  1. Noticed Darren Barr was mentioned as one of the academy coaches in that last academy update. Is it thee Darren Barr? The list of out of contract players below, I'd only really be looking to keep a hold of Telfer. Mutch is a decent keeper but I'd imagine he'll be on a fair whack at this level so it's probably time for him to move on. Dixon & Miller are both done, Taylor Sinclair & Ompreon are rotten, Griffiths hasn't been worth the money, Dowds will obviously be away and the youngsters clearly aren't fancied. Goalkeeper Robbie Mutch Defenders Paul Dixon Blair Sneddon Cammy Williamson Mackenzie Lemon Aaron Taylor Sinclair Midfielders Gary Miller Charlie Telfer Ben Weekes Strikers Leigh Griffiths Anton Dowds Samuel Ompreon
  2. Kabia's been a standout, argueably one of the best players in the league. Griffiths was a gamble we simply just had to take or Jaime Wilson was our only option as a sub upfront. Jacobs is a far better midfielder than Hetherington or Miller, I just think Rennie's mismanaged that one by constantly dropping him in and out of the team. He needed a consitent run of games. Watson was again a case of we simply had to sign him as there wasn't anything else on the horizon. Again I don't think the 5 at the back suits him at all, especially having to play with Mckay on one side and ATS on the other. ATS is a donkey so I'm not even going to try build a case for him. Mills is an 18 year old who's still in my opinion streets ahead of Mckay & ATS and I'd happily have him back in amongst the squad next season.
  3. I think he's capable of picking a decent player out and level headed enough to move others on without causing much of a fuss. I just don't think he has what it takes as a manager to then motivate or get the best out of the squad he builds. As Shagger has said it's a non starter but I think recruitment wise Rennie would do a decent job on the squad over the summer, I just don't then think he has what it takes to manage a title challenge.
  4. Just look at the state of that squad. Goalkeeper Paddy Martin (Is he injured?) - June 2023 Luke Holt - June 2023 Defenders Blair Sneddon - June 2023 Ryan Williamson - June 2023 Brad Mckay - June 2024 Leon McCann - June 2024 Cammy Williamson - June 2023 Mackenzie Lemon - June 2023 Paul Watson - June 2023 Midfielders Callumn Morrison - June 2024 Steven Hetherington - June 2023 Aidan Nesbitt - June 2023 Craig Mcguffie - June 2023 Seb Ross - June 2023 Ben Weekes - June 2023 Strikers Jaime Wilson - June 2023 Finlay Malcolm - June 2023
  5. Absolutely scunnered with it to be honest. Was out on Saturday and didn't even bother keeping an eye on the game as it's just a waste of happiness. We're rotten and although it's not Rennie's team he's had more than enough time to put his mark on it. 6 new players in January + Dowds, yes we've had injuries but he clearly doesn't have it in him to get a decent reaction from the players. Have we even won 2 games on the bounce under Rennie? Constantly talking about us picking up a run of results and it's never happened. The board now have a massive decision to make as Rennie's clearly not cutting it with the majority of supporters. Can we have him as head of recruitment and get someone who can actually manage as I don't think he's capable of turning the shit show on the park around. So many of that squad we'll struggle to move on due to that fuckwit Holt giving them long term contracts so even if we do get rid of Rennie who the hell's going to get a tune out of those players. Hetherington and Mckay being the main travesties.
  6. We've got to the stage now where is there really a point in trying to find a new manager given the state we are in, the players we already have contracted for the next few seasons and the last set of candidates we had for the job before Rennie got it. For me Rennie's recruitment has been far better than any of the last few managers and given it was a January window I've got to give him some credit for that. However how he's utilised those signings and managed games has been absolutely appalling. Continously throwing Brad Mckay and Gary Miller on from the start in the hope they've somehow changed and became half decent footballers. Leaving Telfer too deep to affect games properly. Even attempting Hetherington in from the start in the game away to Cove. ATS - 6/10 and is hopefully gone in the summer, slightly better than Hall & Mckay but not by much Mills - 7/10 young lad who's 18 and still miles ahead of Hall & Mckay Watson - 7/10 not been as good as we'd all hoped but again still miles better than Mckay & Hall and has chipped in with a few goals too Jacobs - 7/10 again hasn't been as good as we'd hoped but I put that down to Rennie playing hokey cokey with him starting some games and then dropped the next few. Still would rather have him than Hetherington or Miller. Griffiths - 7/10 isn't anywhere near the level he should be playing at but a gamble we really had to take given Wilson was going to be our only other option off the bench. Kabia - 10/10 outstanding player
  7. Wouldn't make sense for them to write him off publicly with 9 games to go especially when we need him to get results or we won't make the playoffs for a second year running. I think he'll be well aware he still has a point to prove this season. The sooner Kabia & Morrison are back the better as against the teams above us in the league we can't afford to play with the five at the back, especially given how weak our midfield 3 options are. Nice and transparent board update which is good, the only bit I didn't like was the lengthy bit at the start trying to convince us things have improved under Rennie when in reality we're still piss poor but obviously see the need in them trying to be positive.
