  1. This is my opinion. Its massively misjudged though, as the money from the Europa League is pathetic. They'd need to qualify for the CL Groups to be making money, but the way our coefficient is, that means they have to topple Celtic. They'll improve this year, Alves, Jack and potentially Dorrans are all upgrades, I'd argue Dorrans could be one of the best signings we've seen in this country in terms of current stature (an international who has played regularly in the EPL in the past season or two), but they still seem an attacking player or two to catching this Celtic team. They seem to be gambling on them toppling Celtic before their finances crumble, which seems daft, as realistically they could've built funds over the next decade, waiting for the inevitable slump Celtic will hit, and then go for a spell of dominance themselves, instead of harming their own future as they can't cope with the present.
  2. £1m + Christie on a permanent deal is an outstanding bit of business, as realistically, Hayes won't earn you more than that, considering Christie is easily worth double that if he can come even close to his potential. Its not as if Christie is some unknown quantity either.
  3. Aye. Well yes, the season of his life after he slithered back up the road.
  4. Funnily enough Portsmouth are yet another club who avoided liquidation as the fans raised the funds needed. They werent moved down leagues or anything, it was relegations that took them there. £1000 per fan they raised
  5. TBF you could have easily avoided all this by actually making an effort to save the old Rangers, instead of sitting behind your computers blaming everyone else.
  6. His name was chanted at McDiarmid last time he played there, hopefully we remember all he done for us in the years gone by and give him a warm applause when he returns.
  7. Yes, in a discussion where you're trying to prove that players who play well up here, go down South and bomb, then return up to Scotland, won't be as good as their first spell, Swanson is the perfect player to highlight...
  8. Stats wise, Jack and Halliday are virtually similar. I think Tansey is worse defensively than both, but better going forward, and in general, is a more rounded player.
  9. Makes you wonder if Ross rejecting Dundee has forced them back to McCann with a higher offer, rather than face an absolute huddy like Stubbs or Pressley.
  10. Worth remembering Stewart hit double figures in two seasons in the top flight. "one season wonder", though.
  11. Im suggesting they all played well enough to be playing, but theres a sense of frustration when they're outperforming players in the same league but still get ignored. Clark being ignored despite outperforming Hamilton, is another example
  12. Because its all done by agents, not chairmen turning up at managers hotels and accosting them in the pool. Its a completely mental story concocted by a group of journalists who have a swathe of history in this sort of thing, as they know fine well that fans of the Dundee clubs are utterly desperate for any news surrounding them. Its virtually identical to how the "Dundee journalists" pumped out rumour after rumour about Tommy Wright joining United, there was five different stories of release clauses and TW talking to Thompson within days of each other, despite our chairman repeatedly saying it was never happening. Dundee journalists have nothing to report on + Newsworthy story about Dundee club = Journalists all frantically making up stories to appear ITK so Dundee fans watch their site/twitters in hope of news.
  13. You genuinely believe a clause like that has ever existed? Why would St Mirren ever agree to a "clause" which utterly c***s their negotiating position for absolutely no reason whatsoever? "We value you and your contract at £100k Jack, so teams will have to offer that to be able to speak to you" "Nah, if a team offers £18k they get to agree a contract with me and force your hand" "Yes, we'll allow you to agree to join a different club before we negotiate a price with them, thats great business sense"
  14. So you're basing an entire prediction on a player on one mistimed tackle, taken from a game where he was ragdolled until then? He struggled physically in Serie A last season.
  15. Hes not remotely close to being a "blood and snotters" centre half.
  16. TBF Stevie May was completely ignored during his season with us, Mackay was the best Scottish right back in the country for nigh on four seasons and couldn't get near a squad, and we've now got Mark Reynolds, who can't hold down a starting place at Aberdeen, being selected ahead of Steven Anderson, who is widely considered the best Scottish centre half in the country. Thats not including the fact Murray Davidson and Michael O'Halloran were both red hot, and exactly what Scotland needed at those times, and couldn't get a shot.
  17. I've learned you have to be specific when quoting you at this time of night, else you get dragged into a multi-hour dredge of a "conversation"
  18. How? They spent an entire week pumping out the rumour they were signing him, St Mirren made a statement saying they'd rejected Dundees offer, Dundee fans continued with the rumours that they'd agreed a deal. Now we've got Dundee fans pumping out rumours they're getting Ross, St Mirren have made a statement saying they've rejected Dundees approach, and we'll no doubt still get stories about him joining them.
  19. I believes it because we're an established top four side who have won a major trophy under his stewardship, yes.
  20. Do Rangers fans actually watch any of the players they're constantly linking with their club? Alves being described as an "organiser", Jack as a "Hard man" and now McLean as a "grumpy hard working midfielder". Literally every definition is the exact opposite of what they are.
  21. Wait until you find out Hayes and Shinnie are apparently the two players he wants to take with him..
  22. St Mirren are older. We're the "Saintees" anyway.
