I think I'm with @thisGRAEME on the Tierney isn't for me train.
Apart from one cracker his shooting is trademark young Jamie Murphy chip into the keepers arms stuff. For someone with 'attacking intent' I've never been less confident in a player lining up a shot.
No harm to him but if Tierney is the answer then the question is based around the Championship.
Tierney is still young. Id like to see him again after his loan spell down south. A full pre season and some League Cup games should give us a chance to see if he has added anything or needs to just go out on loan again until his contract expires.

My gameplan would simply be to put the ball directly on top of Liam Kelly at every single opportunity.
That would be a very good plan!
We dont win many games, but we havent been losing many either.
Tight game, both teams to score, could go either way but a draw most likely!

Surely it'll be Gunn, Clark and Gordon? Clark ahead of Gordon at Hearts. Absolutely nae chance Kelly gets near the squad on current form.
Could be.
Just got it in my head that Gordon will eventually replace Clark in the Hearts team, but you are probably right.

Kelly won't be in the first 3 picked now Gordon is back. Only way he will go is if we take 4 and then I think Clarke would take him out if loyalty and keeping his goalies together. Which he does prefer to do.
I agree.
It will be Gunn, Gordon and one other, probably McCrorie given he is young and there are no other Rangers players likely to make the squad (Souttar maybe).......

Usually Id be desperate for a Motherwell player to be involved with the Scotland squad, but right now, I just want Motherwell to stop conceding really shit goals. Ive no idea whether Oxborough is any better, but can he be any worse than the current incarnation of Kelly? He is a big guy, if all he did was come and catch some crosses, it would be an improvement.
We have chopped and changed centre backs who have made mistakes and we look no more assured. Butcher is supposed to he the great organiser, but he has had a really serious injury which, at his age, he may not fully recover from.
Its crazy to think that our general defending isnt too bad and teams generally arent playing through us. But our defence at set pieces and cross balls is howling. Much of that is down to individual errors, but its not helped by having a keeper who doesnt command his area.
What to do?

Halliday injured already?
Paton is undroppable.
Miller on the bench so he will need to perform....

Looking for some sort of response to the Morton game. We have a reasonable record at Pittodrie and SK doubling down on his support for Liam Kelly deserves payback from his captain. Both sides to score would be a decent bet and wouldnt be unhappy with a score draw just to keep our noses in front of Aberdeen.

Fwiw, Jamie Borthwick spoke to Frail.
Sounds like we have made Groningen an offer but they have turned it down for now to wait and see if anyone else offers more. If that doesnt happen they would have to either accept our offer or keep an unhappy player until May.

Depends what you mean by silly money. So if If we offer a striker £1750 per week and say St Mirren offer him £2k per week we just give up ? Even though we are IMO still in a relegation dogfight? At this point in time our league safety trumps this wage structure pish - we need strikers otherwise we are fucked.
The manager needs to be backed properly otherwise what was the point in keeping him on?
I agree with the last part.
But if we were seriously offering £150k for Ozbolt, then I think its safe to say that the board are happy to back the manager in the right circumstances.
I wouldnt want to lose a player we really wanted over £250 a week. But if St Mirren or Dundee come back in with their own counter offers, there has to ve a point where we say thanks, but no thanks?

We spent a fair amount in fees during the Alexander season it was just never clarified publicly how much they were and the accounts just showed the £542k figure rather than anything itemised.
Agree it goes slightly against the messaging we've heard this season about wanting to get the budget under control but I don't think it's that unrealistic to think we'd invest if it was the right deal/player.
That would be my reading of the Ozbolt interest.
£150k on a player that is actively looking for a move to England isnt crazy.
If he has proven quality it should be less of a risk than an untried player.
He gets a guaranteed 2/3 year deal on the undestanding we move him on if a club matches a set figure.
We get a motivated player and he gets himself in the shop window for a bigger move.
Win, win.
Be a shame if this one doesnt pan out. It was mildly exciting.

