  1. It's called competition and rivalry. It's healthy and banter. Now away back to your own thread. [emoji1309]
  2. Lawless, Spittal, Doolan, Erskine, Storey, Sammon, Bannigan, Edwards. I am literally orgasming at this moment over the possible combinations. ????
  3. Saints fans not happy. Lost Storey and Sammon as well as also May signing for Dons. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
  4. Ffs. Be positive. Trust the manager. There is a player in there. Fans wanted a forward and manager has brought 2 guys in and still negativity. Let's get excited and behind the team.
  5. For a minute I thought I was on WAT reading the last 2-3 pages of this thread! What a shambles. First everyone is hysterical cause we lose our opening league match, then we are arguing about ditching the training ground for refurbishing Firhill. Let's hope the news hits about Storey tomorrow! Sounds promising. In all honesty I think he's a good fit and I think we should keep Nesbit also, as his performance this week v Saints was much improved. More minutes will only see him get better. He deserves a chance to prove it this season.
  6. [emoji1319][emoji1319][emoji1319] subscribing supports the club. Jagzone is actually very well done with interviews, highlights, audio commentary, full games and a few other perks. Excellent if you can't make games or want to see more than the shitey SPFL highlights or sportscene 30 seconds we usually get.
  7. Agree. We need another forward. No one disagrees with that probably least Archie and board but before this cup game the thread had already accepted defeat because of it. Let's have a little faith in he squad. And let them bring in the right players that are best for club.
  8. I say again as it looks like we're putting Saints out the cup. Everyone cool the jets. Nisbet having a much better game. Edwards scores a cracker and Turnbull the new lad looks sharp and a great purchase. Barton also much improved. We've played one league game and everyone starts banding around ideas of panic acquiring a bang average forward. And by the way, Nisbet may not be he answer but to compare him to Graham is a tad unfair. He's a young lad and doesn't have experience of Graham. He deserves the shot Archie is giving him and experience in the first team. Good result pending and hopefully Doolan back for Celtic game. Let's not lose our marbles quite yet.
  9. Everyone freaking out and wanting to sign an average player once again. He's ok but he's not an improvement. There is a reason he bounces around clubs. Average at best and we don't need that. He'd still want a decent wage. I'll laugh when Graham signs for another club with all this hysterical chat on the thread. Archie I am sure is working hard on options but hopefully some options that improve the squad and we can get in with a 2/3 year contract and possible resell value. If Archie does bring him in then so be it and hopefully he can show he's a force in the league for us. I suppose we will wait and see.
  10. Just watched the Archie interview with Max on Jagzone. That's a very clearly upset Archie. You could tell he was not happy with the players and the mistakes made. When asked if another striker is needed, he snapped a tad at him and probably due to frustration as he states we didn't get our targets. What I like about Archie is that he's not going to bring in a shitey journeyman just to appease the fans as the player has to add value and be worth something. Also watching the game, I totally agree that once the first goal goes in the players let Hibs dictate everything. No wonder he is unhappy as the squad, striker aside, and Doolan getting injured has the quality to contain that Hibs side and not make silly mistakes. I thought Osman didn't look himself and so expect a much better performance from him as captain and the lads this week versus Saints. A response is needed. On Nisbet, he looks way off the pace. It's a tad unfair to expect him to be the first choice forward with Doolan out but you'd expect him to at least bust a gut and get stuck in. I can't see us not signing a forward but I agree panicking and bringing in another Baird isn't going to help us. Time for Lawless, Edwards, Spittal and co to step up and take some chances whilst we sort out the final third and get Dools back.
  11. Ooft don't say that to Tam or this new guy. They consider themselves Central Europe. Don't want to be associated with those chicken farmers out east [emoji6]
  12. Perfectly fine is not what we are looking for. We want excellence! ;-)
  13. What's all the love for Brian Graham about? He's clearly shown he is not good enough for the premier league. (Saints & County he stunk) We wanted him when he was playing against us in Championship banging in goals for the Rovers, and that is where he needs to stay as even last year with the best team in the championship he only managed a handful of goals. He's not going to make us a better team and would rather have Nesbitt as #2 than that haddie. Let Jack Ross at the Midden have him. I trust Archie has another player who will make us better up his sleeve. Time will tell.
  14. I suspect due to the fact Archie has taken Thistle past signing the likes of Baird, Kerr and mediocre journeyman types, panic signing to bolster the squad he will have a list of 2-3 targets for the forward role and all of them higher quality than we've had in past. With exception of mighty Doolan. Hopefully we've got one of them and we get that news this week. Miles Storey would be a good signing. If we've agreed a fee with the Player and he's interested in the move then hopefully it's just agreeing personal terms and we hear the news very shortly. It'd then be nice next week to get another right back in the door. All these fees we're paying! What is going on!?
  15. I'd be absolutely shocked if Archie left for Jam Tarts. England is probably more in line with his ambition not battling with the midlothian "Chavez" on what formation, what players to play or sign. Levein and Budge will be looking for someone to control.
  16. Totally agree. It's a good problem to have though. I think Archie will lean towards a more defensive setup this opening weekend with an extra man in midfield like a 4-5-1 or 3-5-2. This means Barton will be used in his preferred position. It's more against diddy teams [emoji6] where if Osman, Barton and Banzo are all fit how do you accommodate them? Absolutely would play Spittal as he's showing his value on set pieces as you say that will possibly be a skill set we need. Plus on counter attack we have those options in team. I'd almost say he may drop one of Edwards, Lawless or Erskine and have them as impact players from the bench. Apparently we have another signing this week; hopefully that forward we all have on our wish list. Remember the English players are all released this week so I'd expect the targets Archie had to be signed up this next 1-2 weeks. Gone are the days we panic sign shitey journeymen who are past it like Scott "cheater" McDonald. Keown, Spittal and Turnbull all look like great business to me!
  17. Tough to decide the best line up for Hibs game. If another player or more come in later this week, which has been suggested (we all hope it is a striker) then it will be a great problem for management to have. If me, then I would lean toward starting the game with extra body in midfield and ensuring Barton, Banzo and Osman are all playing. The extra muscle in midfield and protection for defense seems sensible. I think at some point in the game to win it you want Spittal, Erskine, Lawless and Dools on the park together but you also want to walk away with the win or a good battling performance and at bare minimum a point in your opening fixture. It is only going to get harder as our first 6 fixtures are tough. To make top 6 we need to take points off Hibs, St Johnstone, Dundee, Hearts etc.
  18. Welsh will be lucky to play again is what I've heard. Shame as he played well last season till he got injured again.
  19. Doesn't seem like Coventry rate him. Let's hope he's better for us than them. We'll find out soon enough.
  20. Hate this nonsense. Just post a pic with him flying a scarf above his bunnet and be done with it. Still looks like several where right. Defender in is Turnbull. No idea how good he is. But in Archie we trust.
  21. I don't think Edwards is garbage. Tad harsh considering his good season he just had. He had some great games last year, showed he has a very high fitness level, is very professional and can play the game well. It's preseason and he deserves to show us if he can do the same this coming season.
  22. I heard from a friend who knows him that not one club has offered Welsh a contract. He's made of glass, he wouldn't pass a medical and this last injury has shown that he is a baw hair from retirement. So he might as well retire or he could suffer lasting consequences. Could be bollocks but it's what I've heard this summer.
