  1. I think the video is great. I doubt Theo was even consulted on the title. Much like the journalist has no control over the headline in the paper. The big man is fast becoming our next cult hero. Feed The Bair! Feed The Bair! Feed The Bair!
  2. I think its a wee bit of a (more than justified) dig at the doubters. Happy to suck it up! Big man has earned it.
  3. My first Motherwell strip! Love the fact my auld man made sure we also had claret & amber wallpaper!
  4. Fantastic Jay. I would agree it would have been nice to get a CEO in place and get on with actually running the football club, but I guess circumstances are what they are and Society Members deserve to hear what the proposals are that are on offer. Really looking forward to hearing what the Society has to offer as Im still 100% behind majority share fan ownership, whilst accepting that the offering needs to be better and extra revenue generated from somewhere.
  5. Top 6 would be great. Allows the club to ignore relegation and start budgeting for next season. Potentially let us throw Blair Spittal an extra wedge in any new contract. I do think we will be just short though unless we can somehow go 4 from 4. Which would actually be 6 on the bounce overall. Big ask. 2 or 3 wins should see us safe before the split though so not a huge disaster if we dont get it.
  6. The difference is you have a big enough budget to carry a squad that can cope with those injuries. We have a bench full of young boys.
  7. I dont know half these names, but pleased to see Cantwell is out. Certain players always seem to play really well against us and he is one of them. I have zero expectation for this one. However, we have been pretty competitive against the top teams this season regardless of results, so hopefully we dont get turned over. We havent won at Ibrox in the league since 1997. That has to end at some point. Will it be today?
  8. Astro always plays better when its soaking wet. Much less sticky and dampens the bounce. Also leads to far fewer injuries, because its far less sticky!
  9. You suggesting McMahon want the CEO role? Personally, Id like a clean slate. The new 'Well Society Board seem to have some impetus. Id like to see them appoint a CEO and together with the CEO look at all areas of the club with a view to seeing what needs improvement. Once thats done we can sit down and look at what investors match up with the way we see the club progressing going forward. It should be on our terms as owners, rather than dictated by the investors.
  10. That sounds amazing! Do they do home delivery for those of us watching on tv?
  11. A draw suits us more than it suits Livvy so I wouldnt be devestated if that was the result again. A win, however, would go a long way to getting us clear of the dogfight at the bottom. As others have said, much will depend on who we have available after yesterday. The team put in a shift and would imagine there will be a fair few carrying knocks. If we have Bair, Vale and Spittal all fit I think we should be able to cobble sufficient behind them to win the game, but we have no suitable replacements for those 3. Best wishes to our physio!
  12. Given all the options that are open to us its gonna take a significant piece of time to work through them and come to a sensible decision. That being the case, I dont think we can go on in limbo any longer and need to start putting the house in order. We have a CEO and Chairman who both want to be gone in short shrift. I dont see how it is credible in those circumstances to move quickly on a change of ownership. For me the Well Society should lead with their proposals. Appoint a permanent CEO from those interviewed and in conjunction with the new CEO examine all the investment opportunities to see which one fits best with the ethos of the Society / club and the views of the members. That could take some time and we will have a new season to prepare for in the interim and a manager who will be looking for a budget/support. Rushing into it to just get things done appears folly.
  13. Not sure he meets all the criteria because he was actually a very good goalkeeper, but for me Sieb Dijkstra is one of the biggest cult heroes in my time supporting Motherwell. The Pornstar moustache, gareish paintsplash jersey, catching cross balls out by the penalty spot and his mazy runs around defenders that used to send Wee Tommy mad, made him a huge fans favourite. Unlike the current Motherwell team, corners and freekicks were nothing to worry about. Seeeeeeeeiiiiiibbbbbb!!!!!! certainly gets my vote!
  14. I think Vale is a pretty decent Biereth replacement. Not quite tye same plater I do t think, but will soften the blow until the end of the season if ge stays fit.
  15. "I lost confidence in the football club" may as well translate as "started doing mental shit to get myself mutualled and back down the road" Gannon has a well earned reputation for being batshit crazy.
  16. Agreed If he slots it everyone is praising his maturity and calmness. He didnt, so his inexperience is highlighted. He will learn from it
  17. Yup. Its the subs/in game management for me that appear to be his biggest flaw. They never seem to impact the game positively and seem overly complicated at times. Yesterday Vargas was clearly causing Devine problems down that side, so I could understand putting SOD on for better defensive cover (ironic that this was the source of the second goal) but we could have gone flat back 4 at that point and pushed Nicholson out wide. That way even a "finished" Obika might have had some relevance on the field once Vale had run his race. Our formation at the end was just mental and you could see that the second goal was coming as a result. The minute you see Mugabi being pushed up front, it all appears a bit desperate.
  18. I think Paton has benefited greatly from the injuries and suspensions we have had. With Slattery injured and both Spittal and Halliday unavailable yesterday he had to start. Whether he should have remained on the pitch is another matter. I know Davor was on a booking, but imho, he was having a better game. I would have kept him on again, just to try and protect the defence. I know we lost a stupid first goal but there was still a point in that game for us and the subs (SOD apart as that was an injury) weakened us again both defensively and going forward. I get that Vale was done but Obika is never the answer there. First Ive really seen Nicholson and wasnt that impressed, but not sure he was put on in his natural role, so wont judge him until he has had a run of games.
  19. No thanks. Im going to Germany in June. Id quite like him on the plane!
  20. Tierney is still young. Id like to see him again after his loan spell down south. A full pre season and some League Cup games should give us a chance to see if he has added anything or needs to just go out on loan again until his contract expires.
  21. That would be a very good plan! We dont win many games, but we havent been losing many either. Tight game, both teams to score, could go either way but a draw most likely!
