  1. Man Utd are 2-0 up here and it could be 3 or 4. Not sure how they're managing it because the pitch isn't brilliant. It's a fucking mystery to me tbh.
  2. Bang out of order that St Mirren got to play on a bowling green yesterday while Rangers were made to play on a quagmire. Honestly, that pitch is absolutely fine, but especially for late January. The baldy c**t is trying to perpetuate the myth that a surface that isn't perfect is somehow a leveller. Just take the three points and f**k off.
  3. Apparently we knocked back Mellon when it became clear he couldn't play anywhere across the front three.
  4. I'm honestly not sure who we could/would move out at this point. Unless Stav is away. Everyone else seems important and is of a decent enough quality.
  5. Decent window. We needed: 1) a shuffle of the pack up front, for new ideas if nothing else 2) LWB cover 3) RWB cover/long-term Strain replacement 4) a centre mid We have got all of those things.
  6. Nah. I know last night was probably a gut punch but you're a decent side. Can't see you being anywhere near bother as long as you stay solvent.
  7. Bringing the Old Firm into a thread about Hearts and Dundee is a bit weird tbh.
  8. This was not the sort of crashing bottles I came in this thread to see, tbqhwy.
  9. I really want to see him play down the left. We have him and Kiltie constantly cutting back inside. It's predictable and easy to defend. Might be ok when Strain is playing and whipping balls in from the right, but when that's gone we look very narrow and lobsided.
  10. The issue with Stav at this stage is he's unlikely to have the time to do enough to justify the fee he would command to make the move permanent. Unless he comes back from Spain and starts banging in a goal every other game.
  11. And even if we're playing 3-4-3, we can't go into this phase of the season with just two genuine first team midfielders. One of which has been off the boil and the other, in CBM, has been good but wouldn't really be first choice under normal circumstances. We absolutely needed a signing of this type, so I'm pleased we've addressed it and I hope he turns out to be decent.
  12. Oh look Morton have finally managed to get a few points on the board. Welcome back mate.
  13. Studs up contact with any part of the opponent's body is usually a red, tbf. People seem to be suggesting that there might be an exception here because Hart was bending but if he got him in the thigh he'd likely have been in trouble as well.
  14. Meh. Could offer excuses relating to ye absence of O'Hara and Baccus, but in truth we've been playing without the real O'Hara for months anyway. Those two early goals could have gone in with our best team on the pitch, and our best team would have struggled to come back from 2-0 down. The red card was a red card - if he went in like that on someone's knee elsewhere on the pitch, it's a red all day long. So yeah, glad that we kept the score respectable by virtue of Celtic taking the foot off and Hemming having a class game. Obviously the endless niggly fouls that don't get given are a frustration, but that'll never change for clubs like ours. Days like this you miss the likes of Curtis Main who knew how to properly body defences.
  15. Especially when you consider the proportional influence of those respective players at us Vs Celtic. It is what it is, I guess. Out midfield could be properly makeshift, but we've snuck 0-0 drawers against Celtic twice on recent seasons while we've been at very low ebbs: early in Kearney's reign and then in the COVID season when we made 18 changes to the starting line up and fielded three under-12s. The Twitter heads gone before and after that game from Rangers and Celtic fans respectively was a marvellous thing.
