Again if there was actually any evidence of a vast swath of youth players leaving our system and going onto bigger and better things then I'd agree with you, but there's not, so I don't. Unless you think we are single handily ruining careers of youth footballers who were destined to make it until Motherwell decided they wouldn't give them a game. Of corse we're not, don't be so fucking ridiculous.

See where your logic unfortunately falls down is that the closest thing to missing out on a decent player from our academy through lack of game time is Steven Lawless, hardly a superstar. Here's a novel thought; if there's a player in the youth setup good enough for the 1st team he'll get a game sooner or later. There may be an issue in that our recruitment at youth level hasn't been good enough and we therefore haven't seen perhaps the influx of youngsters to the 1st team that you want. Even that I'd challenge though as we've got Cadden as a 1st team regular. Gordon, Maclean and Campbell in and around the 1st team and will clearly be given opportunities this season. Even Kipre, whilst not coming through our system, is a 20 year old with potential clearly being considered for the 1st team.

Putting aside Ya Bezzers strange Thomas related rants, he currently has at least Frear, Cadden, Tanner and Maybe Maclean in front of him for a starting place. We all hoped he would come good as he clearly had potential at U20's level but just hasn't showed enough or anything at all really at 1st team level. Apart from turning the game against Stirling in a pre season If Robinson didn't need to bin a few players in order to bring new ones in then I'd probably be in the 'last chance saloon' camp. But as things are it seems best that the lad has a fresh start. eta. he also comes across a complete dobber on twitter, so there is that.
