  1. I also think they don’t have the knowledge. Not all of them but majority. I bet if you asked dinosaur Chick Young or even a more intelligent journo like Tom English to analyze and breakdown any team outside Celtic they’d be scared to death. They just don’t know the league well enough at that level. Where as you watch MOTD or listen to England’s football daily on 5 live they can go through each team and talk about them interestingly for hours. We don’t have the motivation or talent to do that. English I used to actually like. But the more you listen to him the more you realize his limited ability to discuss any team in depth outside the top 5. I think they truly just see our teams as those that play against the big boys every week. Other than that...who cares? Sad but I think true.
  2. I got around to listening to podcast this weekend. To be fair I thought McLeod did well. He’s quite a punchy character and kept things moving well. One mistake which he dealt with well I thought. I though ‘Chico’ was unbearable yet again. When is this guy going to properly retire? He’s the Prince Phillip of Scottish sports radio and TV. His awkward remarks, laughing at his own jokes etc. Him and McPherson need to just pack it in. I thought the ex-player pundits and English are spot on with SFA and their dithering on a new gaffer and enjoyed listening to lower league discussions, so all around not a bad program at all. However is it just me or are these guys lazy b*****ds? We’re on a 3 week break and the volume of programs has just dissipated. Don’t get me wrong we can’t discuss games as there aren’t any, but there is still plenty to talk about like: - ins and outs. - discussing each team in more depth. What they need for 2nd half of year to meet their objectives. - best parts of first half of year. - goals of season so far? - How will season pan out? - Championship and lower league analysis which i enjoy catching up on. There is 6-8 hours worth of chat just above. But i get it. Not motivated enough to talk about the diddy teams outside OF. I totally agree that BBC take the rest of us for a ride. The bigoted glory hunting 50% of the country they are happy to appease but screw the rest of us who enjoy a ‘provincial’ team. I hate when they use that term. It doesn’t matter how much you complain or challenge them on it they will just tell you to scarper.
  3. Yes. Now that’s a man and team of the time Jags fans can reminisce regards sheer hatred. [emoji35] We enjoyed a nice rivalry at that time.
  4. What is it with players having ambition and going to Ross County? It worked for Scott Fox. His role as the Scotland keeper has been nothing short of phenomenal.
  5. Mapreets time for that signing deadline has long gone. ;-) #fakenews With the Spanish sunshine coming early next week, I was hoping that we'd bring in a body or two so they could be on the plane there. Get them training with the team however I would think that there would be one or two trialists possibly coming? But I believe Penrice will be with the team as will a fit Captain Abdul which is exciting. Any update on Booth? Or on Bannigan in regards their traveling and fitness levels?
  6. Didnt see this. Maybe we’re not the best desination if rules say he can't ;=)
  7. https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/teams/celtic/which-scottish-club-would-be-the-best-fit-for-celtic-s-eboue-kouassi-1-4652820 Looks like we are the perfect fit for Eboue Kouassi Celtics three million pound young Ivorian midfielder. Does the Scotsman know something we don't?
  8. If you follow English and others like K.Jackson they are filled with self importance. It doesn’t come across on the radio or in papers but I’ve also had a run in with him on social media about coverage on ‘provincial’ clubs about a year ago. Remember these guys are soaked in their bias for what they consider larger stories. Old Firm, Aberdeen and Capital clubs are what he is interested in. In English’s case he can be very smug and condescending and Twitter shows this of him often. Notice on that Twitter thread link above as soon as he was taken to task by several fans and listeners he disappeared. So he didn’t agree due to his lack of respect for smaller clubs and their supporters but he couldn’t make an argument so he just doesn’t reply and probably labels that as Twitter abuse. Used to like him but gone off him this past year.
  9. Didn’t realize we were going back to Spain. What’s the dates for that?
  10. Would someone at the BBC stop putting Archie ‘wooooft’ McPherson on the air. His stories don’t even make sense.
  11. Agreed. Vile troglodytes with very little IQ. This new year and as we get ready for 2nd half of season it’s time to support the whole team and management so we can climb this league. I’ve no time for these types of people.
