  1. Cheers, didn't realise that about those two. Great news. And yeah, McGinn has already implied he won't be difficult to negotiate with.
  2. As you've said, though, only two on that entire list are currently anywhere near the first team, so I'm not too fussed about any of that lot going. I think it'll come down to how many of the first XI we can keep in place. Two (Morgan & Smith) are definitely away and will be a big miss. Aside from that, it'll be vital to get the likes of Cammy, Reilly, McGinn, Eckersley, and so on, tied down to new deals. I'd like to think they'd all stick around. Either way, we're in for yet another fascinating transfer window. We've seen that Jack likes to get his work done early, so I bet we'll see some PCAs being done once promotion is confirmed.
  3. Sonupe and Genev had left my head altogether. We were really just guessing by that stage of the season. This is old ground, but I hold the BoD more responsible for it all than I do Craig. He was just arrogant and out his depth. The board, though, should never have given him the gig, should have sacked him faster, replaced him faster, and replaced him properly. We could have had a half-decent, experienced coach in the door well before the January window opened. Makes me very grateful for the current set-up.
  4. My god. That summer. The flattering games against Blyth and Whitley Bay that made Callum Ball and Greg Wylde look like players. Looking back at that squad, there were so many players I'd forgotten about/removed from my mind. James Marwood. Yoann Arquinn (that debut red card!). Adam Drury. Isaac Osbourne. Emanuel Sonupe (!). Alan Gow. Victor Genev. Throw in the farcical, lazy recruitment of Tommy Craig, the promotion of Goodwin to assistant then demotion back to player again, the dithering over giving Teale the job while the January window passed us by, the sale of McLean. What a total clusterfuck from start to finish. No wonder it took us two years and a mercurial manager to recover from it.
  5. I'm going to infer two things from this tweet from Stelios: 1) we have started to talk to players about new deals (there were rumours to that effect yesterday, I believe). 2) he's not getting offered one. I may be reading too much into it.
  6. I think he'll still be playing a major role in the run-in. John Sutton any use?
  7. If any other teams need strengthening ahead of games against Livingston or the Arabs, just hit us up, yeah?
  8. Josh Todd joins Queens on an emergency loan. Ie, we've played you four times, and you have three games yet to play against our closest rivals. Shrewd move, IMO. I hope he scores fucking tonnes for you!
  9. Eight points more than Hibs, game-for-game. Raith were still reasonably well placed this time last year. Morton were five points better off after two games fewer. #DiscernibleUpwardTrajectory Edit because the Tweet preview has cropped the tables:
  10. I do. 14 points from remaining games enough to put it beyond doubt (assuming Arabs can't achieve a huge GD swing). But... I think folk are keeping their powder dry until it's just a little closer. It's just a bit of a phoney war at the moment.
  11. Just realised I've been so carried away with Saints cruising the league that I've forgotten to mind the gap. I do hope some of you guys have got it covered.
  12. I'd like to see them get to the playoff final so they get their hopes up, but then get utterly ridden. Maximum entertainment.
  13. I like the version that gets St Murn down to a single syllable. Smurn. I tell you what else is a three-syllable word, mind: champions. Unless you're singing it, in which case it's typically four...
  14. That Facebook 'Memories' thing has just informed me that eight years ago today I received tickets for a cup final in the post. It's weird, because I can't even remember Saints getting to a final in 2010.
  15. Brought a tear to my eye. He's in my top three of all time. Almost the very definition of a cult hero.
  16. Arabs sign Mohsni, you sign Fraser... this league is becoming petulant meltdown central HQ.
  17. I am tempted, and I'm keen to support the club as I think it's a decent initiative. Thing is, I've never been a massive fan of watching football when I know the result. I do still manage to pay to see some of the games via a VPN though it's not as reliable as it used to be. I kinda wish they'd lift the restrictions on Saints TV for those of us on the other side of the wall, but I can see it'd be near-impossible to implement. Agreed. Definitely a lot to worry defences there - especially if we can find a way to play three of the four effectively together. We need to prepare for life after Morgan and maybe a slight change in system is the way forward.
