You're right. Some of the rubbish posted in this section of the forum must put a lot of people off.

It's highly unlikely a manager would make the jump from a Premier junior club to a senior club near the top of the Championship. So it's probably just a column filler in a newspaper. I'm just pointing out that his record is actually quite decent, especially this season (Pollok result aside) with a squad which isn't the best we've had recently. And it is his first management job.

He gets a bad reputation here of course, but much of it is exaggerated and his behaviour is certainly no worse than that of a lot of the players we watch on a weekly basis (although magnified as he is alone on the sidelines as opposed to surrounded by players on the pitch). And I suppose he should be setting an example as a manager. But the way people on this forum go on, you'd think he deserves to be tried at The Hague for his misdemeanours. But his record as a manager is pretty decent. Promoted out of the ADL after his first full season. Promoted into the top division at the first time of asking, where Kilwinning have remained ever since. Final of the West in 2015. Semis of the Scottish in 2016, quarters in 2017 and 2019. Last ever Ayrshire cup winners. And a more than decent start to this season. And all that amidst what seems to be neverending turmoil off the park.

But if they're unavailable to play for their own club they'll also be unavailable to be a trialist for another.

There must be more than that. Offhand I can think of Scott Ellis, Dean Park (both of which have several parks), Bellfield, Riccarton, Moorfield (although it's never used or cut for that matter), Burnpark. Then Astros at Grange, St Joseph's, Kilmarnock College. Glenfield used to have the best parks in the town before they abandoned it and let it grow wild.

Beechwood has also hosted a few Amateur cup finals over the last few years as well. Don't clubs have to apply to host finals though?

Is there an estimated timescale for the floodlights to be installed? I get that it's not a cheap or quick process.

What's the status of the building warrants for the new clubhouse? Once it's installed and had a few coats of paint it'll be some structure. Are the dressing rooms ultimately going to be contained within them?

While I wish them all the best, Talbot doing well in the Senior cup helps nobody but Talbot though. It makes absolutely no difference to any other team except to increase the disparity in revenue.

The fixture pileups might catch up eventually. I actually thought you guys were going to struggle badly last season but fortunately the winter was very mild and there were hardly any postponements. So although you were still playing league fixtures when other clubs were returning for pre-season it could have been a lot worse. All it takes is a bad month of rain or frost to add another 4 or 5 matches. Best thing you could do is field an under 16s team in the Scottish and concentrate on the league [emoji1]

We controlled the majority of the match, apart from that 10 min spell between 70 and 80 mins. And even then we were only really broken down once after the team switched off momentarily, clearly thinking (as did I) that it was job done. This was my first match of the season (shifts have prevented me from visiting the new park for a game) and I thought the new centre forward (Wilson) did really well. Still very raw but had a great touch and totally had the beating of the Meadow centre halves. Monti was the best player on the park and Agnew looked like he did 4 seasons ago. As an aside, the new shelters at Meadow Park are good, and will be very welcome in future poor weather, but unfortunately standing at the top of the hill gives you a restricted view now.

Buffs could quite easily draw Ardeer in the Scottish or West cups and the result would be the same. It doesn't make those competitions farces. The Ardeer of 4 years ago would have given the Buffs a test, and the Ardeer 4 years from now might do the same. They're going through a bad spell but it won't always be like this for them.

Yeah that's the one. I can't remember where I downloaded it from. It does seem a bit sharper in terms of image quality but as I say, I've not played about with it enough to really tell you 100% it's better.

I've got the Note 7 and it's fantastic. I upgraded from the Redmi 4X which I had for almost 2 years and had been equally as good, but was starting to slow down a bit. The bigger screen takes a bit of getting used to if you haven't had one as big before. But the dewdrop notch is fairly unobtrusive and it's fast, comes in great colours (although the supplied cover isn't the best so I've bought a new one) and the camera is decent. Speaking of the camera - I've downloaded GCam which is meant to be good, but I'm not a huge photographer so I haven't really played about with it too much. You won't regret getting one. Apparently the camera is better on the Pro version because of the Sony sensor but iirc it wasn't going to be compatible with the band for 02. Either way I'm really happy with it.

Week 1 - Celtic

He's better in front of goal when he doesn't have time to think about it. He can be very instinctive when scoring. But when he has the time to choose what to do he often hesitates.

New pitch looks superb - had a walk down the other day and it's taking shape well. I saw that there a clubhouse being purchased/saved from extinction - where will it be positioned and how on earth is it going to be moved??