I do wonder what some of our fans think the club are supposed to do to get players to sign for us.
If we target players and offer them deals and that players agent then goes public to try and get more interested parties and push their clients value up, do we just keep going until we are the highest bidder?
We have a wage structure for a reason. If other clubs can pay silly money, then thats up to them. I wouldnt ve pushing the boat out for James Scott or Curtis Main, no matter the fact that I thought either could have done a job for us.
Im sure we will get bodies in. Whether they can make an impact is a different matter.

Killie going well. Would take another point.
However, we are at home and always the chance of a new signing before the weekend that could come in and light up the last 20 minutes.
Alen Ozbolt come on down!

Quite depressing that best a club like Hibs can hope for these days is to become a feeder club for Bournemouth, based only on geography. Not sure where that leaves us. A tie in with Salford City?
Seems to me the beautiful game is well past saving for the ordinary punter.
The big clubs have so much cash now that they just hoover up all the best talent now for their academies, so the chances of us developing a star of our own and selling them down south for a big fee are becoming smaller and smaller.
The best we can expect these days seems to he getting a rare talent on loan for 6 months the aid their development to the next rung on the ladder.

Kinda feel its about time we had a former player in our team doing the dirty on his old club. Seems to happen to us all the time. Only last week Connor Sammon scored against us and PJ Morrison saved a penalty. C'mon Theo, cometh the hour, cometh the man and all that!

I know he is not everyone’s favourite player but what’s happening with Ross Tierney. Can we recall him to at least give us another attacking option?
Depending on how he has been doing down south, I dont think that would be the worst option.
If we cant get a replacement for Biereth then we are basically going to have Bair or Obika up front on their own. We would surely need to change the system to get support to them. Spittal and Tierney either side or with Paton in a 3 just in behind.
Desperate times and all that.

Probably wouldnt have been shaking in our boots a few weeks ago. However, the way this transfer window is going for us, there is now a fair chance of an upset.
We have been running a fairly slim squad all season, but we have lost Souare, Wilkinson, Spencer and now Biereth. Casey, Blaney, Slattery and Miller all still injured.
The only player we have brought in is a loanee from Celtic whose position we already have covered!
You will never have a better chance of beating us!

Not going to lose my shit at this stage. Still plenty time to get more bodies in. Saturdays lineup does look problematic though. SK hasnt caught a break all season.

Possibly putting two & two together and getting 46, but a long shot of going for Calvin Ramsay on loan? Liverpool recalled him as he wasn't getting much of a look-in at Preston.
He needs minutes, we need a right wing-back...
Id bite your hand off for that!

Just thinking out loud, we lack the backing of a religion to really put us over the edge and differentiate us from the gruesome twosome. We also need a good steady flow of money, and nothing beats being right at the top of a pyramid scheme when it comes to raking in the cash. We already have Will Smith on board...
I think we should send "The Video" to the Dalai Lama and see if he would be interested in pushing Bhuddism thru our Community Links. I mean, we already play in the correct colours, right?

Get the ad sent to Will Smith.
Tell him Ryan Reynolds says he is a dick and is gonna win the Champions League before him!

Spencer being recalled is a blow for sure.
McGinn could play there of course, but wouldnt be as dynamic going forward. SOD is certainly better at RCB than out wide and could be serviceable there.
Whether we need to get a replacement RWB or another CB will be a big decision and might depend on how far along Butcher and Casey are.
Given how bare the squad is, its a problem we coulda done without.

I think Paton has benefited greatly from the injuries and suspensions we have had. With Slattery injured and both Spittal and Halliday unavailable yesterday he had to start. Whether he should have remained on the pitch is another matter.
I know Davor was on a booking, but imho, he was having a better game. I would have kept him on again, just to try and protect the defence.
I know we lost a stupid first goal but there was still a point in that game for us and the subs (SOD apart as that was an injury) weakened us again both defensively and going forward.
I get that Vale was done but Obika is never the answer there.
First Ive really seen Nicholson and wasnt that impressed, but not sure he was put on in his natural role, so wont judge him until he has had a run of games.
