  1. Although I admire* the ability of the five players to pick up the low-hanging fruit, if I was on Deadpool VAR I'd probably be overturning any Deborah James picks on the terminal rule. Players to either accept the null and void or gamble on purchasing a sub for 50 points, and the whole thing to be televised live with Sanchez doing his best Jim Bowen impression. * probably not the right word TBH
  2. Sore one for Cowden. I guess it wouldn't be as bad if the Lowland was a decent league, but until the pyramid starts to sort itself out there is quite an unappetising stew of plastic clubs, uni teams, and bigoted B-sides to deal with in there for the next 5 years or so. Good luck.
  3. Imitation is the biggest form of flattery, so that attempt to out-bottle job us last night was much appreciated. Now you (and all the other WUM's) must wake up: https://youtu.be/jy_mrF4Lxb4
  4. Didn't mean to be, fully appreciate the pull for the Pars in relation to Petrie. If he was really going to take another job, I guess it would be this one. Hughes clearly wasn't the answer this season at all for you, 'donkey' is probably being kind. At least it wasn't HWSNBN....
  5. SP is contracted until 2025 with us, so he'll be a more expensive option than some, even if he does now feel like a crack at FT. I'd rather he buggered off to you lot than those b*****ds down the A92 in fairness, but would still rather keep him here in case we appoint some utter donkey like the one you've got just now. (Looking forward to finally visiting EEP next season - hear good things about the catering. The most important part of the day, natch)
  6. Ted requires two. Grim. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-stoke-staffordshire-61423653
  7. Ground is screaming out for a covered shed terrace with steps a'la Ochilview down at the far end over and above the three cowsheds (especially if you're likely getting more than a thousand through the gate most weeks). Not sure it would make it any less cold mind you, but would still be a better viewing experience.
  8. Mallard (IIRC) in Dingwall literally backs onto the platform? Not surprised Dumbarton have gone down, slightly surprised EC have done for them.
  9. Couldn't make it, but sounds like a Spud in the bed job by us. Knew as soon as they squared the game we were doomed. It's been a fine season by us on the whole, but that is a sour way to finish Would expect Airdrie to run over QP now.
  10. Very small sample size but around 25% in person turnout near the middle of Aberdeen (also PC today). Surprising/dispiriting lack of awareness how STV works with many.....
  11. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/61313801. IIRC, that's me off the duck egg.
  12. Will happily take that outcome. Not sure how Airdrie didn't take one of their several chances but glad they didn't. First 30 minutes they looked half asleep but got on top of the game by the end. Fear now is that they can't be quite as shite in front of goal two games in a row. Very gutsy stuff from us, and delighted tonight, but will be a quivering wreck at 3pm Saturday, probably.
  13. Lower end of four figures I'd guess. QOS play off was around 900, Morton was significantly less for obvious reasons. Hope more than expectation given the problems at CB about getting through this tie. We travel better than at home generally so not taking a lead isn't a disaster, but 0-2 down and beyond is probably fatal. Just hope the game itself is as good as the last one and not a nervy tiptoes affair.
  14. Thought it was a penalty in real time TBH. Given how Simpson has been a long way short of looking a goalscorer for us, it probably wasn't necessary to put the challenge in! Not that it mattered in the end - guessing Rice stuck a rocket up them at half time, leading to the knife-through-butter stuff early second half. Now you've got a decent manager I wouldn't be surprised to see Alloa pushing for top 4 next time round. Losing Henderson is a blow - he looked far more like a player today than he did for us.
  15. Made a very late call to go to Alloa this afternoon, if nothing else I can say I was there the day we played Rossco at CB. First half we got away with it, the opening 15 minutes of the second half we definitely didn't. Properly George Shields tombola feel to the team as we played the Cbeebies side for the last third - thought Baxter deserved a goal, promising showing. The rest, meh. Reckon we just did it to let Alloa enjoy finishing ahead of Roflkirk too, hah. Bring on Tuesday.
  16. First leg confirmed for the Tuesday next week (selfishly happier with that, having a 17 hour shift all day on the Thursday). I'm not sure whether an open game like the aforementioned 2-2 suits us more than trying to be tighter and robust and sneak a 1-0 lead down there. Think Airdrie are better than that Morton side that (just) did us last season, so not massively confident we get past them. Hope more than expectation. MON.
  17. Fair play to Cove over the piece. Ended up there today and they just do what they always do - make themselves hard to beat, and make sure their striker(s) take a chance or two and find a way to win. (Dumbarton gave slightly more resistance than I expected, TBF.) I still think Airdrie are the much easier team on the eye, but it's points on the board that count </cliche>. Be interesting to see how much surgery Hartley does to the team.
  18. Reading between the lines, guessing Fort probably could have put 11 players on the pitch but would have been on the wrong end of the biggest 90 minute shagging this side of a Ben Dover video. Don't wish them any ill will in the NCL if they carry on, but they've clearly needed turfing out of this league for a while.
  19. Personally speaking? If this had been any other part time team, be it an Alloa, East Fife, or even a Brechin side managed by the bunnet, I'd have been absolutely rooting for Killie to have shat it tonight. But because its them, I'll willingly hold my hands up and admit I don't have the magnanimity to back the fairytale (even if I begrudgingly respect it) so it's a feeling of relief just now. They could still get up of course, but I reckon/hope the manner of that defeat will have knocked too much stuffing out of them now.
  20. Probably one of the best games I've seen this season, there. Two teams playing an open flowing game with very little blooterball and chances for both sides aplenty. Airdrie maybe shaded it slightly, they do move the ball very well but found the Seagull on very good shot-stopping form. Suspect another two rematches in May are coming - Airdrie really had to win that, and I think you can hand Cove the title now.
  21. Ooooft. When we put Rossco on and he scores, that's properly getting the towel across the arse. Great result. Get Roflkirk in the sea.
  22. The Dodgepotteries, shurely? Only realised the Lakeside diddy-shoot is on free to air yesterday. Expectations are low....
