  1. I fair enjoyed the warm glow of success in February 2012, mate.
  2. Someone should have told your manager, your fans and the players that their treble hopes being dashed meant nothing. It seemed to pretty upset them at the time. And in all honesty, with the disparity in finance you should be winning the treble every year. You don't because your club is a failure. HTH, Hail hail.
  3. "Meant nothing" Right you are... It was a joke WRK. Settle yourself down to a mild riot auld yin.
  4. I don't know. You'll have to ask the guy that started the thread, m9. As for myself, I do enjoy a wee laugh when the richest club in the country with a huge fanbase stutters. Kilmarnock and Celtic have had one truly meaningful game in the last decade and Killie won it, so "the pain of defeat"? No quite buddy.
  5. Exactly. This is the "Lets all laugh at Celtic" thread, not the "Lets all laugh at a closet Celtic fan" thread.
  6. Missed this earlier Yup, I loved sponging off your treble glory in 2011/12.
  7. Jesus Christ Having spoken with the club earlier in the week for the podcast, I'm led to believe that the cost of policing is so high that the club wouldn't be making very much more from a Celtic game than say Hamilton if it was a flat £20. The charge from Police Scotland has went up this season too, and I wouldn't be blown away if we see more than a few Scottish clubs starting to get miffed publicly with the current arrangement. As for the tea bars, that would be all fine and dandy if we didn't hawk the contract out to Brownings, losing all profits in the process.
  8. I wonder if Div can confirm whether this guy is on P&B too? http://www.afc-chat.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=39414
  9. And your point is? Are you saying that clubs should make a similar amount from 500 Accies fans in comparison to say 4000 Celtic fans? If thousands of supporters from any club travel to an away game, the home club is entitled to make money from it. The ticket prices are in place, and nobody is forcing Celtic fans to come along and pay it. Every club in Scotland will more money when Rangers and Celtic come to town, and that's the way it should be. Only an Old Firm fan would say that smaller clubs should lose money they deserve because the away fans can't be trusted to behave. And before a Celtic fan comes across and says "you need oor money to survive" - we don't. If you suddenly vanished then we'd adapt and evolve. I agree with that. I think I'll stick to what I've seen as a resident in the area over what one guy saw during a seven minute walk to and from a bus. I've mentioned before some of the things that Celtic and Rangers fans get up to in the area before and after games, and I'm sure people that live around Firhill e.g. would attest to the same thing if any of them could afford a working internet connection. Celtic fans organised a boycott because we abstained from the Rangers vote and then filled two stands on their next visit. Most of the games between the two sides at Rugby Park lately have been midweek, which tends to lower a crowd anyway.
  10. What Celtic fans, including yourself, are missing is that when your club comes to town the cost of policing the game goes up substantially. For matches involving Celtic (and Rangers FWIW), Kilmarnock (and any other club) needs to pay for the police to cover: within the stadium itself; the turnstiles; the area immediately around the stadium; the streets surrounding the locus; local transport hubs i.e. train and bus stations. Given the size of crowds and their reputation for trouble, that can't be done with six or seven officers. If we look at the 2-2 game earlier in the season, Killie had to pay for police officers from Glasgow to bolster the local force. When every one of these officers has a set cost attached to them, which the club must cover, you can start to understand why ticket costs have to be increased. To put it into context, Kilmarnock have had games this season when we've needed no police officers to attend. Then we need to look at stewards. Each club has a contract with stewarding companies, and will specify in the build up to any game how many bodies they need. For an average league game, lets say against St Johnstone e.g. the breakdown is something like this... Three stewards at East Stand turnstiles. Three stewards at Frank Beattie stand turnstiles (home). Three stewards at Frank Beattie/Moffat Stand turnstiles (away). Two stewards per stand in prior to kick-off. Two stewards to police players/'VIP' entrances. So, that's about 15-17 stewards on any given Saturday. When Celtic come to town, that figure is per stand housing Celtic fans. This screenshot from the YouTube full-match coverage shows four police officers and four stewards policing two stairwells. If Celtic fans had a history of behaving impeccably then this wouldn't be necessary. Alas, having spent my childhood living on Scott Road, and having a mum who still stays there to this day, I can assure you that the policing is often still not enough. You mention the buses being parked "a fucking mile away", so can I ask why your support feels the need to pish in gardens, smash bottles or leave empty ones in gardens, break car windows, key cars etc during your 0.4 mile (7 minute) walk to your bus? Like a kid who wants pocket money but has been a wee arsehole lately - prove you can be trusted and then we can help you out. Until then, shut your fucking mouth about "Bhoycotts" or clubs "taking liberties" and worry more about you and your supporter's behaviour. There is after all, a reason why even a lot of season ticket holders don't attend games against you lot.
  11. Celtic fans have started a campaign to boycott Rugby Park. Bless them. https://www.facebook.com/events/515805371915311/ ETA - "BHOYCOTT". Never noticed that earlier
  12. Great to see the board make some steps to rectify the drop in attendances. Positive steps forward.
  13. Well it's obviously because he contributes so much to every conversation...
  14. To give Enrico some credit - you can't really blame him for going into hiding after a draw with Gary Locke's Kilmarnock.
  15. Take a picture of your Irish passport, with a sign next to it saying "OSMM - P&B". Otherwise, you'll just be another of the faux-Irish Celtic "crew" m9.
  16. Guy that scored against your team when you couldn't beat a Gary Locke side earlier in the season, mate. Awks.
  17. Anyway, it's good to see that you've rejoined P&B Phil Mac. How are those book sales going?
  18. And if Ireland weren't in Scotland's group, and our direct rivals for qualification, then nobody would have cared either. Mate, you're completely right. Honestly, all I want is to be able to go into my town centre, put a bet on the Irish lottery with a bookmaker from Dublin, before going for a Guiness in a drinking establishment that's theme is Ireland before going home to watch some GAA in peace. But can I just do those simple things? Fat chance in this bigoted little country.
  19. I'm guessing he means a generic Facebook post wishing "all our internationals" good luck, which included a picture of him tucked away at the end. Certainly no tweet specifically wishing Israel success. Anyway, why no support for Northern Ireland Enrico?
