  1. I agree, and would certainly hope this was the case. I also think post-independence that the current parties would all have to go through a period of rebranding and re-evaluating their positions. Both Labour and Conservative parties have absolutely toxic images in Scotland just now, and if either want to have any sort of success I'd think they'd have to shed the association with the pre-independence parties (and obviously get some competent people in in the vase of SLab).
  2. I would imagine the current tory vote will be split in an independent Scotland as well tbh. I'd guess that, like with yes voters voting for SNP as a means to an end, there's a sizeable number of voters going Tory seeing them as the only viable alternative to the SNP. In any case, I'd expect that we'd continue with a PR system of voting and the governance of Scotland would fluctuate between coalitions of centre left parties and centre right parties.
  3. Would you feel more or less comfortable with Scotland being able to negotiate our own relationship with Europe rather than being lumped in with whatever shambles Westminster get?
  4. Bannigan is a different case entirely. Scotland actually have some relatively good centre midfielders, certainly a number of players playing above the level Bannigan can. Lindsay should be in consideration on the basis that Scotland have about 2 centre backs coming through and the other one is currently injured.
  5. That's a sickener for Welsh. Spends the best part of 2 seasons out, then a season of being absolute shite before finally looking like he might be good enough for this level and picking a bit of form and he's fucked again. Leaves us a bit of a predicament for centre midfield. Don't think the Barton/Osman pairing really works or brings out the best in either of them, but with Bannigan, Fraser and Welsh out now, there's not much choice. Don't know anything about any of the young players, I see that McCarthy has been on the bench recently, could be a chance for him to get some games in over the next wee while.
  6. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/gordon-strachan-stands-plea-fast-track-4570361 Yes, people do think and say exactly that.
  7. He put in a decent cross for a Christie Elliott goal against St Mirren a few seasons ago I think, but I can't actually think of a positive contribution he's made other than that so absolutely no great loss. Shame, as I mind being quite excited when he signed.
  8. He's apparently already on loan at Oldham for the season, so don't know how that could work
  9. Didn't he turn down Bialystok in the summer or something? He was alright, just didn't quite fit with how we play and Dumbuya is better than him anyway. Doubt he'd have been happy sitting on the bench for 6 months, so makes sense all round.
  10. I'd guess if we do have any interest in him, it would be on a pre-contract for next season and with Ziggy away in the summer we'll need someone to cover right back. He also appears to be able to play at centre back so presumably he's a like for like for Ziggy.
  11. Both playoff finalists went up, but only Airdrie went up due to Rangers. Dumbarton would have gone up anyway as they won the playoffs.
  12. Are you suggesting that a team simply wouldn't bother marking Azeez cause they don't think he'll score anyway?
  13. This. Option A would be acceptable enough with black shorts and socks. Too much red makes the whole thing look garish. Option B is awful.
  14. Option B. If this is the standard we're going to be subjected to, we should probably just fold.
  15. I'd far rather Archibald brought in a solid defender, not least because, Lyle Taylor aside, the strikers he's brought in have all been astonishingly shite.
  16. http://www.staffordshirelife.co.uk/jonny-wilkes-t-help-robbie-williams-best-mate/story-20349251-detail/story.html Every sentence out his mouth might as well just be "I'm a total w****r"
  17. He was, and I can only imagine still is, an absolute fanny.
  18. We don't have idiots saying absolute nonsense like "it's a Barry day the day like" though, so swings and roundabouts.
  19. I put "but" at the end of sentences. Didn't realise I was the worst kind of scum until now tbh.
  20. Devine is utter garbage. He's looked passable the last few weeks in a back 3, but outwith that he's been utterly clueless. We should be looking for an upgrade on him as soon as possible.
  21. You must be awful at remembering. Nothing says solemn like a massive poppy on the front of a Vauxhall Corsa IMO.
