  1. Congratulations on your inevitable promotion. Dees staying up and you getting promoted secures some decent add-ons for the Carson and Gallagher transfers respectively. I've been rooting for you both.
  2. I don't believe anybody would (or should) file domestic abuse under anti-social behaviour, even if that broad definition loosely applies. I'd just call it what it is, tbh. Anyway, sorry, didn't mean to derail an otherwise wonderful thread.
  3. ^^^ originally typed out 'make it harder' but altered it to 'more difficult' to preempt the Kenneth Williams GIFs, IMO.
  4. Yeah, the squad is pretty fit. It's not a Jim Goodwin team, after all. We do still tire, but that's more to do with the general intensity of our early play than a lack of specific fitness.
  5. There's just nothing more glorious than scoring after a player has been timewasting. Not having a go at the fact he was doing it, I'd want Hemming to do the same. But ramming it right in after they've been dicking about like that is one of the better things in football. FWIW I thought we were well off it last night, but Baccus and Jamieson both made a difference when they came on. Ever since Baccus signed, right back at the start, we've been a better side with him in it. Absolutely nuts that people don't rate him.
  6. I think it's a decent appointment, unfortunately. A lot of clubs at this level have gone down the 'leftfield'/relatively unproven approach over the past few years. Hibs are bad for it, I don't think Naismith will last much longer at Hearts, nor Robson at Aberdeen. I'd imagine St Johnstone fans will be more than happy with 'well organised if unspectacular' for the rest of the season. Shame, tbh.
  7. Remember when you guys finished above us for two seasons back to back? What am I saying, of course you do. We all had such fun minding the gap. Obviously hindsight is 20:20 but I reckon you should probably have built on that "glorious" success and got yourselves promoted instead of slowly stumbling towards another inevitable relegation to the seaside leagues.
  8. I'm really confused: they beat us in a friendly and were definitely getting promoted, apparently.
  9. The Goodwin one felt harsher to me - did it not bounce up off his body? Gogic's was clearly a handball and I didn't have any issues with the awarding of it. I'm still pretty wounded from the non award of the penalty at Tynecastle last season. Though did we not get away with one v late against Aberdeen after they'd equalised this season?
  10. This is an old headline, not posting it as insight, but you've got to love the P&J's commitment to the 'local angle' thing. They're absolutely doing this on purpose and I'm here for it.
  11. Palma had the beating of Strain as well. Bit of an off night for him, tbh.
  12. "Giving someone a game" might seem like a laughably low barometer for success, but honestly, if we can keep 11 men on the park, I am confident that we can go toe-to-toe with anyone in this league. We'll still lose probably 17 out of 20 games against the Old Firm, but we're no pushovers any more and that is huge progress.
  13. I had money on a Scales yellow card but realised my mistake as he only commited three or four yellow-worthy challenges and not the requisite six or seven.
  14. I thought 'caution' was what came across loud and clear from that interview he did, when asked about McLean/the job. He talked a lot about job security, and I don't think he was just referring to McLean. He's pretty much the only unsackable manager in the top flight, if not the whole of Scotland. Would he fly closer to the sun at this stage? The flip side is, perhaps he knows this season isn't going the same as previous. Maybe he's sick of propping up Livingston. Maybe he feels he might finally be sackable at Livi. FWIW I think you'll get him, and I think he'll keep you up.
  15. This. All the pearl clutching over his past needs to get in the sea now. Can probably send yer Da's jokes about him dealing there as well.
  16. Weird, but business is business. The withdrawal was a farce but there might have been legit reasons behind it. If they turn round a year later and want to put more money in, then the club isn't going to say no. I bet we took payment up front, though.
  17. I'd be objectively fascinated to see Neilson get the gig. I'd love to see how he approaches getting a side out of trouble. Reasonable chance he could do it, but also a chance he gets massively found out. I think Martindale probably keeps St Johnstone up, probably at Livi's expense, so he'd be the obvious choice in that respect. Billy Dodds would be magnificent entertainment for everyone else but an absolute disastrous appointment.
  18. Just need to keep 10 men on the park. If we do that than there's every chance we can at least give them a game.