  8. It's Gary Holt we're talking about, incentive based probably means they all get a 5% wage increase for keeping us in league 1.
  9. When Morrison's back fit for me we have to go to a 4 at the back. We're going to concede whether we play the 5 or not and the 4 at least allows us get players further up the park. Mutch Williamson Mills Watson Mccann Jacobs Morrison Telfer Mcguffie Dowds Griffiths/Kabia
  10. I've fixed that for you. It's another massive rebuild job in the summer so Rennie for me has the last 9 games to prove he deserves to be here next season. We've been playing just as bad under him as it was under Sheerin but as crazy as it is to say I actually think he's brought in better quality players. The playoffs are a lottery but given how we've performed against the teams above us this season even if we magically sneak into them there's no chance we'll go up. Especially with our midfield still being as piss poor as it is. Grim reading below. Goalkeepers Robbie Mutch - Out of contract Paddy Martin - June 2023 Luke Holt - June 2023 Defenders Paul Dixon - Out of contract Blair Sneddon - June 2023 Ryan Williamson - June 2023 Brad Mckay - June 2024 Leon McCann - June 2024 Cammy Williamson - June 2023 Mackenzie Lemon - June 2023 Aaron Taylor Sinclair - Out of contract Paul Watson - June 2023 Midfielders Callumn Morrison - June 2024 Gary Miller - Out of contract Steven Hetherington - June 2023 Aidan Nesbitt - June 2023 Charlie Telfer - Out of contract Craig Mcguffie - June 2023 Seb Ross - June 2023 Ben Weekes - June 2023 Strikers Leigh Griffiths - Out of contract Anton Dowds - Out of contract Jaime Wilson - June 2023 Samuel Ompreon - Out of contract
  11. Was just a year thankfully, our original post was 'we look forward to seeing you back in the summer' which has clearly been a copy and paste error as they amended the post a few minutes later to remove that.
  12. Would easily be the tamest murderball ever conducted. Surely to god were bringing in a midfielder today.
  13. Lewis Neilson an unused sub for Dundee United yet again today...
  14. Seb Ross gives you energy in the middle of the park but that's about it. Countless managers have came in and had Telfer playing far too deep to affect the game. When are we going to let him do what he does best and sit him in behind the strikers.
  15. Mills, Jacobs and Mccann need to start today. Mutch Williamson Mills Watson ATS Mccann Jacobs *** Telfer Dowds Griffiths *** Let Jean select a random fan out her tombola as there's an 80% chance they'll be a better option than the rest of our team.
  16. He was unlucky with injuries last year but I feel the main difference in him since his spell at Arbroath is he's learned how to put himself about and make more of a nuisance of himself. Last year in the games he did play he was a big friendly giant. Definitely won't be at us next season.
  17. The one with Quintongo in the second half where he would have been clean through was a shocker.
  18. We're getting destroyed regardless of what personnel we play so why not give something different a go.
  19. Get Dundee United's door chapped and get Lewis Neilson back in. More than capable of playing in the middle of the park given how good he was on the ball. 5-3-2 below simply because we know it's not going to change. Mutch Williamson Mills Watson ATS Mccann Neilson Jacobs Telfer Dowds Griffiths When Morrison's back(if he's back this season) against the teams above us in the league we need to go 4-4-2 as otherwise they just hem us in our own half and our wing backs never get forward enough to effect the game. Mutch Williamson Mills Watson Mccann Morrison Telfer Jacobs Mcguffie Dowds Griffiths
  20. I'm also not buying that we couldn't have managed a change from the 5 at the back last night we could have easily done it with just a few tweaks. Dixon off for Mccann push Mcguffie on one, Jacobs on for Miller and shift Nesbitt out wide right. Griffiths obviously had to come on to replace Kabia. Mutch Williamson Mills Watson Mccann Jacobs Nesbitt Mcguffie Telfer Dowds Griffiths
  21. I like your optimism but we've been waiting 10 years for things to improve. Time to plan for next season in league 1. Duncan was good tonight, makes it all the harder given we had Aberdeen's youth coach as our manager at the start of the season.
  22. Also liked the fact Lewis asked him if he ever contemplated taking off a defender and changing formation. That's like asking Santa if he fancies making Christmas the 27th next year. "We did consider it but we don't have the players to do that" whose fault is that given you've signed 6 players and pigeon holed yourself into having to play 5-3-2.
  23. One week he talks about continuity, getting a settled squad and us being a new team. Then tonight it's 'I felt I had to make 6 changes to the starting line up to freshen up' Best of all 'there are a lot of draws in this league'
  24. With all due respect you don't have the pleasure of watching us week in week out. He's signed 6 players which is more than half of your starting 11 and we've taken 11 points out of a possible 30. The performances aren't getting any better not even slightly and for all 10 of the games we've played the same formation for the full game regardless of what the score was or how we were playing which shows an extreme lack of adaptability. He was only signed on a 6 month deal so us talking about next steps isn't exactly groundbreaking news.
