fort William have made a total mess of this and were silent about it for over 2 weeks and now they are trying to blame Clydebank for the situation they created by letting their ground out to another sport.

Draw was on the 26th and by the 28th multiple posters were saying it would be at Golspie. The two weeks of silence seems to have been wasted offering alternatives to Clydebank.

The multi man matches will be fun but just scream house show or TV match. A waste of so many guys too.

It's basically every AEW PPV. All the more so after the introduction of the Trios Titles.

Surely this will end in a DQ after Roddy Strong interferes and hits MJF? Then MJF will sell an injury walking back up the ramp and then for/during the main event, leading to speculation that Strong did it for Cole (and who knows, maybe even leading to the revelation that Cole asked him too; that, or it will lead to a Cole vs Strong match at All Out or some show).

I'm actually expecting them to win the tag titles. Not sure the point of re-introducing The Kingdom from the ROH void unless to be contenders to the title.

when they see actual meaningful matches a week later on All Out (Hobbs vs Miro for example, Punk vs Starks is probable).

Hobbs v Miro as meaningful 😂

Going by Collision, Starks is suspended in ring for 30 days which would mean missing both shows. Since he brought up having his manager's licence I'm thinking he either manages Joe at All In being involved in the finish or he brings in someone for All Out

I just got an email from Ticketmaster saying the start time for All In has been brought forward an hour to 5pm. I don't know if the whole show is being brought back an hour or if they are just adding an extra hour of the buy in show.

PPV is being advertised as 6pm BST / 1pm EST. The 5pm start will just be for the Zero Hour show where at the very least MJF & Cole v. Aussie Open will take place.

The reminder's just to make sure there are bums in seats for it.

Where did St Cuthbert's title-winning squad decamp to? Mind-boggling that they might just be bested by W&B this season, when there was probably 200 goal difference between them a couple of years ago. But that's what makes football at any level interesting.

Manager that put it together left for Dalbeattie Star after winning the title. A lot of them went with him to Dalbeattie (not that it did them any good in the Lowland) and otherwise scattered.

Nae pleasing some folk, nae wonder eh?

Aye it's a guid idea to send a team on a 160 mile round trip midweek.

If only there was another option, oh wait there is, plenty of teams closer to Sanquhar than Newton, but we'll just ignore that fact.

Have a wee look at the West midweek fixtures, at least the bloke tries to keep it as local as possible for the teams.

Quite a few people did look at the West fixtures in their forum and made the same complaints about travelling midweek.

Just watched this past weeks Rampage… The Kingdom 😄

Also, can anyone explain why Brian Cage has suddenly resurfaced and been getting quite a push after god knows how long he was off tv? He is absolutely dreadful to watch and a dire throwback to the 90s steroid beasts that Vince used to get erect for.

He and Big Bill were put together in the Blind Tag Eliminator. Two big hosses they got some popularity as a throwback tag team with a cool finisher.

They were there just to be an obstacle to MJF & Adam Cole. That's really where the double clothesline and bodyslam got over.

So yeah, fans liked them and they're making the most of it.

By the way I wish those 90s/00s steroid monsters worked like Brian Cage. He's bland personality wise, but he's able to keep pace with most of the smaller guys and decent mid-tier threat for TV matches.

The AEW women's division squabbling, fighting and bullying each other like a bunch of Falkirk fans after a defeat it would seem.

Seems to have been a largely united front against an outsider. Even some non-AEW talent coming to out to support Ruby Soho. Doesn't seem like Lufisto made a ton of friends over the years on the indies, which would explain no real stints in AEW, WWE, Impact, or ROH.

No doubt there's problems in the locker room. There's been plenty of gossip over the years. But even the Thunder Rosa stuff is old news. So old she went away and came back having been on the road for the last 6 months after apologising.

One of the takeaways from what Lufisto said might finally explain why Serena Deeb just dropped off the face of the earth with none of the dirt sheets being able to confirm anything.

    Nonsense. It's semi pro football.

Highland League, even in the pre-pyramid days, made floodlights a requirement. I don't think it should prevent entry, but something that clubs have to apply for a waiver for so they know it's something to work towards.

  11. Reason for the bump in the thread is more Conference moves. Superconferences are on the horizon.

Last week Colorado confirmed they were moving back to the Big 12.

That's triggered Washington & Oregon joining USC and UCLA in moving to the B1G.

