  1. I always liked the phrase 'f**k off you tedious c**t' personally but each to their own I suppose.
  2. Fucks sake, I now have to actually interact with c***s with words and stuff to express my contempt for them. Brutal.
  3. It seems very Big Brother house that catwalk, would be an interesting season if they set the show in a football ground...
  4. The contrast between the Rangers and Hibs (or Hibernian as they insisted of calling them) goals is hilarious. Going from HAAAAAAALLLLIDDAAAAYY ,GO ON, ONE OF OUR OWN to oh naw, headed home by David Gray 3-2 Hibernian. is just lovely. You can sense the hurt.
  5. The only way you could be less fit as young professional athlete than the above is if you either are in a medically induced coma or be Mark Yardley in disguise. Both would be equally surprising to be playing a closed doors friendly in Alloa in the year 2017.
  6. Couldn't help but notice they've done the floodlights in the same shape as their (fucking ugly) badge. Certainly makes it a bit more unique. Meanwhile in America, the MLS is expanding once again, with 12 teams going for 4 spots. Here's the proposals that have been publicly released Tampa Bay Rowdies (A former minor league baseball ground) St Louis Indianapolis Eleven Sacramento Republic San Diego Detroit Phoenix Rising Other bids with no stadium pics released: Cincinnati, San Antonio, Charlotte, Raleigh, Nashville
  7. At least Warbs was very respectful in trying to engineer a move down south, resign and then come crawling back when it fell through.
  8. Falkirk fans are weird slating Hughes seeing as he is their only active manager to actually achieve anything of note. Guess they are just happy being slightly better than mediocre these days. On the face of it, a cracking appointment for Raith.
  9. It's quite frustrating to have this gap between league games as we have just started to get into our stride and also Raith Rovers will surely have realised that Gary Locke is an imbecile.
  10. Maybe we're turning Dalbeattie into a proxy team loaded with loan players like Hearts with Cowdenbeath, Celtic with Hibs and Livingston with HMP Barlinnie.
  11. It takes some doing to be the worst owner in the NFL but Jed York might have beaten out a man who has relocated to an MLS ground, a man who finds the term 'Redskins' to not be offensive and several actual crooks.
  12. It seems a bit strange though the article I read didn't really give any reasons why they weren't happy with the proposal so there could be something else at play. Even if it was just a token gesture it would probably look a lot better than just outright rejecting the notion. I don't necessarily want a fan who has their own personal power hungry agenda making the decisions but a non voting person who doesn't have past links with the existing board would at least provide some accountability and openness which I think is definitely needed especially after the past year. As an outsider looking in, it appears like they have something to hide. The frustration at the way the issues around the first team and the clubs structure are being handled is showing a bit more but not in anything meaningful other than grumbling on a message board really. The board being difficult with the supporters trust might change that, though at this stage a fans group would need a lot of money to buy out a profit making business with a fair few assets.
  13. On the face of it seems like a bloody dreadful appointment. He hasn't got any experience in scouting or personnel outside of commentating. This has shades of a Matt Millen standard of appointment.
  14. That's why I've got him pretty far down the regular starters, I forgot to put in that coming from such a low standard beforehand he could only improve, which incidentally is the same thought process I put towards my attempts at playing 11 a side football...
  15. To be fair to Darren, Kyle Hutton got player of the year so there isn't a high bar and he is one of the few players to have improved over the last two years whereas the rest have ended up in Airdrie. If I had to rank it 1. St. Stephen 2. Kyle Jacobs 3. The entire January Transfer Window 4. Derek Lyle 5. Andy Dowie 6. Jordan Marshall 7. Jamie Hammill 8. Darren Brownlie 9. Lee Robinson 6089406929015030 - Mark Millar
  16. James Fowler must genuinely think he's the second coming of Claude Makelele if he is helping to bring him to St Mirren. I think the pressure of managing at Queens might have caused him to lose his damn mind.
  17. Good news everyone, we've already beaten last seasons away points total by 2 points with 6 games to go. #progress
  18. I fucking love this thread, I don't know if I just like shiny things but I just find following the progress on stadiums to be weirdly satisfying. One glance at this thread and I always seem to end up on Skyscraper City looking at the progress of some Ecuadorian team's ground. I'm concerned that I'm sliding down into the Hibee Jibee levels or nerd.
