  1. House prices are also affected by all the people who see property as an easy investment that will earn more money than anything else. Apparently there are more empty houses in London than there are houses (empty or not) in Liverpool.
  2. Often that is because the land value is less. Also, there are plenty of American homes where the shell of the building is wood.
  3. These people were as rich as anything but still chose to live with Mum and Dad instead of getting a place of their own.
  4. Of course I say "Bless you." Home made pepper spray always needs volunteers.
  5. I had a colleague who did this. Eventually I put up a sign "what's the difference between <insert name> and a dog that eats shit. Answer: the dog doesn't heat it up in the microwave.
  6. I have seen the Damned several times. Once in Inverness with support from the Alarm and also Henry Cluney from Stiff Little Fingers. Henry came on stage with on his own with an electric guitar. For his last two songs, the drummer and bassist from the Damned helped him out. I see the Damned are back on tour this year with the original members including Rat Scabies. Back to the original question. Probably Stiff Little Fingers, the Stranglers, the Damned and the Rezilloes.
  7. No. Jaws was filmed in Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts. Cabot Cove is actually Mendicino about three hours North of San Francisco. The same place as "The Howling". Almost every episode included somebody you might know. One episode is set in Australia. Obviously nobody you would know in that? Wrong. It included Nick Tate, who previously played regular character Alan Carter in Space 1999.
  8. He played the sidekick to Lewis in the Detective show Lewis that followed on from Inspector Morse. He was once married to Billie Piper. He is the son of actor James Fox. Oh, and then he decided to express his political opinions all over the place.
  9. Yes, they both appeared on X Factor and fulfilled the role of "Cheeky Essex-type" which meant using their normal accent instead of RP English.
  10. I am not sure about the format of this. If Colombo was on this show, he would spot the traitors immediately but they would know this and get rid of him. Similarly anyone that suggests a traitor when nobody else does. Therefore the best strategy is to display no ability to detect a traitor at all or base your decision on nothing at all. Diane thought Anthony was a traitor because of how he behaved in the line-up. That was before the traitors had even been selected by Claudia.
  11. ^^^^ Which comedian who no longer identifies themselves as male do you most despise thread for this pish.
  12. In the pilot episode of Starsky and Hutch, David Soul famously jumped on to the top of a car and landed sitting down. It resulted in chronic back pain for the next thirty years. Definitely not a good idea.
  13. I wonder what the result would be if the players weren't getting the great advice I have to offer from the stands.
  14. FYI: The Butterfly Effect is taken from the short story by Ray Bradbury called "The Sound of Thunder" where time travellers go back in time to kill a T-Rex. Turned into an episode of "Ray Bradbury Theatre" which can be found on YouTube. Not sure there is a need for you to do a remake with your story instead.
  15. Worth investigating. If true, I suggest their cup win is declared null and void.
  16. "Timescapes: Stories about time travel" is a great book to read.
  17. No. Just go back in time and fix it.
  18. Another solution would be to work at his art school. "These paintings aren't great but I can see something there. I am going to take a chance and enrol you in the college."
  19. I recall some scientist pointing out that whether or not time travel is possible, simply being an observer would be even more difficult because it would require photons of light to travel through time simply because you want them to.
  20. Stephen King wrote a novel called 11.22.63 using time travel to do precisely this. This was also made into a mini-series starring James Franco. I think it might be on Netflix.
  21. The Earth travels around the sun at a speed of 67,000 miles per hour. Assuming you still want to be on Earth at the other end of your travels then that is something else you need to consider. HTH
  22. Forty years ago, Operation Curly Wurly involved the capture of 13 KGB agents who were spying on Rosyth Dockyards. The agents would make themselves known to other agents by purchasing a Curly Wurly from RS McColl. However MI5 found out about this and they were all arrested along with a 12 year old boy (later released) and a 75 year old woman in a wheelchair who would yell "come on the Pars" for no reason they could think of. She was also released. Before they realised their mistake she was back in Moscow.
  23. Historically they would go somewhere that did not have an extradition treaty with the UK such as Franco's Spain.
