  1. Don’t have twitter but I’m genuinely puzzled as to why they’ve taken exception to us. Is it simply because we’ve been vocal in campaigning for what’s best for our club, and that happens to also be what’s best for their rivals? The whole club and the majority of their fans really are vile.
  2. I agree with Gordon, I’m not fussed about being declared champions, we won’t have the chance to enjoy the benefits that come with winning a championship. Promotion is the important thing. And you’d always have the sly digs about not actually earning the championship. If they crown us champions then fine, if not then as long as we go up I won’t care.
  3. In that case, can you provide a link to advice or statistics that suggest we may be able to re-start sporting events and/ or mass gatherings by the 10th June please? And by extension of this, evidence that restrictions will be lifted enough by approx 4 weeks before that to allow players to return to training? We’ll ignore the very obvious issues with contracts of players since you haven’t claimed a higher level of knowledge on that than the rest of us.
  4. Oh for fucks sake. Have you watched the news at any point in the last month?
  5. Yep, nothing but praise for Clark in his tenure so far...... until this week. Keep giving us updates on the state of the club on the official site, decline any offer of an interview from any other media, recent comments aren’t endearing him or Raith to anyone right now.
  6. Any chance you could disappear back to the championship forum? We’ve got enough ‘representatives’ of league one clubs who keep spouting simplistic repetitive shite over the past 70-odd pages, they’ve got this covered without help from other clubs.
  7. Bit of a bizarre thing to get yourself in a tizzy about. I’m not sure what you think has gone on here but the famous Andy Mill isn’t a snake oil salesman. He’s not been on social media or knocking on people’s doors begging, or even asking, for anybody to give the club money. Some supporters realised early on that the club could potentially be in trouble if they had no income for months. They asked the club how they could donate. Andy Mill as supporters representative on the board was tasked with setting up a just giving page which he did. There was no pleading from him for anyone to donate and I can’t even remember if he gave any interviews about it. If you watch any of the interviews with the chairman on our website you’ll see that he always states numerous times that RRFC should come second to your own financial well-being and people should only donate if they are in a position to do so and they feel comfortable doing so. I’m not sure where your perception of Mill as some smooth-talking charmer persuading your granny to sign over her pension comes from but it’s certainly not accurate.
  8. Nope. It was also meant to be a gif. Epic fail.
  9. Yes, they deserve to be because they are not in the relegation spots. Lots of Falkirk fans making tits of themselves recently.
  10. Seems as good a time as any to point out what a shite idea 14 team leagues are. You can’t play 4 times because that’s 52 games which is way too many games. You can’t play twice because it’s 26 games which is too few. You can’t play 3 games because that’s imbalanced. So you have to have a split of some sort. And splits are a bit shit. But probably home and away, then split and home and away again is the best way to go and gives you 38 games plus play offs. I’d rather just keep 12/10/10/10 thanks.
  11. Of course it’s about whose in it with you! Makes no odds what number you give the league. Clyde and Peterhead (and maybe Forfar) deserve on merit to be in a league with clubs like Raith/Partick, Falkirk, Airdrie, East Fife etc and the hundreds of fans they bring. Not in a league with Cowdenbeath, Elgin and Annan who bring two men and a dug. If you can’t see why these teams would be upset then there’s no hope for you. And those teams would be far more hard done by under those proposals than teams relegated based on being bottom after 77% of the season has been completed.
  12. So the smaller clubs get their prize money without having to vote on declaring champions etc now (fair way to do it I agree). But they still want clarity now on what the league is going to look like next season- they don't want to kick the can months down the road. Most of the smaller teams will want to know what league they will be playing in and who else will be in that league so they can budget accordingly. And more imprtantly, once you have that tied down, you can then work on contingency plans for what to do if we can't restart on the nominal first day of the season. It looks like this will go on for months yet, time would be better spent getting prmootion and relegation sorted ASAP and then you can get leagues sorted with plans for what you're going to do if you only have time for 27 games, or 18 games, or 9 games........ I still don't see hy you think the small teams all of a sudden hold all the aces in this position.
  13. And small clubs want it done and dusted quickly so they can get their prize money/ start selling season tickets/ replica shirts etc AND NOT GO BUST. Nobody is in any sort of strong position for bargaining here.
