  1. Austin is untried at anything outside league 2, O'hara is a raw youngster, Miller struggles to play 90mins due to fitness and baird has proven before that he isnt up to the challenge of the Premiership. Bob also has a questionable injury record. If we go up we will need better if we are going to avoid being stuck in a relegation fight.
  2. If we are lucky enough to go up players like Baird wont do unfortunately.
  3. No we'll need to build a team capable of competing in the division first. We have the basis of a good side but will need to add to it. I still do not see why St Johnstone would be able to pay more than us in wages for players. We have bigger crowds and our finances are in the best shape they have been in years with profits posted in the last two accounts including one of 1.5 million in the last set. With the added bonus of us being on a level playing field regarding the money from the SPL . To think we can only compete with ICT and Hamilton on the wages front if we are lucky enough to go up pretty defeatist if you ask me and serious questions would need to be asked of the bod.
  4. Christ if we go up and cant compete with st johnstone on the wages front chances are we'll go straight back down. Id like to think with bigger crowds and a good bank balance we'd at least be able to do that.
  5. If we go up and he leaves then I doubt he'll be playing in the Premier league unless Hearts or Aberdeen or someone of that ilk comes in for him. If we go up then I reckon he'll either be playing with us in the Premier or have gone down south. If we dont go up then he'll either be at St Johnstone or down south. I cant see him moving to St Johnstone if we go up.
  6. Bigger club but currently not a more successful one. I'd reckon we're a bigger club than a few in the top flight but we're nowhere near as successful at the moment and that's what counts at the end of the day.
  7. Unfortunately if we don't go up we cant offer him top flight football. Apart from that he's desperate to stay at Falkirk. The big difference between our sides over the last few years has been the guys in the boardrooms. The bod at St Johnstone have done a fantastic job both in financial terms and football terms. Theyve had to replace manager after manager moving on to bigger things but always seem to make a decent decision on who to appoint next. Compare that to the clowns we had for a number of years appointing numpty after numpty and spunking cash on veteran players . Hopefully if we do get up we wont make that mistake again.
  8. Was excellent for partick there in their championship season. All would depend on who we get in to play right back i suppose.
  9. If it wasnt for the money side of things youd be right. Around about 1mill guaranteed for coming 12th in the top flight compared to 400k for 2nd in the champ. To move your club on you have to be in the top flight unfortunately.
  10. Another feck up allowing season ticket holders 4 each.
  11. I reckon he'll be first choice at the dons next season to be honest. Our current backup looks a half decent option and if we were to go down the loan option again I'd take a look at Jack Hamilton at Hearts. Excellent young keeper who will be looking for more game time.
  12. I see season ticket holders are getting priority for 2nd leg. Cant see there being huge problems getting a ticket for it with the capacity of rugby park.
  13. Why in this day and age can season ticket holders not get their cards activated for games like this. Surely should be straight forward enough to have the cards linked to credit cards so that the cash can be taken off and the card activated by a simple phonecall. We still seem to be in the dark ages when it comes to this sort of thing.
  14. Christ how long does it take to log on to a feckin website and buy a ticket. Took me two mins. The only sensible complaint i can see is that if your a south stander you might have to sit in the main stand. Otherwise anyone desperate for a ticket should get one.
  15. Its not sold out yet and tickets are available online. If u go every week and havent got one yet then youve noone to blame but yourself.
  16. Main reason was cost. With this being a joint venture with the council it was them that wanted to build a big expensive main stand to start with not us in the main. They wanted the extra office space involved. The other two stands are being paid for solely by the club. It means though we have 3 stands compared to other grounds that have 4 that have cost peanuts in comparison. A 4th stand will be funded completely by falkirk to when the right deal is on the table. No point in us spending money we dont have on a stand that will only be used very infrequently. Plans are in the pipeline to get the ground finished in the near future though.
  17. Aye but surely you'd just make areas where everyone stands like your doing with the rail seating. I've stood at loads of games in current stands and have never come across any incidents or problems. Rail seating to me is just an unecessary cost.
  18. They were about 30 points off the top of the league last season. Will be a while before their anywhere near promotion.
  19. I 'm afraid I'm still dont see the benefit though. Surely its cheaper to put in normal seats and just allow folk to stand up if they want like they do anyway at a lot of grounds. Whats the benefit from having rail seating over allowing people to stand at their seats just now?
  20. I've never had a close look at this rail seating. Whats the difference between that and just allowing people to stand up at the seats they have in place just now?
  21. Think we got a good deal through george craig. He was a marquee salesman. Was far better at it than running a fitba club thats for sure.
  22. Mckinnon signing a 3 year deal? You'd think clubs likd utd would be a bit more careful with their recent record of managers. He might very well be excellent but why leave yourselves open to big compensation claims by signing 3 year deals with managers.
