  1. May 1971 I've no idea, tbh, there's almost nothing about the match anywhere. I know Gordon Whitelaw got our goal, and we went 1-0 up, but that's it.
  2. Burnley play a pretty distinct style that doesn't naturally rely on wide players being wide players, if that makes sense. Rangers are more expansive so you need your wide players to take players on and stretch defences, he's not that type.
  3. They aren't getting as many chances. Delve into xG and you'll find Murray needs four high xG chances to score, he's actually worse than Moussa in that stat. Players like Steven Maclean score after two, if not better. Murray simply got more chances at Hibs than other players are getting. He averaged two/three high xG chances at Hibs. MacLean has averaged under one shot on goal per game this season. Swap teams and Murray would have half the goals he has, and MacLean more than Murray has this season.
  4. He's not unlucky. The chances he misses are ridiculous. This isn't his first season in the top flight either. His overall record is 15 goals in 53 matches. Averages out at about 6/7 goals over a season. The rate you'd be expecting of a back up striker.
  5. Neithers MacLean, tbf. We don't really have anyone I'd be comfortable playing as a lone striker, with the knowledge McMillan has only played twenty minutes. We need someone capable of that. Curtis Main is proof you can find players of that quality if you're smart enough.
  6. One more goal than Sofien Moussa and James Taverner. Things like this are pointless. Eye test on Murray suggests he'll never be a regular goalscorer at this level over a season. I know you love the c**t but it's a simple fact. A purple patch in a team creating fifteen chances a match shouldn't be used to try and prove his ability.
  7. Yeah Leitch-Smith is someone I've mentioned who seems a really obvious replacement for MacLean, but I don't see him enough to notice any weaknesses. I sort of hope we don't outright replace MacLean, we have Scougall, and potentially Williams, who thrive in the space between midfield and attack, for some reason MacLean has decided that's the area of the pitch he wants to spend all his time in so he just swamps them. I doubt we'll ever see the best of Scougall/Williams, if we can't give them space to operate.
  8. St Johnstone v Real Madrid at the Bernabeau, a game most folk have no idea ever happened.
  9. I'd be gutted if we signed him. We've already got a "nuisance striker" who'll likely miss more than they score in Kane. We, like half the league, need someone who'll finish more than half their chances.
  10. His best form has been central, he's completely paceless so he'd be wasted on the wing. From the outside it seems pointless and not what Rangers need, at all. You've already got Docherty and Dorrans who do exactly what Arfield does. Just another Rangers signing based on name rather than what they'd actually add to the squad.
  11. You're a lucky man. Still a few days until you find out Mannus and MacLean are leaving.
  12. Murrays a below average top flight striker with above average work rate and pace, who's prone to purple patches. A decent third choice option for bottom half teams.
  13. Second last week looks like the decider. Zapata to score the winner for Sampdoria and hand Juve the title. As that's how football works.
  14. He's scored eight league goals, and scored in one game since November..
  15. Tade had a trigger clause and didn't extend so there must be some leeway on some clauses? Millars played 18 games this season according to Soccerbase, so a chance 20 is a trigger point?
  16. http://www.thefootballlife.co.uk/post/173092296615/st-mirren-summer-scouting-report-2018 Not sure how accurate it is or that, but I've enjoyed reading these.
  17. I don't see the logic in forcing him out when we're short of experience and central midfielders on next seasons squad.
  18. Falkirk fans on here reckon they've got a years contract extension clause on him. He deserves a chance at a higher level, but Alstons struggles in stepping up might put folk off.
  19. Tbf the wages United were apparently paying him were mental. A part time player couldn't refuse that
  20. Theres absolutely no chance we're signing Murray. He's contracted so would require a fee. #LongLiveTheBroon
