I get Ric's concerns. But I have a few questions. Firstly was Carson really one of our best performers? I would have said Main, Strain, Baccus, Gogic, Gallagher, O'Hara and maybe Ayunga and Fraser all comfortably ahead of him in terms of performance. He managed to silence his critics that were concerned by the loss of Alnwick and were concerned by his lack of game time and dodgy performances of the last few seasons. I would say that like Main the question is he can reproduce his form under a new management in a new team and with a new defence. If he can reproduce his form then good for him. He obviously is strengthening Dundee. Why else would they buy him? But if they did not spend that money on Carson they would have spent it else where. Put it this way, if we were going to spend 100,000k on a goal keeper would Carson be top of our list? I don't think so. Would we even want to spend it on a keeper? We saw Gallagher go an be replaced instantly by what looks like a significant up grade. Is Hemming an upgrade? He might be. In the pool we fish in he's as likely to be as anyone else. -

I'm not upset. There is nothing new or unique about what happened with Carson. In fact it seems to be not too dissimilar to how we got him from Dundee United. No way is he better than Alnwick or Hladky. Prior to signing for us, it looked like he was done. He came in did the job and did it well enough that we did not miss either of our previous goal keepers. I don't think he's better but he did well enough to at least have a debate on the issue. On Hemming, concerns and Killie fans comments aside, he's done everything that's been asked of him and conceded one competitive goal so far. He looks to have the confidence of his defenders and the manager. Think he'll do alright. -

I've watched Urminsky with the youth teams a few times and there is definitely a player there. I would say potentially better than Carson, but of course with a keeper there needs to be all of the mental side and it remains to see if he can step up to the big league. I would not worry too much about him coming in. And for all the talk of Carson being a world beater I thought he was good and solid but not the best goalie we've seen in the last few years by a long chalk. Hemmings has kept 3 clean sheets in the group stages of the LC which is more than Carson did last year. -

Overall I thought we were good. First half was strangely dull considering we scored four goals. A little nervy at first then settled after a straightforward goal from a corner. Forfar got no Joy from our back three with Taylor in particular looking very good. (might have pipped Strain for MoM for me). The midfield looked a bit flat with Baccus very quiet. Mandron totally bullying the Forfar defence. Still four goals is four goals. Second half was a better watch, even if the only real question was if we would get a fifth (spoiler alert - we never). But We seemed to be able to conjure chances and played well with Baccus stepping up and looking the part. Up front we missed a number of good chances. Not quite sure what to make of the front three. They were certainly good in parts. Credit to Forfar, second half they stuck with it and worked their socks off -

Oft I'd have said Kent was most overrated. I think mostly Kamara was not rated at all. Morelos was the biggest waste though. There was a player there (decent at least). -

I guess it is about how confident you are that you can replace the player and/or survive without them. If you think of Kent, Moreles and Kamara. I would have thought that even at their best they were replaceable. Certainly for the money being talked about. (it's also to a degree about what the player wants) In defence of not selling though, you can only sell if there is a buyer. I don't think any of those three had firm bids and most of it was just paper talk. I don't think you can be criticised for not selling where there is no buyer. But yes in Bantz terms it is also fair to point and laugh at players once touted at £20m+ struggling to get a club or going for pennies in comparison to what the papers where saying they were worth -

Was Fuffalo no top scorer in Europa league a few years ago. So not sure what that really means. Have you got a like for like replacement for Morelos. (But hopefully without the baggage) then not a bad bit of business. I mean the morelos of a few years ago, not last season ob. A like for like replacement there would basically mean me getting me auld boots on again.