That takes the PAC-12 down to 7 teams for 2024-25.

Arizona, Arizona St. and Utah are all rumoured to be looking at the Big 12. Cal and Stanford are angling for the B1G. Washington St & Oregon St. left with the Mountain West as a last resort.

Some ACC teams are making noises. Even to the extreme of trying to dissolve the Conference in order to escape Grant of Rights issues.

Surely a bit of common sense is required! Nithsdale travels nearly 2hrs to Newton Stewart on a Wed night While Wigtown 10 minutes from Newton is sent to Lochmaben the same night. Where is the logic in this?

Maybe its felt the closer games on a Saturday would draw a better crowd. Whereas the difference for the midweek games chosen would be negligible.

Knightswood's first was at Scotstoun, but the WoSFL fixtures page is saying that their next 2 (Saturday 5th and Monday 14th August) are at North Kelvinside Primary School - 3G cage visible from Maryhill Road, opposite the Esso petrol station, before then returning to Scotstoun.

Any idea why? Never great to see games moved, and surprised to see the WoSFL sign off on a primary school. Can't imagine there's much regard for spectators.

Desperate times for Gretna, Is there a chance they won’t complete the season? It can’t go on like this.

    I'd say 0%

They're in a battle with Edinburgh Uni again and there's still plenty of season left to get some distance from them.

More chance of a change of manager to salvage the season if things continue.

  15. The Witcher:

Quite an anti-climatic end to Henry Cavill's time as Geralt. Guess if they knew he was leaving they would have ended around the story in Episode 6 maybe into 7. Which felt like more of an end point of a season anyway.

  16. There was plenty of speculation it would end up on MAX stateside and ITV here. There was some fuel to the fire as FITE offered a season ticket on PPVs and All In wasn't included. Nothing official has come out. A reporter said it will be on PPV as usual in the states as MAX cannot do live streaming yet.

If you take the Dynamite (Elite) / Collision (Punk) divide as an actual thing that could impact booking scenarios. I'm sure i'll end up favouring the concept the Elite built in All In over the Chicago based All Out.

Darby in a singles match at All Out means a Sting tag for Wembley.

For all his faults, energy vampire Jericho does represent AEW to me. He's already booked Fozzy for a show that weekend. You know he's putting his best effort into Wembley.

Kenny targeting Don Callis by way of Takeshita.

We'll have a better idea after tonight that MJF v. Cole will happen soon. Cole was the chosen one to announce the show and MJF seems smart enough to understand main eventing a stadium sized PPV.

Looks like the battle of the AEW workhorses in OC and Mox.

There's plenty missing to fill it out. Title wise would leave Tag, Trios, TNT, and the alternate women's title for All Out.

^^^usually better not to engage with this guy, but worth noting that "a member of the SLFL at the time of the formation of the League" * works for East Kilbride but not for Albion Rovers, Broomhill, Cumbernauld Colts and Edusport/Caledonian Braves. While the last mentioned has been a member of another tier 5 league, the only implication for the other three appears to be that the move to WoS premier wouldn't be "automatic". The phrase highlighted above does appear to imply that Caledonian Braves are not eligible for membership in the WoS if they are viewed as the same club as Edusport. Clumsily drafted rules can lead to unintended consequences so that rule should probably be carefully redrafted.

Edit: * - guess that could also be read as member of the LL at the time of formation of the WoS if "the League" has been defined in the preamble that way but that doesn't encompass Albion Rovers and it's not clear that supercedes the implications of the following sentence given the "Any clubs" bit at the start.

I'm sorry, am I getting in the way of tying yourself in knots over your latest conspiracy theory?

  18. It's been confirmed across multiple seasons that Braves would be relegated to the WoSFL.

The wording in the WoSFL docs seems to be protection against the 'Glasgow Wellington' scenario. A club that opts for the South of Scotland for the easier pathway to promotion, only to be relegated to the WoSFL based on geography.

  19. Got round to watching Dead City now that all the episodes are available online. General thoughts.

    Spoiler

Pretty much everything I feared would happen, happened.

Instead of a tight 6 episode narrative telling a singular story. It's the typical TWD baggy "world building" with other communities being sprinkled in. After a reasonably decent start, there comes a shift where you can tell they're adding things that aren't required unless its groundwork for future seasons. The last episode is pretty much all set-up for a season 2, and who knows how many more to follow.
