Well, they didn't implement these ideas. That makes them different for a start.

Aberdeen v St Mirren, farewell to 2023.
houston_bud replied to pozbaird's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Not looking forward to this. Earlier in the season when we were good and they were shite, we still didn't put then to the sword. I just can't see where our goals are coming from. Could be a long afternoon. -
The Official Former President Trump thread

Ah, is Maine one of the states that splits the electoral votes? More significant (even if slightly) then. Michigan's Supreme Court rejected an appeal to have removed from their ballot but I think there's talk that might change depending on what happens with law suits. That would be a big blow as Trump won that in 2016. -

Probably a few, there's a lot of spineless b*****ds in that party. Would not being on the ballot in Colorado and Maine make much difference to the outcome of any election though? Both fairly solidly Democrat places. Be interesting to see if many more states follow. Wonder when the last election was where one of the main candidates wasn't on the ballot in certain states? I know Lincoln wasn't on the ballot in a lot of southern states prior to the civil war, anyone know if it has happened since the civil war era? -
St Mirren v Killie

Part of me thinks we didn't deserve to lose, but when you offer nothing going forward then we can't have many complaints. Ross County and Livingston must be the only teams we've scored against in the second round of fixtures. Good night for Kilmarnock with everyone else dropping 2 points. edit: spoke to soon with this -
St Mirren v Killie

Think we can feel pretty aggrieved to be behind. Thought we were marginally the better side until the goal, then Kilmarnock had a spell after a lift from the goal. We've not created much though, which has been our biggest problem for weeks. -

We could really do with getting back to winning ways, but Kilmarnock are one of the form teams and will be a tough game. It's not a game I'd be putting on a coupon with any confidence; home win, draw, or away win - none of those outcomes would be a real surprise (cue Elvis saying that home win would be). -

Do you think they've done better than in recent years when we've seen the likes of Motherwell and Kilmarnock lose to teams from Ireland and Wales? -
Derek Adams interview

The idea that Adams is playing some sort of 4D chess after conceding a 97th minute goal, is not one I can take particularly seriously. He was clearly gutted at the way they lost the game, had a bit of a meltdown and started spewing hyperbole about both the game and the standard of Scottish football as a whole. Had they not conceded that late goal, he gives a different interview. I don't think anyone is under any illusions about the standard of Scottish football, we don't need someone who has, for the past decade, been a lower league jobber in England to come up and tell us the standard isn't great. I'm not sure I buy the idea that we're getting progressively worse though. In the past few seasons we've seen clubs do better in Europe than we have for quite a while. Not so long ago or teams were getting put out of European competition in July by part time teams from Wales and Luxembourg. I think all our teams in Europe this year have turned in some decent performances and got some good results. -

I'd maybe feel embarrassed for him but he's a total cock. -

Possibly a bit of rose tinted specs on my part, it just seems that we had more goals from other parts of the pitch last season. -

Whilst we're a better side this season, one thing we don't seem to have is defenders who are a threat from set pieces. Both Shaughnessy and Gallagher popped up with goals from time to time. As good as Fraser, Gogic and Taylor have been, that's lacking from their game. -

After an acrimonious exit from British football, it's now or never for him to prove himself. -
Jesus, that's maybe the worst of the lot. I don't have a problem with an honours system per se, but when clowns like Fabricant and Gavin Williamson get knighthoods it devalues the whole thing beyond recovery. Add to that the awful 'British Empire' titles and it should all just be scrapped.

Stuttering Saints v Staggies

I agree with everything you say. Even as a punter watching games on TV I don't like it though. I ended up turning off the Spurs v Chelsea game a few weeks back as it became unwatchable. -

VAR has ended up with more correct decisions, I'm sure of it. But I don't think we're saying s huge increase in right decisions (the officials got most calls right without VAR). At the same time it's spoiling the game from a spectators point of view and has added to controversy, rather than get rid of it. -

We see lengthy VAR stops, 3 mins or more, checking everything from all different angles all the time. Why not with this? -

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the St Mirren club doctor and physio probably know more about head knocks, and whether or not Scott Tanser was fit to play, than folk on an Internet forum. -

It looked a penalty to me, the fact there wasn't a lengthy VAR check seems strange. -

That second half was as comfortable as we've been in a long time. Maybe he took a knock but taking Smith off didn't help Ross County at all. Good to get back to winning ways and with a few good performances.
