  1. A poor game yesterday but a welcome result. We are lacking up top and we are nowhere near the threat especially in the wide areas that we need to be. I always thought Roberts came to life and played his best football beside Miko especially January onwards last season. Hopefully some additions in soon but a welcome result and unbeaten.
  2. His team's are never pretty but are effective. From the outside looking in, I felt he deserved better backing at Arbroath when the going got tough. A character and a genuine football man. The game is better with guys like them still working
  3. I note Alan Trouten banged in a hatrick yesterday against a championship club. A truly superb Alloa player and in my opinion, was allowed to leave far too early. A mistake.
  4. Coulston is a great player with development potential. He was coming good for us and would hate to see him regressing with a lack of game time. Easily Championship potential and a player who thrives on confidence which Andy Graham obviously instilled in him. He was drifting out under Brian Rice but big Andy got his form back on track and he had an excellent end of the season with us. Good luck to him if he goes , cannot grudge him a full time gig . Best wishes and thanks. Owen
  5. The most technically gifted player I have ever seen at Alloa . Absolutely superb for us once he got himself fit. Flannigan I am talking about.. great player
  6. Especially with the likes of Stirling and Edinburgh out of the division..weak outfits and struggling
  7. Coulston has been excellent for us. Another great young player. He would always start for me . He will only get better and better
  8. Totally agree. I am disappointed that Stirling have been relegated. A great derby fixture lost next season.
  9. Guy is the real deal. He's well good enough for the SPL. I remember everyone questioning Lawrence Shankland when he was banging them in at Ayr. Guy was always good enough. We had Iain Flanagan a few years back and the guy was absolute class and could easily have played full time. Too many good players in the championship and lower levels are overlooked whilst the SPL with many cheap foreign imports and players from English youth academy's get parachuted in. Taylor is SPL class as was Bobby Wales. Sutherland needs another season with us or indeed a championship team on loan .
  10. Taylor will have his pick of clubs. Too good for st Johnstone now they will struggle to keep him. A superb young player
  11. Left feeling gutted yesterday as it's definitely a lost opportunity. Looking back over the 2 games , the goals we lost have been abysmal over the tie and despite us playing well and being excellent middle to front. Our defence across the whole season has let us down. We have been one of the top scoring teams in the country since Andy Graham took over but the goals conceded have dragged us down. The playground sending off aside, across the tie we have conceded poor avoidable goals that accies really didn't need to work hard for. Playing left sided midfield players at left back has given us a weakness despite how good we are going forward. This aside , a superb display yesterday from the young Alloa team fighting right to the end. Andy has certainly given us our team back and lifted the post pandemic malaise especially after the bazza experiment. I am looking forward to next season .
  12. All the best for next Saturday guys. As an Alloa fan I hope you stay up and avoid the play offs. I have enjoyed seeing the Alloa v Stirling derby back on our calendar it's been missing for far too long. I may be in the minority with the rest through here but best wishes and good luck. Even Rocky needed Apollo Creed and there is nothing wrong with a good football rivalry. Owen
  13. We were at 60% today . Still an enjoyable game but both teams really not showing their hand . Agree looked like a pre season game with all the subs. Least a few of our guys got a run out who haven't played for a while. Great to see Cawley, Robbo and Herrington get a start. All are still great Alloa players
  14. Young guy is excellent. Special praise to young Coulston too he has been excellent for us over the last month. Terrific partnership on the left with Sutherland. I hope Coulston is one that's signed up for next season he is getting better and better.
  15. We need to keep the momentum up and give everything in these last 2 matches. Goodwin insisted on this in 2018 and it paid off. Momentum and confidence is everything in the play offs and I wouldn't b resting anyone
