IMO we’re not going to cause any problems for the teams in the top 4, and I’ve got a feeling the rest of the campaign is just about doing enough to not have to worry about relegation. If Crawford can show that we can improve under him by threatening the top 4 or even squeezing in there somehow then, aye, I could understand the board giving him another season. If not, look elsewhere. Crawford staying as a coach can’t be too wild a notion, but he might only be wanting management jobs now.

This is as good as a home game for me now so I’m looking forward to a few pints in the west end followed by the serious disappointment that inevitably follows.

Creative, attack-minded (but not quite number 10) midfielder probably describes him best. Didn’t really do anything of note with us in League One but found a bit of form in the Championship, likes to get his foot on the ball and can pick out a pass. The game can pass him by quite easily IIRC but he’s technically a decent wee player with a good understanding of the game, should be a decent signing for League One. One of those players I’d have kept on but wasn’t overly gutted to see him leave is how I felt when he was released, I’m sure. I can’t think where he went or what he’s done (shirt stint in Ireland?) since leaving us which will obviously play a part in his fitness/match sharpness.

Nah, McGill has done nothing to suggest he’s ready for this level yet or any time soon. Nothing against the boy, he seems to have a decent attitude and puts himself about but there’s very little quality there at the moment.

We improved a fair bit on Friday night but I don’t think there was anything “really impressive” about our overall performance. We gained a lot of confidence after going a goal (and two) up but before that we were every bit as shit as Dundee.
