EU confirms that Poland will act as a hub to facilitate the transfer of arms to Ukraine. That'll be Poland with a big fucking bullseye on its back

Putin isn't going to go nuclear in Ukraine. This is purely posturing in reply to NATO's statementsThing is. Is he mad enough to use them on Ukraine and see if NATO have the bollocks to reply in kind? He may be calculating that NATO will shit a brick when he uses them.( which they will, of course).0 -
Anyone checked on the doomsday clock recently?

That's the spiritCan't see any other outcome than WW3 now - which would most probably be nuclear.2 -
I'm beginning to think that Putin might have fucked up here

They won't. Those on benefits and low income aren't coping at the moment. Factor in the price hikes and there's going to be millions of households absolutely crippled by this. I'm starting to think (probably wishful thinking) that this might be the tipping point and people will actually take to the streets to protest.Just got ours -From 1 April, our prices will be increasing
We're increasing our electricity unit rate from 20.382p to 27.838p per kWh and electricity standing charge from 24.856p to 49.646p per day.
We're increasing our gas unit rate from 4.010p to 7.335p per kWh and standing charge from 26.112p to 27.219p per day.
These prices all include VAT at 5%.
Crivvens! How are people on low fixed incomes meant to cope with this?0 -
If the cities and, in particular, Kiev are able to hold out for a few days I wonder if Putin would consider rolling out the heavy artillery. The missile strikes, on the whole, appear to be fairly targeted. Shelling civilians indiscriminately and levelling cities would turn what is already a fucking disaster into the stuff of nightmares

There's little to no chance that China will side with the West. Think the best that can be hoped for is that they remain relatively neutral in there stance which they appear to have been up to now.If he has now actually threatened Sweden and Finland, it has all ramped up several gears.
The key player in all this is probably still China though. If they could be persuaded to distance themselves from Putin and fall in line with sanctions, it would make a significant difference, as moving forward a lot of Russian trade will be designed to be done with China, with them losing out on European markets. Of course the size of China's military is somewhat important as well.
We need to reach a situation where it is essentially Russia/Belarus v Everyone Else. Time for America to scrabble around and see what serious diplomatic offers they can make to the Chinese.

He did although wouldn't state what kind of cyber attack would trigger a response. Gives him a bit of wiggle roomWait did he actually state this? I'm sure that historians in 100 years' time will be delighted to know that the all-out nuclear war of our century was caused by the combination of a wild NATO statement and some teenage VL hacker in Omsk.
The critical and as yet unregulated international framework for cyberwarfare should not be made up on the hoof at a fucking press conference. Stoltenberg is the most risible clown with a microphone since Clownshoes Leitch.0 -
You're about to receive the wrath of@TheScarf [emoji6]Putting this in a spoiler because it's quite explicit (mods, apologies if inappropriate and delete if so) but some of the footage is insane. f**k Putin

I was referring to his bizarre, rambling speech he made on Monday referencing the breakup of the Soviet Union. I wasn't being completely serious with my point but you have to admit that even for Putin this is pretty ballsy
I don't see how he's deviated from form. Not sure how people are reaching that conclusion.0 -
Just out of interest, what kind of checks and balances are there within the Russian military preventing Putin from pressing the button? Not suggesting for a minute that he will do so but he does appear to have become a bit unhinged recently

Apologies, will delete. Didn't realise it had been posted alreadyPeople posting 10 hour old twitter posts multiple times throughout this thread is always a great time.0 -
Nope, look at my last post. I've listed the price increases per unitTake in you are on a non fixed rate or this is the end of your current fixed rate. If not it will be an adjustment based on your consumption rather than a price rise.
Apologies, misread your post. Yeah, on a variable rate0 -
Ffs!!Direct Debit could rise to £1000 a month and is irrelevant. Only energy kw unit prices are relevant.
Like me saying I still put £40 of petrol in the car as usual so the price is unchanged.
Electric day energy (per kwh) rises from 21.89p per unit to 30.70p
Electric night energy (per kwh) rises from 15.44p to 20.18p per unit.
Estimated annual change £206.33
Gas unit rate (per kwh) rises from 4.01p to 7.33p
Estimated annual change £390.250 -
My heart goes out to you. It will mean cutting back on some crap but I'll be able to make the payments. Those on benefits and minimum wage are going to be absolutely screwed. Have a look on you're Local Authority website, there should be an energy advice team that might be able to help financially if you're strugglingI'm really worried about this, my main inclme is benefits which haven't risen in years. I work my allowed 15hr a week on min wage. I just don't see where I make up the extra 000's that's needed.

Offt!! Just received an email from SSE informing me that my direct debit payments will be increasing as of March. Gas has risen around £30 per month to £100 while my electric has risen by £16 per month to £60. All in it's an increase of around £600 for the year.

Offt! Got to give it to some of the Raith fans who have come out swinging tonight. Fair play, still utter c***s right enough.
To the rest of you guys, being
a Pars supporter, I'm pretty proud to be Fifer. The majority of you guys have handled this with the dignity and respect it deserves. Utterly appalling position you've all been put in and my heart goes out to you. Do the right thing and get these fuckers out your club!!6 -
I would suggest she's an actual woman who is working in the NHS. You are f**k allAbsolute bollox.
Nice attempt to misrepresent what actually happened though.
Wandering onto a thread you're not interested in and dishing out abuse to those who are chatting on that thread without having the courage to put out your own opinion and then taking offense when you get slapped down for doing so is the behaviour of a bellend.
You're in good company though.3 -
What a fucking p***k!She won't shag you either, m9.
If a woman or man posts utter 'haha moonhowlers!!111' drivel in this thread, it err, doesn't matter if they are female or male and I can put it down if I see fit. Utter wet wipes desperate for validation while screeching sexism is fooling nobody. Thanks anyway.3 -
Wow, a woman makes a comment on this thread and that's your response. Go f**k yoursel!!
She won't shag you, lads.7 -
