  1. Are Barnsley really bonkers enough to sack someone who's come in at this stage, given the situation they're in? Anything's possible, I guess, but they would look mental, and completely unappealing as an employer, if they make themselves look that trigger happy. Then again, even the clubs with the fastest revolving doors still attract managers, so maybe they don't give a f**k.
  2. I could never forget what he's done for us. He's going to be our first manager for three decades to move to a bigger job. Feels weird, but can't begrudge him the move, whether it's Barnsley or wherever. Shame managers don't attract the same sort of transfer fees players do. (I mean other players at other clubs, obviously.)
  3. James Fowler. I'd give the Saints job to him, if he didn't go with Ross. If that was the case, I'd have him back at Saints, no bother
  4. The Sun prints a story. The Sun's sister betting site changes some odds accordingly. The fact that the odds have changed generates further news. And so on.
  5. That's internet forums in a nutshell, BM. Nobody gives a f**k if you're correct, but if you are proven wrong, it's open season.
  6. Well, relegation seems unlikely from this position, but I'm sure we could give it a go.
  7. That's the nicest thing anyone's ever said about me. The first part, anyway. I was merely pointing out that the Championship is a decent route to the Premier League, and that being sacked by a Champ club is not necessarily a barrier. Point taken about experience in the Carvalho case, but how much experience did Garry Monk have when Swansea gave him the job? What about Chris Hughton - he generally kicked around the championship before striking gold with/for Brighton? I do hope you're correct, and you're probably being more rational about the whole situation than I am, but my point is that, if you're Jack Ross, then heading to Barnsley isn't the dead end you seem to be suggesting it is. That level is full of managers who only seem to have a job becuase they have previously managed in the Championship. It sometimes seems like a job for life, albeit with a range of different clubs. I'd be wanting some of that if I was him.
  8. Plus, Swansea have very recently appointed a guy who was sacked by a Championship club. Or, there are feckin massive clubs in the championship now. It's a huge, well-watched league.
  9. Yep. You could well imagine a club such as Swansea taking a punt on him sooner rather than later.
  10. I think that's why this feels different to the Dundee bollocks. I'd certainly take the money. Yeah, I properly brought that on myself. As I said on the last page, I'd have Hopkin. He might be a smelly Greenock b*****d, but so is Lewis Morgan and we all fucking love him.
  11. I'll bite... It doesn't take much to avoid relegation in the SPL - Danny Lennon and Gus McPherson both managed it a number of times, and have hardly set the managerial heather on fire since. All you really need to do is not give the job to Tommy Fucking Craig. 100% of the managerial appointments that our current BoD has made have been an astounding success, so I'm sure we'll figure something out.
  12. Yeah. Love the guy to bits but he's got Alloa performing at precisely the level you would expect them to. Oh, and you coming on here and not telling us all this is complete bollocks has confirmed, for me, that we need to be worried.
  13. Is Goodwin actually doing that good a job at Alloa? I'm unsure. Despite his Ton connections, I'd be having a quiet word to see if Livi's manager fancies a slightly different view of the game at the weekend.
  14. Yeah, it was a rhetorical question, TBH. Even if they go down, he's not getting the blame, given the position they're in. It's a no-lose situation for him. I'm really fucked off about this. So, is it true that James Fowler is actually the tactical mastermind behind our success over the past 12 months?
  15. True. FFS. This is a proper gut punch. Barnsley are pretty abject but they're still in touch with survival. He's pulled off bigger turnarounds, I've heard.
  16. Oh, ffs. The difference in tone here is what worries me: we never gave Dundee permission to talk (AFAIK). Why would this change now?
  17. Imagine having a guy who saw his old club struggling, so went out of his way to re-join, with the publicly-stated target of keeping us up then getting us promoted. Now imagine he's also our captain, and that he wasn't talking complete bollocks. Stephen McGinn. What a fucking guy.
  18. It's nice having a weekend off when you're so far clear in the league. A wee rest could prove to be very important for our squad ahead of the run in, which I think could be tighter than some are predicting.
  19. That tweet is a bit annoying, tbh. It's like those attention seekers on Facebook who post crap like "Just had the worst day eva!" so people will ask them what's wrong, but then say they don't want to talk about it. It's the line about 'keeping his reasons to himself'. If he really wanted to do that, he wouldn't even hint that there were reasons. Fuxake.
