  1. Check out the big talk from the supporter of the team 20 (twenty) points behind us.
  2. I was only kidding, obviously. It's one of those pumpings we're grateful for - seemed to really galvanise our season. If it wasn't for that, we might only be in second or something. You're a good bunch really.
  3. Well, we didn't give away two penalties and have man sent off against any of those teams.
  4. Yeah. Even the 8th-place year was a slight fluke based on a few decent results at the end of the season, IIRC. And that squad should have finished higher.
  5. I've got to hand it to you guys: this thread really is better than mine.
  6. Is there many players in this division that would get in this team?? The other lad from Livingston, maybe. Mullin. Though they're looking good for a playoff spot. So Hippolyte, then.
  7. Obviously it was highlighted on the commentary, but both he and Jack Ross were livid at the way we started the game. He appeared to be bollocking everyone at one point Sets the standard and makes sure everyone hits it. What a guy.
  8. I thought he looked absolutely knackered on Saturday. Maybe this weekend isn't the time to rest him, but soon. Actually, when's the next round of the cup? We've played more games then most teams so don't need to catch up - he can relax then! Edit: 10th Feb. Weekend off. Could prove to be crucial.
  9. Jack Ross, Paul Hartley and Jim Goodwin..? Bungling burglars? https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/bungling-masked-burglars-caught-less-14187701 I certainly hope not. There's been no theft at St Mirren since Riyaid Mahrez nicked a bike to escape us. And when Jens Paeslack stole a watch. Oh, and when we stole Lee Bullen's title in 2000.
  10. You can imagine him starting in the away games, especially against top-half opposition; maybe an option from the bench in the home games. Not seen enough to know what he's like creatively, but we have enough going forward in this team to be able to afford one less creative midfielder. He was a fair fucking size, mind - exactly what we need in the middle of the park.
  11. Not sure what we paid for Mullen, but it's probably covered most of that fee, at least.
  12. Jordan Kirkpatrick away back to Alloa as well. I will say this for Jack Ross: he has assembled a brilliant first XIV players, but beyond that, our squad depth has been fairly shite. I can see what he's thinking - probably wanted decent numbers in, in case of injuries, etc. Quality over quantity appears to be the way forward. Edit: just behind @KierenAAFC there... I like Alloa, love Goodwin, so hopefully the two players we've sent help you get up this time round.
  13. Well, probably quite a lot of changes, but most teams seem to be having a fairly big playing staff turnover most summers now, and we've done a huge amount of work in the transfer market since Jack has been here (not all of it successfully, of course, but that's not criticism.) Long way to go yet, though. No way are we home and dry just yet. I do, of course, believe that if the players you've outlined above happened to help us canter to the title here, then they should get their chance in the top flight, but no doubt we'd need to add quality. Saturday lunchtime will be a good indicator of the gap we would potentially need to make up. We'll see.
  14. f**k, I'd forgotten about those #ladsladslads in Budapest. On a mad one in Europe, posting on Pie and Bovril in their hotel room.
  15. I'd show the guy a picture of Rory Loy as a case study example of what can happen when you think with your wallet instead of joining St Mirren. Edit: I posted that before I saw the pic on the Falkirk thread. I understand he's rumoured to have depression and I wasn't having a pop at that or his weight. Just meant the overall situation.
  16. Because we've had years of being in a higher league than you - and, largely, did enjoy it (if year after year of relegation fights with occasional moments of glory are your thing). As far as I'm aware, you didn't have to endure much 'mind the gap' pish. What you're seeing now is just payback for the Ton fans' reaction to finishing above us for two seasons. It's been said many times that most of the Morton posters are clearly decent folk, but it can be hard to ignore the really persistent cretins.
  17. Takes some balls to post that when you're 15 points behind us. I salute you and your massive balls. But not your team: they're shite.
  18. Interesting. Wouldn't actually bother me if nobody else came in now, but the more the merrier!
  19. In unsurprising news, several tweets are suggesting that Hill and Flynn have been confirmed now, though nothing official as yet. I'm pleased with the Flynn signing; he's played at a decent level and we do need cover out wide. I have a sneaking suspicion this might represent all of our business for the window.