  14. Why should we be looking at reconstruction? It was never an issue before this situation happened- don't recall anybody howling for bigger leagues or three leagues of 14 or any of the pish that's been spouted. While two-up with no relegation might be a decent way out of this to piss off the fewest teams, it wouldn't be done for the betterment of the game, it'd be done to get us out of a hole. The structure of the leagues as-is works pretty well to be honest and while the idea of a bigger top league is appealing to clubs like Falkirk and Raith who think we may have a shot of getting into a 16 team Premier, in reality we're in league one and there are 22 teams above us. If we must go to a 14 team top league for a season to get us out of this hole then that would be ok but let's not kid ourselves that we've been presented with a golden oppertunity to change something we've been wanting to change for years...... Having said that, the distribution of wealth is something that does need changed but I'm not sure how the current situation puts the smaller teams in any sort of strong bargaining position to push for that either. So I'm not really sure what oppertunity the small teams are failing to grasp.
  15. The folk that still think we can complete this season are the same folk that will be down Portobello beach with a BBQ on Sunday.
  16. I agree that calling as-is is not fair. But how is voiding it more fair? In one scenario two teams are rewarded/punished for being better or worse than the other teams over 78% of the season. 8 teams effectively get nothing for their efforts over 78% of the season. In the other scenario nobody is rewarded or punished. All ten teams get nothing for completing 78% of the season, irrespective of how well they did. Genuinely still can’t comprehend how people think that’s a better outcome.
  17. That’s true, but it’s the worst way possible to get promoted. A massive part of the enjoyment from winning the league comes from the game where you clinch it and celebrating. Will be a shame if we are promoted that way. However, better than another season in this league and/or going bust.
  18. You’re absolutely correct, which is why it would be an utter shit show to try and extend the season. The only fair way to conclude the season beyond the scheduled end date is to ensure all clubs use the same squad they have now. That would mean no new players signing and mandatory extensions for out of contract players. Sounds simple but I’m sure lawyers would have a field day.
  19. I still don’t see us being in a position to be able to play football for many months yet. If they are to extend the season and contracts then they MUST ensure that no new players can be signed to avoid what has been suggested above with clubs breaking the bank on short term deals to get them over the line.
  20. Pfffff.... season carrying on after all this is over isn’t really an option either is it? Think we can all see that there won’t be any football played for months- I think even August looks optimistic. UEFA/ FAs seem to be the only ones that don’t realise how serious this is. And even if it could start before then, the well documented issues with contracts are a major headache. Regarding pre-season, Jack Ross said the other day that he thinks players need at least a month to get back up to full speed. There’s certainly no easy answer (and no right answer either) but surely it’s about time UEFA got realistic and allowed countries to end their leagues- whether that be null and void or call as-is or whatever other method they see fit. That would then allow FAs to plan for next season- they could surely then come up with a plan that if restrictions are relaxed by X date we’d have a normal season, if it was after X but before Y the season would look like this etc etc.
  21. There’s not though, there’s 8 pages of folk saying that’s what they want to happen (or that’s what will happen) but nobody giving anything like an argument for why it’s the best option. That’s also what I’m talking about. How do you know it won’t happen? There’s now precedent in other leagues -as you say there are different circumstances in those leagues but there is precedent so I don’t know how/why people are so certain that null and void will happen and calling the season won’t. It won’t be as cut and dried as that, all options will be under consideration I’m sure. And yes, you are correct, Raith will be the least aggrieved team if the season is nulled with no promotion. When you look at someone’s profile using the app it doesn’t show you their team or what topics they’ve posted in. I was able to check on my pc at work to see that you are a Fife fan [emoji1360]
  22. Also and I'll repeat for the umpteenth time in the hope that someone will provide an answer, I still cannot fathom why anyone wants null and void (unless their team are in the relegation places). If we were behind Falkirk by one point I'd rather the league was called and they were promoted than simply null and void it. Null and void or call-as-is makes no difference to the team sitting second by a point, they get the same result either way. I'd rather someone was rewarded for their efforts over more than 3/4 of a season.
  23. That's a fair point, but what I want to happen isn't really relevant though. Those who are loudly shouting for the null and void conlclusion seem convinced that that will indeed be the outcome. I just wondered if the smugness was based on anything? Is it based on a precedent elsewhere, a rumour from someone in-the-know, a little legal gem that they've heard about but the rest of us are still ignorant of......... or is it, as I suspect, just what they want to happen but it's being pedalled as 'the only sensible decision' with nothing to back up why it's more credible or likely than other options.
