  1. I appreciate we are all hoping for a defensive midfielder. That might yet happen. But Id be surprised if Danzaki doesnt start tonight. How about we drop Goss and go with Cornelius and Slattery in behind?
  2. Flow said there is more business to come. Just wont be announced until today. Presumably because it was too late at night to get the player(s) up here and in a Well shirt for the photo shoot.
  3. Main, Dunne and Carson would walk into our team right now. That tells you a lot.
  4. I agree with you. But plenty have already judged the manager negatively without giving him the chance to rectify things.
  5. Your criticism is always balanced and reasoned. Unlike some. And to be fair, this place is generally more like that than Steelmen Online!
  6. Quietly pleased with the business done so far and with Hammy stating we are still looking to do more it could turn out to have been quite a productive window for us. At the very least the moves that have already happened proves that maybe, just maybe, Hammy does know what he is doing, does know where the problems in the team lie, and has been actively trying to fix them. Of course, we still need to translate that into results, but it would be nice if the manager and the team could grab a few wins and prove a few people wrong.......
  7. For every Paul Kinnaird, theres a Brian Martin or a Paul Lambert......
  8. Listened to the game on Sportsound yesterday and was amazed to hear that we have scored more goals than the teams above us and conceded fewer than most of them. Our "in game management" and individual errors is our biggest problem. Whilst we clearly arent a great team, we are doing enough right to be higher up the league than we are showing currently. But the crazy self inflicted goals are killing us. Im still behind Stevie Hammell, but he either needs to change something at the back to account for the fact that one of these errors is likely to happen every week. Whether that is going to a back 3 or changing one of our current pairing out for Blaney, Im not sure. But we cant be persevering with Sol and Lamie. Its madness. Arbroath next week is the perfect opportunity to put Blaney in. If he cant handle that level, we shouldnt have signed him.
  9. Certainly better than "not hopeful"....... Be one less position to worry about.
  10. Really sorry to here this news. Over the piece Flow will have made mistakes, no doubt. But thats football. No one can question how hard he worked for the club or that he always had its best interests at heart. As others hace said, given the amount of shit he has had to deal with over the last 15 years, its maybe no surprise that he has decided to call it a day. Hopefully he can find a new post (preferably not with another Scottish Club) where he can enjoy a less stressful time with a better work / life / family balance. I wish him well.
  11. If we had someone like Porteous in our team, whether at centre half or in midfield, we wouldnt lose half the silly goals we do and we would be about 9 points better off than we are now. His trip on Sol in the closing seconds is a case in point. He saw what needed to be done and was willing to take a card for the team. We may not have scored, but he made sure we didnt and made sure the 3 points were going back along the M8. Italy would be a great move for him, but if I were Hibs I wouldnt be letting him go unless it was silly money and I had a replacement already lined up.
  12. Lot of merit in that post. My times not up with Hammy just yet. I accept results have been poor and he needs to do more to turn this around other than just meekly accept it. But his options have been extremely limited and he does imho deserve the backing of the board to get players in and turn it around. We are not cut adrift at the bottom. Despite our horrendous form we are still 3 clear of Ross County with a far superior GD. We are still above Dundee United and in touch with Kilmarnock. January will be a massive month. We need bodies in the door and a couple of good wins against those around us to take the pressure off a bit. Its not a lost cause, by a long shot. But we need to see improvements and a change of shape to make us harder to beat wouldnt be the worst place to start.
  13. Despite our awful form and inability to put teams away from winning positions, we are still in touch with the pack and only a couple of wins away from breathing space. Dont expect anything midweek, but we could do with avoiding defeat at Livvy and getting a much needed home win sometime soon. The longer it goes without a win the more the pressure will mount on Hammell and the players. January will be a dedining month as to where we are at.......
  14. Can only echo the sentiments of everyone else. Absolutely outstanding goalkeeper and one of the best Scottish goalkeepers of all time. Hope he can recover from this. Be a shame for it all to end this way given how hard he worked to get back to such a high level after the last injury. Huge headache now for Steve Clarke.
  15. Polworth is shite. If he wasnt he would still be at Motherwell as we would have offered him an improved deal to keep him here. The irony that he scored the equaliser tonight with an absolute worldy isnt lost on Motherwell fans. His missus will be delighted.
  16. Definitely have him back, but wouldnt be breaking the bank for him. He would have to want to come based on our existing wage structure. I would have thought he might have better offers, but you never know.
  17. You are entitled to ask the question, and it was answered. Human error. It still doesnt negate the fact that from the actual matchday camera you can see Jotas head is offside. Given thats a part of his body he can score with, its the right decision. But you are right. Of course we would have been screaming about it if it was us. We are football fans, so we are total hypocrites!
  18. Im ok with paying £15 to see the game. Its saved me the drive from Ayrshire on a pissing wet night when I have work in the morning. Compared to the cost of my match ticket and diesel or how much I would spend in the pub if it was on Sky, I dont think its that bad.
  19. Typical journo trying to upset the opposition in advance of a game against the big two. Used to be transfer speculation. I guess we dont have any players good enough for that right now.
  20. Wow! The first link is a lot of words that mean absolutley nothing to me! From the second article, I take it to be a cross between a physio/fitness coach/performance coach? Thats a lot of science!
