  1. Agree that Rutherglen have some quick forwards and played well. I think you got the rub of the green to be 4-1 up, I couldn't quite believe it. We got the rub of the green back eventually with the massive deflection for our second goal. After that, it was one way traffic. Chris made the right substitutions, the boys keep going attitude and great fitness levels told in the end, what scenes at the last minute winner. A feature of our play last night was great crossing, constantly put the keeper under pressure. Credit to Rutherglen for a game under the lights, added to the atmosphere on a bleak night weather wise. Great banter too with the Glens fans next to us in the covered enclosure. Best of luck for the rest of the season. £6 well spent, gotta love junior football.
  2. To be fair, Chris has toned in down a good bit and was easily out shouted by his Benburb counterparts yesterday. Buffs Park pitch is very good.
  3. This thread serves no purpose at all. Revert to the Buffs main thread. For what it's worth, time is a healer, the Buffs have started well, the non attenders will come to New Buffs Park when they realise what they are missing.
  4. A solid derby win today. The game should have been over by half time. Two good goals, a team goal finished by Agnew and a brilliant free kick from Carlo Monti. A bit of slack defending made the last few minutes edgier than they needed to be. Altogether another good team performance and another win where we lost last season. Benburb up next, onwards and upwards COYB.
  5. I thought Dalry had got their pitch in order. Been dry all morning in North Ayrshire.
  6. Good post, see Buffs thread elsewhere in here.
  7. Let's see those people and more getting behind the team home and away. Everybody associated with the club has done a great job to get us over to KSC over the summer, it's been great to see. However, I want to highlight the team that Chris and Barry have constructed on the park. Last season we had a small squad that toiled at times, the team was pretty stale. This season, we have prepared comprehensively during pre season and put together a group of players who work very hard for each other, who have bags of skill and ability. There is a goal threat all over the team, rock solid defence and strength in depth. In my opinion, this is a Buffs team that has real potential, but they need the support of the Kilwinning people to realise that potential. So come on folks, let's get behind the Buffs and see where it takes us. We've had positive results against Clydebank and Talbot so far, we lost both of these fixtures last season. We've Medda today, who we lost twice to last season so a big measure as to where the team is at this afternoon. COYB. Onwards and upwards.
  8. Good test for the new Buffs team against the champions. Pretty even first half, Talbot upped the pressure second half although we did have our chances. A point was fair in the end. Our defence was rock solid. Medda up next, onwards and upwards COYB
  9. Looks unlikely, so bring an umbrella as Buffs covered enclosure isn't in place yet.
  10. The young keeper played well. Ardeer never stopped and, despite the result, something for the manager to build upon. Always a pleasure to watch Joe Young as well, a fantastic player, wonder why he never came to Buffs, I believe we approached him on a couple of occasions over the years. Buffs are shaping up well. Certainly been one of the most comprehensive pre seasons for some time. Looking forward to seeing what this new team can achieve.
  11. Ha ha, that's one of the most surreal posts I've read on here in a long time. Onwards and upwards.
  12. Buffs played well, the team has had a comprehensive pre season and is shaping up nicely for the season ahead.
  13. How can Darvel be hated? A wee club from East Ayrshire who have had years of mediocrity, now with a wee bit of cash behind them have an opportunity to achieve something. I say good luck to them and in particular the small band of people who've been associated with the club following them through thin and thin. Any hate towards them, if there is any, is down to jealousy based upon the financial input of the pie man.
  14. Buffs won 10-0 against an understrength Girvan side. Great people at Girvan, best of luck for the season ahead.
  15. Happened at Buffs. Hurlford similar. Whilst Darvel might win their league this season with the pie man's money, they'll still be a small club, there aren't hundreds of new Darvel fans waiting to pile through the turnstiles. Good luck to them, especially the long standing fans who've followed them through thin and thin. Who can deny them their potential moment of glory?

  18. Boylan has pace to burn, that's his biggest asset. He can score goals, but often takes the harder chances, missing the easier ones. His touch is questionable at times and his temperament often gets the better of him, he can't keep his mouth shut. Sloan will impart his experience to Bryan, maybe make him a more complete player if Boylan is to get s regular game for Talbot.
  19. The new Brian Jonestown Massacre self titled is epic. Hats off to Anton Newcombe.
  20. Another excellent cover from Ezra ...
  21. Agree that the new record is a bit harder to get into. It's like he's pausong for a breather before going again with the next one. Given his output, the next one should be a long next year probably. When the support was on, he was front stage watching a few feet from me. I wasn't aware that he is gender fluid, so his red dress and bright lipstick certainly stood out!
  22. Yeah, maybe not a star in terms of sales, but a star in terms of the quality of his song writing and the effort he puts into his gigs, he gives everything to his audience. In a perfect world he would be a huge star, instead of all the drosd that sells big these days.
  23. Went to see Ezra Furman at ABC a couple of weeks before the fire. I had no expectations as I was only there as a favour to a friend who was a big fan. The guy literally blew me away, one of the best gigs I've been to. Eclectic in style, from 50s pop to punk and everything in between. Any love for Ezra in here? If you are interested try Day of the Dog or Perpetual Motion People first. The best emerging singer songwriter for me and potentially a huge star, that with a fairly substantial back catalogue already.
