  1. I was down there in 2016. Newcastle, York, Harrogate and Leeds. All voted Remain. You would never guess it. It's like they don't exist.
  2. Grant Shapps' cousin is Mick Jones of the Clash. I wonder if he will be allowed to play "Should I stay or should I go."
  3. The lesson is simple. "Don't mess with the Tofu eaters or you're toast."
  4. First they came for the tofu eaters but I did not speak up because I was not a tofu eater ..

  6. In the original speech it was going to be Taramasalata but after five attempts to say it right she changed it to Tofu.
  7. I thought you were all being very beastly about this whole concept and decided to carry out my own research. I headed into the centre of Inverness and tried to interview as many people as I could to see if there really was a concern or not. I asked "Is Vox Pop an acceptable way to judge the mood of the nation?" The outcome was 2 said Yes and 1 said No. I think that is fairly conclusive.

  9. "Okay folks. The simulation is over. You asked me to resign and we needed to demonstrate what a disaster that would be. I would like to thank Rishi for coming up with the plan. I pretend to resign, we pretend to have a leadership contest and then who knows who wins. I have to say what a marvelous performance by Kwasi but without doubt the star of the show was Liz. We couldn't have done it with her. Excellent. Oh and getting the Queen to die on you was a masterstroke! Anyway, enough is enough. I think we made our point. Let's get back to business."
  10. Oh come on. They would love it. Have you got some better reason for going to Iowa?
  11. I think there was a bit of confusion here. They were going to send him a letter to say he was sacked. "In that case, make sure you send it first class."
  12. At the moment UKIP constantly threaten to split the right-wing vote, so a lot of Tory MPs have to act the part to stop that happening. Under PR, the party would have actual MPs but would have less direct access to power. Tory MPs who detest UKIP (and there are some) wouldn't have to appease them anymore. UKIP would actually lose influence.
  13. What about the dark money thinktank panelists that appear regularly on Question Time. Nobody elected any of them.
  14. He didn't expect to win the election. He thought it would be another coalition government and the LibDems would veto any EU referendum. Similarly the gammons in his party were deeply concerned about a possible threat from UKIP. Despite causing so much damage, UKIP will not lose any seats at the next election - coz they ain't got none. Expect the BBC to invite them in to give wise advice on how it should all be done properly.
  15. In the film "Flash Gordon", who would have imagined that the actor who got to close the plane door at the start of the film would become better known than the actor who played the title role.
  16. Got there in the end. Phew! #Worldle #267 6/6 (100%) https://worldle.teuteuf.fr
  17. Personally I suspect Brexit will destroy the next one and the next one and the next one until everyone realises that Britain is not global superpower it pretends to be.
  18. In any democracy, I would expect there to be a party of the left and a party of the right. Typically the party of the right believes the state should be lean and mean. The current UK government places too much emphasis on being mean. They detest immigrants who are only seeking a better life. They detest the poor for being poor. They detest political correctness. They detest the metric system. They detest anything foreign. They detest the left. Yet they complain like anything if anyone detests them back.
  19. I think they should wait until Truss is out of the country and then stage a coup. That would be fun.
  20. Have a heart. Penny Mordaunt is mourning the death of her granny's cousin Angela Lansbury.
  21. Just as an aside, Northern Norway is a third of the whole country but only a tenth of the whole population. Bit of a coincidence.
  22. Blair House Inn. Only $250 per night. Maybe for a little extra they could organise a murder for that real authentic experience.
  23. "In a recent vox pop we asked people about their opinion on a range of issues and what needed to be done. They were fairly evenly split on most things". "That's interesting. How many people in your sample?" "Just the one."
  24. "The Howling" was filmed there too. I suppose you are going to tell me that was untrue as well!
