  1. Dear Jim, I'm sorry but this is simple and it only needs a few words to explain it. Rangers' 'financial meltdown', to quote someone from last week, and subsequent liquidation means they are no longer a member of the SPL, and the newco will have to start again by applying to the Third Division. Anything else is pure speculation and melodramatic nonsense. Plenty of clubs have their house in order, and have no need of the Old Firm to survive. For those who might struggle to adapt to this exciting new era, welcome to the real world. Deal with your debts and become self sufficient, rather than pandering to, and perpetuating, an Old Firm stranglehold which only exists because you allow it to.
  2. You've hit the nail on the head there. Enjoy Rangers' innocence while it lasts....
  3. This is classic footage. Read somewhere that this was prompted by Green saying to Brown he'd be better off demolishing Ibrox than selling to him. Anybody else remember Captain Scarlet? Forget Thunderbirds, this was the best of that puppet bunch. Real adult stuff. For anyone scratching their heads, there were Captains Scarlet, Black, Blue and Ochre (?). Then Col White and Lt Green. OK, had to look it up to get the detail there.
  4. Got a feeling Celtic won't have it all their own way now, on or off the park, without their Glasgow 'pals'
  5. So Oldco to Div 1, then they are liquidated and the Newco has to apply to the SFL and start in Div 3 - if accepted. Don't see any other outcome to that 'plot'. Is it a cunning ploy to keep Dunfermline in the SPL?
  6. They were a pathetic bunch of ponces. Dundee: about 15 staff (9 players?) out within days. Sorry, forgotten CVA company. Rangers: 2 leave of their own accord. It's as if Rangers were too big to have a really serious crisis. It's all fine, really...F**k off. After our experiences, I wanted to see them suffer. I wanted blood! And now they're paying the price. Pissing about has cost them millions in lost transfer fees. D&P should be put out of business.
  7. Dundee United manager Peter Houston says the Rangers crisis has prevented him from making a fifth summer signing. Full story: The Sun The good news keeps on coming
  8. A few questions. How are the SFA going to punish Rangers on the disrepute charge? It's the 12-month signing embargo or the Cup suspension going by the 'complete financial meltdown' Armageddon prediction. Rangers have a case to answer over the dual contracts. How are the SPL going to punish them? Surely the oldco can't be reinstated to the SPL? If they are, that's at least £800,000 to Hearts for Lee Wallace. I'm sure more will come to me
  9. Not been a good day. Had £10 on Germany to win Euros. I've got 200 Barclays shares. Now this. Very depressing, even if Dundee are getting 'promoted'. Well done Rangers. If you're going down, you're taking Scottish football with you. As Gordon Smith said, your conduct is embarrassing.
  10. Brilliant. Can we put Celtic there too. In Serie C2 I mean? See how far your threats get you there.
  11. This can't be true. What's the point of having a voting system then? One body for the game and Rangers down into Div 3, simple. No more slimy SPL. Alternatively, because we don't want to see any clubs go out of business, tell us how bad it is. Want to see figures for those clubs who are up shit creek. No hiding place. OK, partly driven by the fact that we were humiliated.
  12. This is last week's story, containing sloppy journalism like Rangers being 'relegated'. Liked the bit about 'pervious' club though. The SFL clubs will all have a vote on this, and The Rangers will have to start in Div 3 once their hopes are dashed for Div 1. Disgraceful behaviour by the football authorities nevertheless. What are Livingston thinking about this? Let's get back to the John Brown videos. By far the most hilarious thing about this shambles. Comments on here have been brilliant. Can someone bring out a DVD of Brown addressing the masses from the steps of Ibrox please? With subtitles.
  13. Berwick, Stranraer, Albion Rovers, Brechin, Stenhousemuir. Teams with fewest fans. 1964 Wasn't aware of it all. In Tuesday's Scotsman.
  14. So Green can sell Murray Park to anyone he wants? For redevelopment or anything. Then he can sell Ibrox to whoever wants to buy Rangers, whose assets are minimal and are worth practically nothing?
  15. Dundee Mad has a thread about Sevco buying Cowden. Exactly the scenario I visualised/fantasised about a couple of months ago, but I thought, no......they're in trouble but it'll never get that bad! Cowden just seem so vulnerable, and there's the Findlay connection. I'd accept that as long as the name was non-negotiable. So Cowdenbeath play at Ibrox. In Rangers' colours, yeah, that's ok too. Nah, dreaming again....
  16. I feel now the battle to give Rangers a good kicking has been won. It's now a question of sitting back and observing how the hell they are going to put out a team, and where, next year. Anything now is an anti climax I think, even them starting up again in the Third. Maybe not existing at all would top anything that has gone before. But we're half-expecting that now too. Is there anything that would shock us now in this saga?
  17. Just had it confirmed that K Jackson is a Rangers fan. Should he not be kept away from all this until it blows over? (Don't suppose it ever will in our lifetimes)
  18. Well, at least he's consistent! Pleased to hear the news nevertheless. Not a cat in hell's chance of The Rangers being in the First next season now. Some Third clubs might vote No out of self-interest, and why not. Plus let's hope the 1964 grudge is still bwing held.
  19. How can Traynor say they admitted liability on the small tax case, so that's the end of the EBT case? If that's what he was saying. Is it not implicit now that they have lost the BTC? It should be explicit to shut these idiots up. Thrust of Jackson's argument was that Rangers were being excessively punished for not paying their taxes, and EBT case has yet to be decided. So please HMRC make it official that they are guilty of a £100m tax fraud so we can move on. And Jackson goes on about a 'minority' of fans convincing their clubs to vote No. 14-year0old youths in attics etc. Sorry, but I did listen to the end...
  20. That'll do me. But would clubs not lose revenue as a result? And some clubs might go bust without it.
  21. I'll miss Chick if it's all true. He talks a load of pish at times, but would have loved to hear his reaction to what's happened to the former Rangers. As it is, Traynor will have to do.
