  1. There's a risk with any signing really. I think with signing young loan players from England often the problem is that these guys haven't played many, if any, first team games. They're probably all good players but to make your first team debut against the likes of Curtis Main who has probably 200 or 300 games under his belt will always be difficult. The game is faster up here and a little more physical too and there have been a few players who did a job playing first team in England who haven't done well up here. Going from playing U23 and reserve games which are full of young players and the odd guy coming back from injury to all of a sudden being up against someone like Alan Power or Lyndon Dykes, who'd kick their own granny to win a game of football, is a different game altogether.
  2. Nice to see us getting some business done early. I'd be surprised to see Baird back to be honest, it looks like Goodwin doesn't fancy him. Bit of a shame as he always bust a gut for us and I thought he was decent. He's still young I suppose so could end up coming back in the summer and being given a chance.
  3. Any word on the woman that was taken out at half time? Hope she's ok.
  4. Thought we were the better side but I'm not sure we deserved to win. There was an awful lot of aimless punts and head tennis going on. I sat wondering for a lot of the game that Stevie May must be really shite if he can get a game in that St Johnstone team. He then came on and confirmed that he is indeed really shite. I thought the referee was alright both teams could've had players in the book but he let it go. There was that hectic few minutes that saw a flurry of yellows and I don't think any of them players could complain. We miss Flynn in the middle of the park, hopefully Broadfoot is back for the Celtic and Kilmarnock games and we can get players back playing in their proper positions.
  5. He was going down long before Waters puts the challenge in. Crazy as had he stayed on his feet Waters might very well have fouled him.
  6. Thought it was strange to see Souda come off. He looked dangerous all game.
  7. With a fully fit defence we win that game. Thought Glover did well enough but he struggled to win headers which cost us. Flynn isn't a right back either and we miss him in midfield. Obika was fortunate with his goals but he found himself in the right place at the right time. Another good showing from him and Morais. Cooke did well when he came on too. We should be looking to beat St Johnstone next week and Kilmarnock on the 29th.
  8. I'm looking forward to seeing Glover play. He'll be in for a hard game but Goodwin wouldn't put him in if he didn't think he was ready.
  9. Baird has played pretty much every minute since he went to Morton. Had he stayed Hamilton would have been the first game time he'd have likely seen this season. Yes we could use him for a couple of games now but I still think it was the right decision for him as a player and for us as he'll come back match sharp.
  10. Total shite. Based on that we need to make some serious changes before our next game. Motherwell are a good side but they didn't need to get out of second gear. Morias's shot that went out for a throw sums us up
  11. Stubbs on Sportsound just now, it's a tough listen. Just threw out the classic "I'm not blaming anyone but"
  12. I'd be surprised to see Morgan back but he'd be a very welcome addition. I assume Djorkaeff will be moving on as he's not had a sniff. If Morgan was to come in I wonder what that would mean for Durmus too. He's been decent but not made a massive impact.
  13. 2-1 Saints. Obika and McAllister off the bench. Hibs to be denied a stone wall penalty.
  14. I kind of agree with you here. I remember Hartley celebrating in front of the North Bank more than once. He was a bit of a pantomime villain and took pelters from our fans so I always thought fair enough. Graham is a bit of a nonentity though, seemed like he was trying too hard.
  15. Graham and Stewart have got 4 goals each whereas Obika and Mullen have got 2 each. I don't think it's a stretch to say that they would improve us. I like Henderson too. Their defence is rotten though and I don't fancy either of their keepers.
  16. Thought that wasn't going to happen for us but it was well deserved. County were fortunate not to be down to 10 men and I thought we had a good penalty shout as well when Mackenzie had his jersey pulled. I enjoyed County having to retake that goal kick in stoppage time. Poetic justice after the constant time wasting.
  17. Is there history with St Mirren and Brian Graham? Seemed odd that he sprinted to celebrate in front of the west stand. He's not a player I really have an opinion on.
  18. Was talking to a Hearts supporting mate yesterday, when I told him we had lost all our away games so far his response was 'You've not won away? Great time to play Hearts then'. I do like how fans of so many teams think exactly the same. I'd guess a 0-0, but who knows. Naismith could be the difference.
  19. Only chance of us taking something is if we manage to keep a clean sheet. Not completely impossible, but unlikely. I reckon Celtic will get a goal after 10/15mins, we'll then defend well and probably have a couple of spells where we have some pressure, some crosses into the box to get our hopes up, but no clear cut chances. Celtic will then get a second about 75/80mins and kill the game. I'm depressing myself even thinking about it.
  20. I thought Jackson was decent, stupid penalty aside. He was an intelligent player and had good experience. 6 goals wasn't a terrible return.
