Agreed. One of the most puzzling things about this is why Dundee haven't been confirmed as Club 12 yet. They were told they couldn't vote today, which made no sense as Rangers are already out of the SPL. Unless the SFA are worried about a legal challenge from the Pars. Now I'm reading today that all 30 clubs have to vote, no abstentions. Again, that can't be right, clubs can abstain, unless they're trying to drum up as many Yes votes as possible. We know where Ballantyne's sympathies lie. Once the SFL vote is confirmed that Rangers go to the Third Division, I can only see two scenarios: SPL2 immediately, with Dundee, Dunfermline and Falkirk up; Rangers in SPL2. Which would explain the above delay. "Fixtures meltdown". That would be staggering at such short notice. Rangers suspended for a year, which would neatly take in the SFA punishment on the disrepute charge, and give them time to sort out SPL1&2 for next season. Staggering again, as suddenly plans for SPFL, and a great future for the Scottish game, are abandoned for something completely different, with the SFL shafted. AGAIN. God, all this is down to one club. Let's hope some good comes out of it. I genuinely believe that the SFA fear for the top flight, and don't just want to save Rangers. They are terrified, in fact.

Thanks. Now I feel justified in wishing nothing but failure on the SFA/SPL. In fact, they are coming out of this worse than Rangers now. I think Rangers would bounce back, eventually, so what's the big deal? Maybe in the minority here, but I'd be happy for them to be humbled in the Third Division. I don't want to see them vanish altogether. That would be too swift. Years of suffering is much more fun.

No-one's actually come out and broken down in financial terms how Rangers in the Third Division is bad for Scottish football, unless I've missed it. Not that £16m loss shite, take it or leave it. Am I being naive here. If the fans were given more information on the financial implications, we might trust the SFA/SPL a bit more. But no, it's all up in the clouds somewhere, like rain. It may fall, it may not. Assuming it's the TV money, because surely any loss at the gate cannot be that huge.

They'll lose the BTC. Told that months ago. I'm sure that's what's influenced events so far, the fact that Rangers are so guilty of so many crimes that not even the SFA could turn a blind eye to it. Forget any semblance of recognition of their guilt by Doncaster. He is away with the fairies and it is only down to to the SPL chairmen that the SPL has kept some dignity. Doncaster has been so overwhelmed by events that he can barely keep upright. He's gone.

To be fair, Kilmarnock would be top of most people's list if asked who might suffer because of Rangers' corrupt practices. But they'll have to get through it or accept they've been living too close to the edge for years and sort it out. Tip: wait till the season's started and they can only hand you a whopping points deduction if you go into admin. As for Rangers, it's ta ta for now. Just as well they're going to the Third as they'd be out of their depth in the First. Mid table at best. What a hoot it would be to see them struggle in the First. Stick it right up the SFA and SPL chiefs. But I still can't square Regan's First Div stance with his comment that Rangers could "realistically expect a suspension".

Dunfermline can have the SPL place as far as I'm concerned. I'd feel better about it that way rather than getting the usual barbs thrown at us. Honestly, i mean that. Too little time to prepare for it all now. And, dare I say it, life in the First ain't all bad. And where's the campaign to get Dundee up?

Sorry if this was posted earlier today but didn't see it. Ewing Grahame goes for Longmuir's jugular. http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/330177/League-chief-faces-tough-questions Plus this is good too http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/spl/stuart-bathgate-shoehorn-rangers-in-and-all-credibility-is-lost-1-2387311

To show Traynor's depth and grasp of all things non-OF, he once devoted almost an entire 'Your Call' to a Barry Ferguson injury scare. On another point, I've been disappointed that Dundee have not condemned the Newco into Div 1 scenario, but suppose we're not in a position to condemn anything, with our recent history. Even fired off an e-mail to our CEO. Still hope he votes the right way behind closed doors!
