  1. My soul is already prepared for elimination on NRR on Thursday. I watched Oman do us in an ODI at Mannofield, and wouldn't be surprised if they turn us over.
  2. Sacked after a year, he's fucked up, sacked after a week, etc. I've seen some bits and pieces of the Dons this year - don't think this team is in danger of going down, but they certainly don't look right just now. The big metaphorical book of Scottish football is short of an Aberdeen banter years chapter though, maybe it's coming. Glass will probably get a shot at the January window, but I doubt he gets past May.
  3. Ooft, between this and the lolkirk fans there's enough seethe to have a massive bath in tonight. Glad we've handed out the thumping we've threatened to dish out at some point (gutted I didn't see it) and hope we haven't spent all our goals for this quarter in one go. Think Clyde could probably do with a new manager and new ideas. Seems very stale down in the windtunnel.
  4. Clyde 0 Montrose 0 (Webster missed pen, 12), probably.
  5. 'You think Stenny are going down, dontcha? Y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-you think I'm done, all y'all ungrateful bitches thinking you can throw me out the league?'
  6. Saw them last night, and now have the moral dilemma of whether to go to a wedding reception in a couple of hours time knowing I've been in a room that may have been reeking of the covid. Gig itself was alright. To help Collins, most of the songs had to be taken down at least a semitone or two (some work, some don't) and had backing vox. His son is possibly a better drummer than him TBH - must hurt like hell watching him rip through Cinema Show et al knowing he probably can't do it again. The staging was clever, as it needed to be. There were quite a few (good natured) hecklers in, which was unexpected, and may explain why Banks stormed off at the end. Not much pre 1980 stuff, but if you want that you're better off going to see Steve Hackett.
  7. Not for the first time, lost my train of thought and missed it. I offered the draw just beforehand because I saw no way of winning, and threw in the towel after that cock up because I knew you'd eventually get through. I think this league is gradually breaking me TBH. gg.
  8. Oops, classic case of thinking I'd moved when I haven't. Odds are I'd have found a way to f**k it up the way I've been playing lately anyway.....
  9. Been slightly off grid last few days - lost to cols407 in the madwullie cup (made a horlicks of it), then beat Board_Stupid in the league (didn't make a horlicks of it)
  10. Correct on both counts. Trying to metaphorically shitfest a 0-0 has its limits in this league
  11. Div A - GCarlos9 beats el_scorgio, resignation. Lost this one in the middle of the game through poor position, trapped myself in the corner, and got the pearl revolver out when all hope had gone. GG. If this was football management, I'd be expecting the sack by now.
  12. Ministry went on a similar journey from their origins, though they were far louder/thrashier later on. Talk Talk was the name that sprung to mind straight away for me.
  13. Would have taken a point beforehand, but filthy to lose another slack, late lead. Fairly even on balance - I thought both teams looked short of composure and confidence first half, but Falkirk missed at least 2/3 very good chances after we tossed away another pen. They stuck in towards the end just like Clyde did, but they are still way short of the sum of their parts. Keatings is a 'too early to tell' at the moment. Our shape was better than the last two home games,, but when you shore up the middle of the park and grab 2-0 lead on the counter, you should see it out. League is insanely tight just now. Without Webster, we'd be in the soup. Another tough game next week.....
  14. Glad to see the calls answered - I'm sure it's not been for want of trying but still a relief. Even if Keatings is only fit for an hour just now, he's worth a flyer straight in because the cutting edge up front has been AWOL.
  15. There's nothing worse, my exploits in Loch Ness on my 30th birthday doing the last ten miles with a back spasm are still quite fresh in the mind (though I hadn't trained quite as hard though). Under 24 minutes at parkrun for the first time in a good while this morning. morrison - maybe......
  16. Div A - el_scorgio vs DearyMe, draw by repitition. Mega tight, couldn't find a way through, so took the point. And remembered how DBR works properly this time. GG. Taking a lot of solace that I'm not getting thrashed, but nowhere near good enough to win much either though. Tough league.
  17. Div A - beef2711 beats el_scorgio, resignation. Brainfart, again.
  18. I suspect Netflix are aiming for casual viewers as well as F1 nuts, so not totally surprised about some of the more in-depth narratives being glossed over (especially the stuff which paints him in a less favourable light - some of the 1994 shenanigans, Austria 2002, etc) to try and keep the running time sensible. Felt like a more sanitised watch than Senna, but still tragic how it finishes up.
  19. Div A - eindhovendee beats el_scorgio, resignation. Fairly even until I lost my train of thought halfway through and eventully committed rookicide. GG.
  20. Yuck. A near carbon-copy of the Dumbarton game where a physically astute and more clever side picked us off. All huff and puff, but no goals, and one of the most slack, disjointed performances I've seen for a while. Genuinely wondering where or when the next goal from open play is coming from....
  21. Division A, PurpleKangaroo89 beats el_scorgio - resignation. Two terrible brainfarts did me in. GG.
  22. FYI only just back from holiday so probably won't pick these up for a couple of days while i try and batter through the other two games....
  23. FC United of Manchester 1 - 3 Stafford Rangers. Very bizarre game in which FCUM looked the slicker team, but couldn't finish and even with 10 men and pulled level after a pen, Stafford knocked in a couple of set pieces, and professionally and clinically saw them off. Really good set up here - was meant to be at the 'proper' Old Trafford for the cricket, but this did nicely instead. Very vocal home support with quite an eclectic range of songs, too.
  24. Had a ticket for tomorrow, bah. Not surprised the Indians are being cautious, it's a least-worst situation this...
  25. Quite probably the only redeeming feature of working in one was the odd celeb paying their phone bill to break the monotony of complaints. Mostly Z-listers, but personal favourite was Steve Harris of Iron Maiden being grumpy because he couldn't get broadband at his big country pile up in Essex, this was around 2005 IIRC. (Used to play drums in a Maiden tribute band for a while before that n'all, very weird quirk of fate.) Have met a few famous faces, but no spectacular stories TBH.
