  1. They broadcast all three European finals last year too. I think it's part of the rights that the final of the Champions League has to be available for free, no idea about the others.
  2. ↑ The Schofield stuff makes for interesting reading, but the tweets that show up below that one are loonball. Contrails, global conspiracy, world takeover by WHO/UN, climate change denial.
  3. Energy prices are falling, so the EPG won't be needed, but the forecast is for the price cap to not change much after July's initial drop. The bottom line is, this coming winter we'll likely pay the same as we did last winter (because we'll no longer get any Gov help), and that's double what we were paying a couple of years ago, at least if you were on a decent fixed tariff. Maybe things will get better next year https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2023/05/martin-lewis--the-energy-price-cap-will-fall-in-july--reducing-t/
  4. This appears to be the downside of people being much more aware of autism nowadays, people who think they have some personality/behavioural traits that are similar to some of the characteristics, so they must be autistic, or think that most people are maybe a wee bit autistic.
  5. I had to google it. At least Big Sam is box office.
  6. Apart from the obvious Lampard, who would you most like to see take their team down? I think Sellés is already down with Southampton, so two from Dean Smith, Sean Dyche, Steve Cooper, or Big Sam? With Allardyce's appointment, he's shot to the top of my list, plus its Leeds, they were only ever of interest with Bielsa in charge..
  7. I like Klopp, but he can be an arse quite a lot of the time. Acts like your best pal, then turns into a snarling dick when he's pissed about something.
  8. Have we ever had a life threatening emergency in the UK that an emergency text would've helped anyone avoid? By the time people are alerted to an emergency isn't it probably already over? My work have recently started sending out H&S alerts, usually for weather, oh no take care there's a met office yellow warning for wind, why bother? Predictably they've sent us an alert to let us know there will be a test of the Government's emergency alert system this weekend.
  9. I agree with this. The idea that people under 25 aren't fully developed and that they don't recognise the consequences of their actions might be true for some things but crimes against an individual, and especially violent crimes like this, that's nonsense. The judge did say that he chose against sending Sean Hogg to prison because "Prison does not lead me to believe this will contribute to your rehabilitation." Except that rape, and especially rape against a child, should always result in a prison sentence and rehabilitation can come after the punishment.
  10. Fair enough he deserves it then, but that aggressive eejit shouting "f**k you" in his face deserves more than a slap too.
  11. That's crazy, and what's even crazier is some of the replies in the quoted tweet saying the guy being interviewed deserved it 'cos "he put his hands on her first". Eh?
  12. Considering the below does give an answer to every single one of your points, this is clearly the response from someone who knows he has no comeback so is instead going to slither away while still claiming they are right and everyone else (except maybe CarrbridgeSaintee) is wrong.
  13. "parties with socially democratic traditions" Can you not read? Proven wrong with a nice wee picture to make it as simple as possible for you and you still struggle.
  14. Rubbish, there is a difference, in some cases small, but pretty much always a higher percentage of Scots have more socially democratic views. British Social Attitudes "research has indicated that Scotland is more socially democratic in outlook than England, though this difference is often smaller than common wisdom would suggest" Graph shows that support for parties with socially democratic traditions (Labour, Lib Dems and SNP) has been consistently higher in Scotland than in England since opening of the Scottish Parliament.
  15. Although of those 48 attempts at goal, only 11 were on target.
  16. Saw someone's Ovo deal on another forum, the unit rates are a bit lower than variable, but standing charge is higher, so it's a good saving for high users right now, but only at current prices, smaller saving for anyone else but as Todd_is_God said they will probably regret it if prices fall as they're forecast in July. Ovo fix is Electric 30.7p (61.5p standing charge) and gas 8.7p (28.9p standing charge) compared to 33.7p (50.6p) and 10.2p (28.4p) on their variable tariff. And £75 exit fee per fuel. Just seen Martin Lewis has an article on it now https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2023/03/ovo-fixed-deal-after-months-with-no-deals/?
  17. There might be something in making an effort to fit in but isn't it a lot to do with what age you are? If you move elsewhere as an adult you'll probably never lose your accent completely, but as kids you adopt the accent of where you are staying and are surrounded with pretty quickly. I was most disappointed that within six months of moving south a friends wee yin could no longer pronounce dreich.
  18. They are possibly comparing the variable tariff without the Gov's energy price guarantee and that's why it appears so much cheaper. My flexible tariff on my bill lists electricity as 64.00p/kWh, but with the price guarantee its only 31.84p/kWh. Could possibly be why they want to up your DD as their computer is just using the 64p price instead of 31p? If you know how much you use per year you can easily work out if you're paying enough, or if you don't owe them anything right now after winter, what you currently should be enough, especially since we're expecting lower prices from the summer onwards.
  19. The 10 pack of Aldi fish fingers are £1.89, and they have jumbo fish fingers for £2.89. Though online they do stock the Birdseye fish fingers and the 10 pack of them are £3.65. It feels like some of the price rises are just getting ridiculous now.
  20. Wasn't there a few stories recently that they'd lost 30,000 members this past year? Although from what I remember, there weren't any facts in these newspaper articles, they could almost have been written by that wings guy.
  21. That describes it perfectly. He had a piece on how the Scottish Government has been almost entirely surrendered to a tiny cabal of porno folk, addicts, prostitutes etc and proceeded to post his proof as tons of links to tweets of some individuals, the main one being a transgender activist, and how on occasion some SNP or Green politicians/members tweeted in support of trans rights groups and even liked or replied to some of that person's tweets. And stuff about the SNP equalities officer who had to apologise for posting abusive tweets about transphobes.
  22. Hasn't membership of the SNP increased massively since Sturgeon took over? She turned out to be an excellent politician and spokesperson for Scotland. She's probably had more successes and failures as FM, and she managed not to lose support within her own party and in the general public despite losing the referendum in 2014. The SNP's bubble could have burst after that. And her leadership has probably held the party together pretty well when you look at some of the rumblings in their leadership hopefuls.
  23. Also when you consider the wide news coverage of the Scottish Government trying (and possibly now succeeding?) in coming up with a pay offer that's acceptable for NHS staff, while the UK Government is practically refusing to engage with the NHS staff in England, it seems totally bonkers.
  24. That article is a depressing read. Nothing appears to have changed.
