  1. Are you including lattes or capuccinos in that? There's an absolute talent to making a beautiful coffee with hot milk. That shouldn't be dismissed so easily. (I've got too childish a pallete to enjoy coffee but i do like a nice tea (strong, with a spot of milk if you're asking))
  2. Is this a thing now? I'm looking for a straw summer hat that i lost at some point last week. Hatlessness is very frustrating in this weather.
  3. Fan urgency has no effect, though. It's just pointless knicker-wetting. Hopkin knows (and has said) that we're still short of players but so are plenty of other teams. We need to have a bit of faith and see what he manages to do in the next few weeks. The killie game is big but it's not as big as the entire season. Yes we all want to get off to a good start but we have to let the manager do his job.
  4. The first lap or two were certainly fun.
  5. The league cup campaign went well though, and so there's less urgency. Am i not right in saying shankland signed after the league season had started? Some folk just like a drama.
  6. I hate to say it but i fully agree. Unless i was happy to take care of the petrol then that needs dealt with. He can't be complaining about it and doing nothing about it.
  7. Just catching up with this thread and these horrific takes. I love Hendry but ffs Murray is clearly ahead of him for this category. The type of sport has to be taken in as a factor.
  8. Is first year not the hardest year, statistically speaking? In the sense that most folk quit at that point, so if you've got through it then you should be able to dig your way through the rest. Well done chief. No matter what loads of folk say about the dumbing down of education (with some minor justifications) - it still requires a certain level of ability, effort and resilience to complete a degree.
  9. That's insane. Are the blast teams the same as the county and the one day cup? At least that all makes sense. This new thing is just a giant gimmick.
  10. To be fair, I'm really bad at this. I rarely use sat nav but my special awareness must be fucking dreadful as it genuinely takes me 10 times visiting a place before i get to know it. As well as this i can easily get lost when I've just come into a new area, not knowing how to get back out. I know folk who can learn shit like this first time so it's definitely a particular type of intelligence (one that me and your missuses don't have).
  11. There's all sorts of wee things they could organise to make it more of a spectacle. I just don't see the reason for not using the time to get a run out, and get some more fans back to Somerset.
  12. Have they just ditched the t20 blast then? Surely to f**k you stick with the traditions of the game (keep the counties) - but add in a short version (not two separate ones) and organise it accordingly. Jazzy new strips for the short version is fine, it's like having a football away kit. More folk would turn up to the short games at night, but if they got into it they'd also support their team in the longer format. Squads would have to be balanced to compete in both, and each side would have to have a women's team of equal stature. Less of the shitey spangly rebranding - and just focus solely on the experience of the fan, and what's best for the game in general. Think long term, rather than gimmicky short term.
  13. Fucking hell. Racism and drunk driving is not cool, man. Get her to f**k.
  14. The difference being that folk have already paid and organised to be there. I genuinely think the majority of those who bought tickets would still attend a squad match. Add in a couple of wee open-day gimmicks pre-match and at half time and i reckon it would work (and recoup some of the losses).
  15. Doesn't sound too good. She sounds a bit mental, and the whole 'are you ready to apologise' annoys me. If she thinks you owe her an apology she should wait for it and get rid of you if she's not happy. But maybe you need to work on not snapping over something so trivial? No matter who is right or wrong (sounds like you're right, as cars don't break the moment they go on the motorway) - it's not something that anyone should be getting worked up about.
  16. I'd love the club to be doing everything to arrange something like this, maybe a junior team, or like you say - a semi competitive squad game. Then offer the fans the chance to leave their tickets as is. I certainly would go along, and know a fair few others would too.
  17. Awful, awful news. Here's hoping for some positive news. Transplants can be incredible, so fingers crossed for the wee one.
  18. I don't think it's as simple as that. The NHS needs managers. It's a huge beast of an administration and so effective management is key. But there are so many issues (many of them completely understandable). I've learned over the years that there's no simple solution. It's underfunded, that's for sure - but I'd be looking for a hand picked team of experienced experts to decide what changes are needed. None of it should involve privatisation.
  19. Feel for you, man. I've got a serious chronic condition and so I'm in hospitals regularly. I quickly learned how often mistakes were made (sometimes staff error, sometimes system error, often just one of those things when a series of events lead to a minor f**k up). Since then I've been very much involved in what's happening and when, and I like to double check things. I know this can be a bit irritating for staff but they usually understand, and I've caught a few things before they went wrong. Quite often it's just a lack of communication, usually down to how busy folk are. There are also some fantastic nurses / auxiliaries (or whatever the new term is), and some fucking dreadful ones. You quickly learn which ones to try and avoid (if possible). In saying all that I simply wouldn't be able to continue to work and have the life I have if it weren't for the NHS. There's no way my teaching career could afford the premiums for the level of healthcare I receive here - absolutely free. And I never let myself forget that.
  20. That's insane behaviour mate. Get her telt. If she asks (politely) for help, then I'll give it - but to just presume it is mental. The only time where this reaction is acceptable is where it's a vital thing for both people e.g. Holiday tickets on the morning of the holiday.
  21. Are all the Gordons guid c***s? I mix them up but they all seem like solid posters.
