Sheron's not much older than MacPherson, and MacPherson probably has more first team games under his belt. Certainly at this level. I think MacPherson is one of our best players, baffling that he hasn't started the last couple of games. -

We waited until we were 2-0 before we started playing. Should've had a penalty and Sheron was unlucky not to score. Hibs well worth their lead though. -

Exactly. It's almost as if clubs make decisions based on what is right for them and their players, rather than what plonkers on social media want. -

Had it been 3 outfield players we'd have coped. Keepers are different though. Would a Celtic v Rangers game have gone ahead if either had lost 3 keepers the day before a game? I think we all know the answer to that. -

Zlamal is as good a keeper as we'll get at such short notice. No championship side is going loan out their first choice keeper for fear of an injury, and we're a bit pressed for time to get a 3rd/4th choice keeper up from a team down south. -

Lyness was decent in the few games he played after Samson left. Alnwick has been excellent but I reckon Lyness is a decent number 2. -

Sorry to see Baird go but he clearly wasn't in Goodwins's plans. An often maligned player but he played an important role in our great escape and championship winning teams. He's quick, strong and good in the air. There's a player in there and I think a good coach will get a lot out of him. I hope he does well wherever he goes. -
St Johnstone v St Mirren 29/8
houston_bud replied to Lex's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
St. Johnstone played well, thoroughly deserved their win and they should've given us a doing. But christ were we rubbish. 80 mins before we managed a shot. The amount of times we gave the ball away was embarrassing. Aimless punts up the park, conceding possession and inviting St Johnstone to attack again. Poor passing and no players that could beat their man. Goodwin changed the formation 10 mins before half time, then 5 mins after half time changed it back. Baffling. -

The only positive is that its still 0-0. Could be 3-0. Not convinced that's a penalty but I wouldn't have been surprised had it been given. McAllister was anonymous, although I think that was more down to our shape rather than his performance. Durmus and McGrath haven't been in the game either. In fact other than a couple of tackles by Sheron and a couple of blocks by the defence none of our players have done anything of note. -

Is Macpherson carrying a knock? I'm surprised he's not been as involved as I think he's arguably our best midfielder. -

Like a mug I'll probably pay it but is is steep. I get these clubs have to make money and are operating on fine margins, but how can we, County, Motherwell charge a fiver less? -

I agree. I don't think there's any malice in it but it's a dangerous challenge. Goodwin saying it was a harsh red but that he hasn't seen it back is fair enough, I'd expect he'll change his mind when he does see it. -

Even though we played with 10 men for so long, I'm pretty disappointed we didn't win that. Thought we were pretty comfortable until the red card, and it took a jammy two deflections to score against 10 men. Red card all day long for Shaunessey, it was a poor challenge. My only question, who made the decision? The ref played on, stopped play as Stewart was hurt, allows a minute or so of pushing and arguing then produces the red card. Who made that decision? Seems to have been the 4th official as the assistant wasn't flagging. It was the right decision though. -
Accies vs Buddies - 15/8

I agree that was his best game in a while, I reckon Hamilton's improvement was more down to their changes though with Ogkmpoe and Johnson coming on. -

Accies will probably think they were worth a point as they were the better side in the second half. That said we should've been up 2-0 at half time and despite Alnwick having a couple of decent saves I don't think Hamilton really created many clear cut chances. The second half was scrappy and we really needed someone to put their foot on the ball, hopefully Flynn coming back can help with that. A couple of times Obika took a bad touch where we could've done with him holding on to it and slowing the game down. A win and a clean sheet away from home though. Can't really ask for much more. -
St Mirren v Celtic
houston_bud replied to ZingaliMan's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
I know it's easier said than done, but I just want to see us get in their faces, Jullien struggles against a physical striker so hopefully Obika can let him know he's in a game. With being allowed to make 5 subs that gives us more scope for playing a high press for longer spells of the game. We also need to use the ball better when we have it, too often yesterday we gave away possession and invited more pressure on. -

He didn't really need to admit anything, we all saw it. 2 feet right into Millen's chest. What I liked about it was Millen jumped back up and chased him down the tunnel. -

Strange that Jakubiak has gone to Dundee, they're cutting players' wages and apparently we couldn't afford him. -

Looking at Sheron's appearances on Wikipedia he's made 26 for Fleetwood over 4 years and a handful on loan for a couple of different non league teams. It's certainly possible that he's just not quite ready to play and needs some time to get up to speed.
