  1. Vale game off tomorrow due to Covid issues at Larkhall. So I'm heading to Maryhill v Maybole (been dying to try the Breakfast Pie for some time!) What's the parking like around Lochburn?
  2. My absolute favourite is Seattle's Best Dark Roast, which handily my in-laws can send me from Seattle every few months, as I've not been able to find it over here. Hopefully they can still get it when they move to Arizona in a few months. For stuff I can get here I like Lavazza Espresso Roast for my espresso machine and some of the Asda Extra Special stuff for the French press is pretty good, again I usually like the darker roasts. I'll be putting in an order from (local to me) Pure Roasters when I get paid next week, I've heard nothing but good things about them and I'm ,looking forward to trying their stuff.
  3. I read and adored The Glass Hotel as well. Really looking forward to The Sea of Tranquility when it comes out in a couple of months, she's a very good writer.
  4. Station Eleven by Emily St John Mandel. A fascinating portrait of what the end of the world as we know it would look like. You come to know and care about the characters and the end leaves you satisfied, but at the same time wanting more.
  5. Glasgow Clan 3-1 Belfast Giants. A really good win for the Clan, an absolutely superb third period. A strange atmosphere though, with only 200 allowed in the arena. That being said, enjoyed my night, and Cody Sol is my new favourite hockey player.
  6. Robbie Gould having never missed a kick in the playoffs is some stat.
  7. My scores app said 9.30, so I was going off of that. If it was always set for 9.40 I withdraw my complaint!
  8. Why has this game not kicked off yet? Really annoys me that American sports never actually start at the advertised time.
  9. Another really good NEIPA, this time from Pressure Drop.
  10. Not much of a game, this. Eagles are offering nothing.
  11. Going to the Clan game on Wednesday night. Going to be going straight from work and might be a bit tight on time to get food. Anyone know if they're bothering to sell food in the arena with only 200 fans, or will we be better getting a McDonald's beforehand?
  12. Excellent NEIPA from Amudsen. Best of the Beer52 box so far.
  13. St Mirren Women 1-15 Edinburgh City Women. Over as a spectacle after 10 minutes when City were already 3-0 up. They were absolutely relentless. As one sided a game as you're likely to see.
  14. Fell asleep before halftime in the Bengals game, so I've not seen much football yet this weekend. Will definitely watch the Bucs/Eagles game and will hopefully make it til at least halftime in the Cowboys/49ers one.
  15. Pretty good IPA from Northern Monk. Available in Morrisons.
  16. Gone Again by Doug Johnstone. Usually a big fan of Doug Johnstone but this is far from his best work. A pedestrian but passable domestic thriller for the first 75% that goes spectacularly off the rails for the final quarter and ends up being pretty much nonsense.
  17. Yoker Athletic 2-3 Vale of Leven. An excellent three points on the road for the Young Vale. Pretty even game for the most part, but we probably did enough to merit the win.
  18. Spotted this in Asda this afternoon. Almost an achievement blocking three spaces with a car that size.
  19. A Psalm For the Wild Bulit by Becky Chambers. First in a new series from her and it's absolutely wonderful. She creates worlds and characters that are just fantastic. Book two is out in July and I'll be buying it on publication day.
