  1. Yeah he has. I've no idea whether we were in for him or not. But he's nearly 34 and been out the Scottish game for a few years, I'm not convinced Robinson would have been after him.
  2. Robinson already said that he'd only bring someone if they're better than what we have. He also has a tendancy to sign younger players and move guys on when they get the wrong side of 30 if they're not playing every week. Whilst I'd have been quite happy with either (or both) of Main and Greg Stewart, I'm not sure they fit the mold of what Robinson looks for.
  3. The SNP aren't the only party to tell their faithful comforting lies but it would be refreshing for at least one party to be a bit more honest, even if it cost them a few votes in the short term.
  4. I agree with the second point in here, the bar for another referendum is higher - you can argue whether that's right or wrong, but it's true. I think if support for independence became so overwhelming, then it would be impossible to ignore. The SNP themselves spoke about getting it consistently above 60% in the past. If the SNP (or a combination of pro independence parties) hit those type of numbers for a few elections on the bounce (Holyrood, Westminster, Holyrood for example) then it couldn't be ignored. Even hitting, say, c. 55% consistently would be hard to ignore. At the moment, it's pretty easy for whoever is in power at Westminster to point at the SNP's popular vote in elections as never getting over 50%. The percentage of people who voted yes in 2014 and the percentage of people who have voted for pro independence parties in elections since then has stayed pretty static - maybe increased by a couple of percentage points, and will likely go down a bit at this years election. The SNP need to be more honest with their hard core support, that independence isn't just round the corner, but that they're trying to grow support for it so it can't be ignored. But they're worried that'll lose them voted to the likes of Alba.
  5. Finished the new series, I liked it but I'm not sure how much I liked it and I can't really put my finger on why. Did anyone spot the link to previous Fargo series? Was there one?
  6. Yousaf has never struck me as someone who has particularly strong values, seems like he got into politics for the career (and maybe for a bit of fame) and picked a party on the rise. If he'd been born 10 years earlier he'd have joined the Labour Party.
  7. I've read his 'Don't Look Back in Anger' which I thoroughly enjoyed, I've been meaning to get to his other stuff. Didn't realise he had one out about 2 Tone. I'll add it to my list. Cheers.
  8. This (from the BBC site) is the only thing that would concern me about Main. Since the end of last season he's hardly kicked a ball. I've no idea what the standard in India is like but those stats are dreadful. I'm guessing he just never settled there. That said, I'd absolutely have had him back in Paisley. There will be a few centre halves who won't be relishing coming up against him again as he bullies defenders for fun.
  9. What I would say about Main, is that since leaving us he's played about half a dozen games. Whilst he'll no doubt be in brilliant shape, there's no guarantee he'll be up to speed for playing games in our league. I'd have liked to have seen him back and I'd rather he wasn't signing for a direct rival, but there's a chance that we'll see the Curtis Main from his first season with us, rather than the one we saw bullying defenders last season.
  10. Yeah, he's certainly not set the heather alight. I've got no idea about the standard of Indian football though. It must be such a massive change though, and with his family still in Scotland he maybe just never settled.
  11. He does keep himself in good shape to be fair, but I can't imagine he'll get offered much more than that anywhere. I think the reason he went to India was because no one offered him a long enough contract here, so why not head out there for a bit of a bump in wages? It's a shame for him that it hasn't worked out.
  12. Saw his name mentioned on the Motherwell thread too. I imagine he'll go to whoever offers him the longest contract as I can't see there being a massive difference in wages between all these clubs. Pretty sure his family still live in Renfrewshire, so that might come into consideration when he decides where to go.
  13. I think your first sentence is a misrepresentation of what's been said. No one's saying that it spells trouble for him, rather highlighting some obstacles he'll face in winning the election.
  14. Curtis Main has left his team in India. Wonder if Robinson will try to bring him back?
  15. You do yourself a disservice by parroting Trump lines.
  16. I don't think McGowan getting a cap is particularly far fetched when you remember than Ian Black managed to get one around that time.
  17. Surely they do. Whilst he won pretty comfortably last night, he got 51.1% of the vote. That suggests that half of Republicans in a very conservative state aren't convinced by him. CNN ran a poll at the caucus that asked if Trump is convicted, is he still fit to be President. 63% said yes, whilst that's an absurdly high number it still says that more than a third of Iowa Republicans don't think he's fit to be President (assuming he is convicted). This makes me confident that independents and even a chunk of more traditional Republicans won't vote for Trump.
  18. Has his whole campaign been angling to become Trump's running mate?
  19. So there's no point in voting for someone, because the others will get back into power at some point in the future? Sorry, but that makes no sense. Vote for the party/candidate that closest aligns to your values, or that you think will do the best job, when each election comes around. There will always be cycles in politics. If everyone took that opinion then no one would vote. Would you tell a left leaning American there's no point in voting Democrats in November as the Republicans will get back into power at some point? I say all this as someone who is not particularly inspired by the current Labour Party. They are still infinitely preferable to the Conservative party.
  20. Hiwula got binned from Ross County in the summer and hasn't played since. I'd be surprised if we're looking at him.
  21. There's absolutely no chance of that happening. I'm pretty sure he said he was quite glad to be away from management, I also imagine he'll be on more money there that Ayr could offer. He'll also see himself as too big to drop down to a team scrapping at the wrong end of the Championship.
  22. Asked a few boys I know who live in Korea if they knew anything about Kwon. This was the response; "Not seen too much of him but he was highly rated and got his military service out of the way early (usually a sign that the player is a good prospect). I think he's a bit box to box. Celtic probably signed him too soon. Definitely needs games" I'm looking forward to seeing him play. I also wonder if it will get us any exposure in Korea. Their sports channels tend to just focus on where Korean players are playing (Spurs, Wolves, Bayern Munich, PSG, and now Celtic). While we won't be live on TV in Korea every week, we might get on the highlight reels. Edit: just to clarify before anyone jumps in, I'm not expecting any modest exposure in Korea to see Samsung or Hyundai want to invest, or shirt sales take off in Seoul.
  23. I'm inclined to agree that Ferguson gets in the current Scotland team. I think because he's a 'Rangers man' a lot of fans of other would balk at giving him too much credit. Whilst I get that, I can't deny that he was a top player and an excellent player for Scotland. I remember a couple of games against Italy where he was probably the best player on the park.
  24. Funnily enough I've been to a Busan IPark game and a few games in the Korean second tier. Busan IPark got relegated a few seasons back and were close to promotion this year. He also played for Gimcheon, who are the armed forces team that players play for when they're doing national service. They got promoted back to the top flight this year. So whilst he's played mostly in the Korean second tier he has played at the top end of that and for two years of national service he's obliged to play for Gimcheon. It's difficult to compare K League 2 to Scottish football. In the warmer months the game is played at a snails pace, but it is quite fast paced when the temperature drops, and it's pretty physical. There are quite a lot of midfielders that I would describe as 'neat and tidy', good first touch and pop the ball 5/10 yards. A pretty long winded way of saying I wouldn't look too much into the fact he's mostly played second tier in Korea. He must have something about him if Celtic paid a fee and I'm guessing Celtic will be covering some of his wages. Seems a pretty low risk signing.
