Aye definitely. IIRC the whole point of the interview was that we should be achieving more, saying that we’re probably a bigger club than Saints was just something he mentioned in the middle of the conversation. The journalist who wrote it knew where the talking point was though.

Saints fans took some offence to this without actually reading the article. Shields’ point was that Dunfermline should be aspiring to achieve much more than we have done in the last decade. He compared the two clubs and their recent achievements (or lack of), saying words to the effect of “clubs like St Johnstone are a similar size, if not smaller, than us and they’re achieving a lot more, what’s stopping us from doing that?” Which I think is an entirely fair point to make, but instead we all got dragged into some dick measuring competition about crowds and trophies etc.

We’d have needed a lot more than just Paul Paton (who, being completely honest, doesn’t even provide much quality these days) to help us this season, but we really could have done with his presence in midfield. Instead we’ve had to watch gutless shitebags stinking the place out for a full season.

Both Hughes and this board are well suited to each other just now. They’re so fucking out of touch it’s getting painful. It could not be more obvious to literally any fucker on the planet that Hughes and the board have failed immensely in their roles. Yet, there is no accountability shown by any of them, not a glint of it. Delusional shite continues to be churned out by both of them and neither party will ever take responsibility or acknowledge the monumental c**t they have made of things. They’re both absolutely ruining this football club. A similar comment was made above but if they so much as utter the words “back to where we belong” over the next few days/weeks then I think I’ll have a full on meltdown. f**k John Hughes. f**k Peter Grant and f**k all the people at the club who thought it was ever a good idea to appoint these utter clowns.

Think this is absolutely true. If it’s still 0-0 and we’ve created barely any chances by the second half I’d make Queen’s Park favourites. I reckon the decent enough away support but with not much of a singing section really amplified how frustrated the Pars fans were tonight. Dorrans was better than what Pybus has offered this season, if both fit I’m taking the former. I’m a dafty for wanting to hook Polworth before Chalmers. Chalmers was fucking awful in that second half and how he managed the full 90 I’ll never understand. Yogi’s subs were also completely baffling.

There can’t be an individually worse performance in the history of the sport than Ambrose in the first 10 minutes.

Mark Kerr had a decent season IIRC. Kyle Hutton was also a slight upgrade on the likes of Paul Burns, and Nick Phinn was just really unfortunate not to get a real go in the SPL due to injury. The fear of hearing both John Potter and Alex Keddie starting at the back in a top flight game was fucking grim.

This really frustrates me. Falkirk have been the same for the last few years, talking about building a squad that can compete in the Premiership.. whilst struggling to stay in the top half of League One. We should just be focusing on staying up and building a squad that will achieve what we can in the following year. Meggle's comments don't seem to be going down this road too much, so it's not a specific dig at him, but talking about Premiership football whilst being a bawhair from the third tier isn't great.

Interesting couple of tweets from Derek Rae (@Raecomm) who spoke to Meggle about their investment in the club. There’s a mention of McArthur being spat at and his car vandalised, contrasting to how Meggle and the other investors haven’t had any issues like that at all. He also says relegation wouldn’t stop their involvement (don’t know if that was ever in doubt?) and the plan over 7-9 years is promotion to the Premiership. That seems like a right fucking laugh just now.

Notice how the club have done nothing to promote the game as anything significant. Just the usual links to match and ticket info, you wouldn't think this was a must-win final day of the season. It's been said plenty times this season but the PR/social media side of things really has to improve next season.

It was an absolute shambles at the Rovers game, I reckon at least 300 people were still queuing at the NW at kick-off.