  12. Happy New Year ???? let’s make 2018 about getting behind this team [emoji817] % and moving up this league. We’re not perfect and mistakes will be made but #wearethistle and we’re just better than our bigoted noisy ignorant neighbors!
  13. Yep. Surely Barton has to stay in middle of back three. We look way more comfortable like that. I don’t think with Turnbull, Keown and Devine the leadership and balance is right. Barton may want to play in midfield but he’s a born sweeper / CB.
  14. Barton back in defense is my preference as our midfielders get back to fitness.
  15. Muzzie is also back in full training along with Abdul. Good news.
  16. I’d had a few too many bevs and you’re right I didn’t get it. ???? Apologies
  17. But he didn’t do it in the street did he. And when has someone who’s been hit by a football on the street or anywhere in public been done for assault by the law? Don’t be a muppet. ???? Silly ‘act before thinking’ action. Nothing more or less. He’s apologized by calling the fan and invited them to attend firhill for next meeting of the two. Amazes me how people go well above their station on these matters. Everyone has made silly mistakes in life and career. It’s part of life. Now away and say something sensible if that is possible.
  18. Yeah the big difference which is concerning is that our rivals are all better this season. Killie, County, Accies are all picking up points where we haven’t. Last year they didn’t. Even Dundee with McCann look sharper however my hope is they remain inconsistent. Saints are however not as productive and we just beat a good steelmen side. We have to be gritty and work hard for points. It’s not something Archie has built the team to do and so we remain a tad cuddly. I noticed tonight we were more direct and less possession based in our play. It worked well with two up front in Sammon and Storey. Let’s hope Archie is working out how to play with the players we have and to their strengths.
  19. Understand that. But hopefully with Woods available we can steady up the defense by getting Barton back there. Even when we had midfielders available Archie played Barton in midfield. I don’t regularly critique Archie but even without injuries this season he played Adam in midfield.
  20. Listening to Ian McCall and Michael Stewart on Sportsound last night and glad is was them talking about Jags and not the rest of the muppets they usually have on there. I agree with Ian that it’s time to put Barton back to the middle of a back three. He played a lot back there last year and was solid as CB/Sweeper. He won POTY and I think as we have some CM back from injury it’s time to make that change as we’re shipping goals galore. Thoughts?
  21. I don’t see how any of those names are better than what we’ve got. I’m for sticking with Archie, as Burnley did with Dyche when they went down. It’s inevitable we’re going to always flirt occasionally with relegation and We’ve got a manager who knows the club and knows things are not good enough presently. Sacking gaffers has not really served us well. Let’s get the injured back and try to keep in touch. Then hopefully we can give it a good shot and if we go down then so be it. We’ll come back up as Archie has done it before.
  22. Kris Boyd has to go down as the worst pundit in history and he’s not even given up playing yet. I like many laughed out loud when Stewart came at him with %s. [emoji38] English called him Naive in his “daddy tone” and for the life of me I cannot understand why Killie, Clarke or even Boyd himself wants to continue this embarrassing relationship with the BBC. The more he is on the more he comes over as a pond scum. Amazing! [emoji38]
  23. Clearly BBC OF orcs like McIntyre and Co who are constantly pushing McInnes are trying to unsettle him. Its all a ploy. It’s happening all over all types of media. Radio, TV and papers. Aberdeen fans should be raging as Rangers clearly don’t have the money so my theory is they unsettle him to the point where: 1. The get the edge on the double header. Objective achieved! 6 points in the bag. And 2. Then as they cannot afford the $1m payment to Milne for Derek they will ‘hum & haw’ allowing more media pressure to pile on until Aberdeen are worn down and Rangers can pay in installments or Dons give in and let him away for a smaller compensation. I could be wrong but I feel like these OF dirty tactics are well in play for the 5-6 weeks and this was the plan all along. I suspect McInnes will be Aberdeen boss no longer unless he knocks it on head himself saying he is ‘not interested’ and will be staying at Aberdeen. I really hate these idiots. The OF are scum of the earth as whilst above may not all be true it may well ring some truth as there are definitely dirty tactics being applied.
  24. Sure. As I admitted. I was a tad strong with the wordage but overall if fit and consistent we could use him presently and he’d do well in Championship for any side. I am sure we agree on that.
