  1. There are about 200 or so seats installed, I believe the plan is to erect a cover over them next season. There was a pitch next to the new stadium but I'm not sure if it is still a functional pitch or just used as a training area now - it looked like it had been narrowed or had lost some of the total area when I saw it last week. I might be wrong though.
  2. I was thinking Spank as well, as long as he is over the heartache of missing out on the Ardeer job.
  3. I don't know about rage, but one of the main reasons we were given about this being a good idea was that it would benefit Scottish football. I've yet to see one explanation of how this will benefit anyone other than the two clubs involved (and a small fee for the LL clubs which would be trumped by a visit from any of the bigger WOS clubs in the South Challenge Cup).
  4. I got the impression it was released as a result of an FOI from a media outlet. I could be wrong but that's what I automatically thought.
  5. Apart from two decent spells under Mixu/Shiels and latterly Steve Clarke, we have been pretty awful for much of the last 10-15 years. I can't really say we didn't have it coming at some point. I'm not too despondent - I first started following when we were in the bottom division so I remember (vaguely) that there is more to life than hovering around the bottom of the top league. Maybe we'll actually win some matches hopefully.
  6. The three sides of the stadium were given to Celtic on one occasion when they were odds on to win the league against us and to avoid supporters mixing. Although not ideal it did make sense and wasn't half as embarrassing as, say, opening up a club shop for them in our own stadium.
  7. There will be a retrospective police investigation into the disorder so Rangers won't have to do a thing to identify them.
  8. Just a thought that came to me amidst all the talk of colt sides. Is there anything preventing Kilmarnock and Ayr applying for membership of the WOSFL and entering development sides in the cup competitions? Or does SPFL membership mean you can't also be a member of another league?
  9. The problem is we are getting told that the reason this idea needs to happen is that it will benefit Scottish football. In reality it's going to (perhaps) benefit two teams only. They are trying to pull the wool over our eyes. This will produce absolutely no benefit whatsoever to 40 out of the 42 SPFL clubs yet we are being patronised regardless.
  10. They released a joint statement with the EOS and SOS leagues and have been vocal on social media about their opposition to the idea. I don't really see what else they could do.
  11. I was going to say something similar but couldn't put it any better than you have.
  12. The proposal states that the Lowland League will get 50k but it doesn't say that clubs will receive a full, equal share of this. I imagine the league will have other expenditures which will reduce the size of the eventual payment a club will get (if they even get one). For me it's simple - I watch football at this level partly to get away from the nonsense and inequality at the top of the game in this country which is caused by the existence of the two clubs at the centre of this idea. It's a terrible idea and Lowland League club directors (many of whom will read this forum) should take heed of the deep feeling of resentment this has produced.
  13. I don't necessarily agree with the tactics but there's a couple of reasons why this would be better carried out face to face. Data protection for one (how can they be sure they are taking to the right person?) and the very strong likelihood that the phones are just not going to be answered or hung up immediately upon introduction. Re your point about vaccinations - the decision of a senior officer to employ these tactics which you and many others disagree with doesn't negate the fact that a sizeable section of the population is continuing to act as if there is no pandemic and so the spinning wheel of violent crime, domestics, house parties etc continues - all of which the police are responding to day in, day out. I think your point is a bit unfair.
  14. It can't be much though surely? I know a fair few Rangers fans and not one of them is outwardly an SNP voter. Most of them turned out to be Union Flag waving ultra British nationalists on social media at the weekend.
  15. The facility they are intending on using is a grass pitch surrounded by a running track, which is all enclosed by the standard metal/wire fence which is now widely used. It already has covered seating and floodlights and the changing facilities would be the KA Leisure/St Matthew's Secondary changing which are already used heavily by boys club and amateur teams. The floodlights are mainly focused on the track however and I'm not sure if they would need to be adjusted or upgraded for the pitch to be illuminated. It is a bit of a trek to the changing rooms however so wouldn't be ideal for half times. One thing I'm not sure of is if they are expecting to attract a support there. The town already has a WOS team which doesn't gain much traction in the town.
  16. Arrest a few and it will start a riot. You know this. It's about managing and mitigating the situation and ensuring it doesn't turn violent. There's a clear difference between 40 middle aged hippies lying on a road, and 5000-odd, mainly young emotional and exuberant football fans.
  17. Yes. If you have any ideas on how the police can safely and effectively deal with/arrest 5000 fans at the same time (more than the number of police officers on duty throughout the entire country) them you should write to the Chief Constable immediately and offer your services.
  18. Given Rangers have only outscored Celtic in terms of league titles in 1 decade out of the last 6 I'd say that this is the exact opposite of normal service.
  19. Agreed. Wasn't part of the reason he took the Scotland job because it meant he didn't have to reside permanently in Scotland and could spend more time with his family down south? There's no chance he will subject himself to this job.
  20. That's the best we've (Killie) played in ages so while it's gutting to lose a game we dominated at least there are shoots of recovery. Priority one in the morning is to teach players how to attach a cross though.
  21. Don't the winners of the premiership this season go straight into the Champion's League? I'd have thought he would want to have a crack at that as opposed to moving to Crystal Palace or Newcastle for example. Unless Liverpool and Klopp part ways.