  19. What exactly is the difference between reserve team football and Under 20s? I'm pretty sure overage players are allowed to play anyway. Other teams are able to produce players in the current system at similar levels of budget. I'm not especially knowledgeable about youth development but there are a lot of concerning things to me at Queens and probably in general in Scotland. Firstly why are so many of the youth players are simply not physically ready to cope with senior football? I'm not expecting them to be shredded like Derek Lyle, but some upper body strength and conditioning would not go amiss. The point of having a youth team is to prepare them to be able to push for contention in the senior team so if they aren't physically ready then that is a failing on either the club for not being able to offer a gym session during training, emphasising that as a professional footballer, it's your job to be as athletic as you possibly can be, or the players for not taking the responsibility for themselves if are actually provided with conditioning and nutrition plans. Though it's not exactly a secret that you have to be a pretty good athlete as well as a good technical player to go far these days. There can be the suggestion that the failings come down on the coaches, i don't necessarily know if it is or not, but if Jake Pickard is seemingly unable to successfully complete a 10 yard pass then there is a fundamental issue here. Also we could be using the loan market more effectively rather than as a means to soften the landing for releasing a player. Giving Moxon, for example, 5/10 minutes here and there isn't particularly beneficial to him unless it builds to something. IMO the reason the last crop of players developed so well was partly the coaching from Johnston and McIntyre and mainly from playing in a good team at a level that they were able to play at. It somewhat unlikely that we aren't going to be dropping down to playing part time jobbers this season so guys like Moxon/ Hooper would have been better off playing 90 minutes and impressing rather than being cheap bench fodder. If they can grasp the opportunity at a lower level then it can hopefully lead upwards. I'm not saying fling them into the juniors to play against hammer throwers as that standard is worse than the Under 20s but getting players who are at the stage of needing game time at a league1/2 club is the idea. Naysmith in a short space of time has managed to point out some home truths about the club on the playing side, in that they haven't really given it the attention that it deserved or worse have been in denial about the process. He might have the answer and he might not but I'd trust the man who has first hand experience playing at a high level to know what is required to be successful more than the rest of the non playing staff at the club.
  20. Can't say I'm distraught really about Pickard, he clearly wasn't good enough for a Championship midfield or attack. The only thing he had in has favour was that he was the only youth player to have a decent physique but he wasn't technically able on the ball or quick enough to make that effective. The amount of times he got away with a booking for a late tackle seemed very high. Who knows what dirt he had on James Fowler to keep on picking him?
  21. It's a stadium in London, they can charge as much as they want seeing as there's enough people with money to spend to buy that stuff, plus for a new stadium they've got things that fans say they want, a giant single tier, closer to the pitch and to have good acoustics. Not to mention they built a school, a college and affordable housing as part of the overall project. I'd say West Ham getting a stadium off the public at an embarrassingly low price that doesn't accommodate the supporters and Hull charging full price to children as much worse things that are wrong with modern football. Spurs charging lots of money for things rich people want to have is pretty sensible business decision seeing as they are spending over £700 Million more than West Ham have.
  22. Zenit have almost completed construction of the new death star stadium on Krestovsky Island. First game is meant to be in April and it is hosting the opening game of the Confederations Cup.
  23. I'd let him off with the second one seeing as Marshall heads it to him from fairly close at an awkward height, the third is just poor all round from a defensive point of view with the cross coming in too easily and Marshall not stopping Murray along with Brownlie getting out-muscled far too easily. The first goal he is always up against it with the way he's positioned, he slows down in order stand up to Murray whilst trying to twist around and Murray outsmarts him by knocking it other way and is far too quick for Brownlie to do anything about it when he's the last man with nobody able to cover. His main saving grace has been that Higgins has been worse, so barring signing anyone competent, we can hope for the attacking football to last as we sure as hell can't defend.
  24. Fun Fact: In two games, Joe Thomson has managed to outscore the rest of the CM's we have had in the league by 2 to 1 and is 2/3rds of the way towards passing Mark Millar's all time Queen of the South goal tally.
