  1. I suppose people have a limit somewhere though, if we're happy to pay £25 then why not £28, if £28 why not £30? I understand that clubs set their prices for the season and generally don't deviate from that but £25 for a midweek game when the weather is dreadful isn't really enticing. I have some sympathy with Livingston, and indeed all the smaller clubs, as the vast majority of their income comes from gate receipts and the clubs all operate on pretty tight budgets. If they reduce it to £20 would the number of people going increase that much to offset the cheaper tickets? I'm unsure. That said fans are entitled to spend their money however they want and you'd imagine there must be a ceiling at some point. I remember being at Almondvale in 99/00 when we won the first division. Folk were outraged that Livi were charging £12 to get in, I remember it because it was also highlighted in the fanzine SQ. So it's more than doubled in 20 years, albeit we are an a division higher.
  2. Thought Stelios was signed for some mob in the Vanarama league? Ambrose would be a great addition. We need a full back first but we also only currently have 2 fit centre halves.
  3. Both sets of fans will probably feel a little disappointed not to win. I thought there was a fair bit of excitement considering the conditions were really tough. I like the look of Jakubiak he's big and strong and he's busy as well. Thought Durmus was good again and McGrath looked quite handy at times. Hopefully Hodson's injury isn't too bad, that's the last thing we need.
  4. Like you say, baffling. I'm not sure how much impact the push had. He had a hand on the keeper's back but I'm not convinced it was a shove. Either way it's a free kick to either Hamilton or St Mirren. He waves play on and Hamilton score. Admittedly we have to defend better. The one decision that really riled me was Moyo's elbow. It's a red card all day long. To not even book him after he'd booked Obika (which with my black and white specs on was soft) was a joke. Famewo's eyebrow was opened up. I thought Miller's foul on Flynn was unlucky, he's tried to block to the shot, it wasn't a nasty one. Probably a yellow, definitely not a red. He probably should've been on a booking for when he grabbed the ball earlier in the second half right enough. All that said, we were lucky to escape with a point. A great save from Hladky and a dreadful penalty. We didn't test Southwold at all.
  5. Agreed. I thought taking McGrath off was odd, but Flynn should've been back in the midfield if you're making that sub. I'm not sure the formation works for us. We managed 1 maybe 2 shots on target from open play, that's against the team who was bottom of the league.
  6. A fair bit of excitement, and two good goals, in an otherwise poor game. You will struggle to see a worse refereeing performance all season. Obika gets booked before touching the ball, presumably for leading with his arm. Moyo opens up Famewo's eyebrow with his elbow, no card. So many fouls given for petty things, then clear fouls let go.
  7. It gets curiouser, I've got a Kilmarnock supporting mate who just told me that apparently we offered Broadfoot to Kilmarnock for a fee. Dyer was happy to take him but Fowler said no. The whole thing seems a bit odd.
  8. Mullen to Dundee would be a good move for them and him I reckon. He'd definitely improve them and it would get him games. Makes sense, even if I would like to see him playing more at us. Couple of folk on twitter saying that Broadfoot to Kilmarnock is off. Good.
  9. I never suggested he was shit. Far from it, I think he's a very good player. I thought he did very well in difficult circumstances last season. It seems odd that it's come from no where and considering the fact that he hasn't played this season. Have they been scouting our reserve games? It's possible. Going on loan is presumably to see if he's good enough. It seems unusual to do that rather than have him go on trial.
  10. The Sun reporting that Erhahon could be off to Barnsley on loan with a view to a permanent move in the summer. Seems odd.
  11. Hodson is a good acquisition but I'm still gutted to lose Paul McGinn, I think he's been our best player this year. He's played all across the back and been excellent everywhere. The defence that was pretty solid for the first half of the season has completely changed. Admittedly Broadfoot and Mackenzie are still to come back. Here's hoping the all gel together quickly.
  12. Hearts looked good today. I wouldn't be surprised to see them get beat away to St Johnstone next week though.
  13. I still reckon Cosgrove is fouling McCarthy before the penalty shout today. I wonder if that was in the ref's subconscious. We were also on the end of a bad decision at Pittodrie when Lewis should've been sent off. He then saves the (poor) penalty. It's frustrating when big decisions go against you but over the piece Aberdeen have taken a point from two games in Paisley and that's all they've deserved.
  14. I'd be gutted if McGinn left. Mr consistency no matter where he gets played. We don't really have another right back if he does go, although Flynn has been excellent there
  15. Over the piece a draw was probably right. If Obika buries his chance we win so it's frustrating from that point of view. Obika was poor, Andreu wasn't in the game but other than that I thought we were good. Flynn was excellent yet again and McCarthy looks like a great acquisition, motm for me.
  16. Not been a great game. Obika has to bury that chance. You won't get a better chance. Andreu hasn't been at the races, I'd be inclined to bring Mullen on after 10 mins if he still can't get into the game. At least Mullen will make a nuisance of himself. McCarthy has been good at the back. Aberdeen might have had a penalty shout, although might have been outside the box. I also think Cosgrove was pulling McCarthy's jersey before McCarthy pulls him back.
  17. We were deserved winners in Paisley last time, albeit Aberdeen should've had a penalty, and at Pittodrie were were worth a point. We should have no fear going into this game.
  18. McCarthy should've thrown himself at that Macpherson free kick. Wasn't a great game to watch, thought we nullified Rangers well. The goal was annoying as it was slightly fortuitous with a mis hit cross. We had a couple of short spells when we were able to string a few passes together but we didn't threaten at all. The other results all went our way and we gave a reasonable account of ourselves. I'd have taken that before the game.
  19. That surprises me actually as his attitude appears to be good, certainly on the park when he always gives everything. Agreed he's not as good as Dykes.
  20. Is he likely to be leaving by the end of the month? If he leaves at the end of the season we won't have a say in where he goes.
  21. I could see him going back to Livingston and scoring frequently against us.
  22. Yeah, the couple of Morton fans I know said that he's been excellent in a poor team. Like most fans, I like Baird. I've always felt he was a bit hard done to as when a new centre half came in he was the one to make way, even if he'd been in decent form. In fairness though he isn't as good as Davis, Popescu or McLoughlin who all replaced him. I reckon he could do better than Morton right enough. I watched the Dundee v Motherwell game and he'd improve Dundee's back four. I'd say he's probaby better than the centre halves at Dundee Utd too, and he'd walk into Caley Thistle's defence, especially as Donaldson has left.
  23. Motherwell at home in the cup. Pretty underwhelming draw. Good to get a home tie I suppose.
  24. I have absolutely no idea. Aberdeen get bigger attendances than teams in either Norway or Croatia how that fits into wages I'm not sure. Anyway, I can see why fans of Dundalk and other teams might be a little underwhelmed by McCarthy moving to us. That said it's definitely a step up for him.
