  1. They haven’t, but they look likely too unless there is a total crash from themselves with their remaining games.
  2. Beith are not licensed so they can’t go up either just like Abbey Vale and Lochar so there can’t be a playoff unfortunately.
  3. If Abbey Vale or Lochar win the league there won’t be a playoff. Linlithgow will go straight up unless Creetown win, then there will be a playoff.
  4. Certainly picking and choosing the games I go too now. Might head to Abbey vale tomorrow and see what’s going on. Can’t see Newton stopping them though unless they are at full strength which is doubtful with a 7pm kick off coming over for that time. more looking forward to a potential “Super Saturday” outcome next weekend which might be a bit more fun. Then there’s all the cup finals coming up. As long as we see a variety of sides in different finals it could be good, compared to last season when it was just threave or saints, got very boring after a while I have to say.
  5. The only positive I took from that was that 3 champions promoted after next season. However, if the lowland is dropping a tier does that now mean the rules may change for teams like beith to go up instead of having a license. Surely at tier 6 you won’t need a license? Other than that, postman pat seems pleased with his work to save and preserve his beloved Gala. I just hope it falls through and league 2 clubs are against this as well as other SPFL clubs.
  6. The hedge belongs in the SPFL, f**k Spartans, colt bashers. Elgin down, Brechin up
  7. Luncarty come south tomorrow in the shield for a place in next seasons Scottish cup, who to watch out for? Know their striker Davies is decent but hopefully the south team have a small chance.
  8. Is this coming up to 4 clubs in 2 seasons? The boy is always on the move, has he actually won anything? Don’t get they hype, it seems if there is no money involved and sees it elsewhere, he moves. Theirs being ambitious but you have to win trophies to work your way up surely
  9. Kujabi…. Followed by Abdul Osman. Top class
  10. Just back from Heathhall, some entertainment in the 2nd half. Football quality not the greatest but you could see both teams were cautious and didn’t want to lose the game until the last 10/15 minutes when it just went end to end. If Lochar had Anderson playing with the chances they had in the 1st half, it could have been game over by half time. Creetown will have better games, will be there’s to lose now, I can see them beating Lochmaben but Stranraer and Lochar…. It could be close. A good healthy crowd, would say maybe pushing 200 all in? Not 100% sure though.
  11. I 100% know that. What I’m saying is that when the juniors moved over to the west of Scotland football league, how many from the juniors committee still have an input on how the west of Scotland football league is run. They are changing the team a lot, only a few consistent players have been starting for their run in of fixtures. They are taking the league as priority as well as the shield. They are both the main focus, it’s just if they have the legs to do it.
  12. Here here! League gets berated enough by those outside the south so good to see some positivity within this. Looking forward to the game tonight, can’t call it. For a nice title race run in I would like to see Lochar win. Just depends who’s available. Anderson to score is probably a certain. I’m sure Jardine will have his boys fired up as will Adams. Abbey Vale should beat uppers and there will be an interesting game at Lochmaben. Uppers currently not being allowed to play on their pitch by the council, unbelievable
  13. And you’re telling me when the west moved, all the junior committee associated with the west juniors stepped down and have no input in the west of Scotland league? Aye right.
  14. South isn’t dying. All you have to look at is the junior association making stupid decisions. Long may they stay in talks/association with the west as if things keep going the way they are with the juniors, expect clubs to come south. Nithsdale have even been put off with applying. If the juniors disband then south will go west. So simply put, as long as the junior association exists, the south will not be moving and may even grow nicely
  15. best team lost, another west v West final. What the dinosaurs at the Junior association would of wanted as well unfortunately Well played East Craigie
  16. Looking forward to it, if creetown win it’s their title. If Lochar win then it will go to the last game Lochar will hate dropping points against uppers last Wednesday then Good to see Newton and Nithsdale go for a cup run as well. Newton are a good side when they are at full strength. It’s been inconsistency with players unavailable due to work, injuries that’s hampered them.
  17. This was what I was wondering, are this Bo’ness going to be better than United or will they find their level in 2/3 seasons time?
  18. It will be close. This my kinda guess from what I hear: Possible no’s: Stranraer, Creetown, Wigtown & B, Lochar Thistle Possible Yes’s: Abbey Vale, Dalbeattie, Uppers, Nithsdale, Saints, Caley Braves No Idea: Mids, Newton S, Lochmaben We will know by beginning of may I believe.
  19. This saints side are rotten, them and Star have been abysmal this year. What happened to Richie maxwells star side? Bring back those days with Russell Currie running riot. They will be joining this league soon it looks like. As for Saints, the manager must of thought the league were the same standard as Glasgow Saturday amateurs with the players he signed, how wrong could he be. Signing players from AS Airdrie and thinking they would work at this level? Seen better in the Dumfries Sunday league than that. Both squads need a clear out, saints especially. They could bring back Jordan, wasn’t very well liked by some people but done a good job. Not sure how it will work for Star, probably lose most their squad too, can’t see some of them boys wanting to play south football especially Cox & Kilpatrick
  20. I agree. It’s the amount of flack the league gets from the west. Absolute nonsense most the time as they hardly know anything about the league but will happily slag it off because it’s “in the way” Let’s be honest, it comes down to player pool and money. Both are limited in this region, we’ve already lost a number of clubs (YMCA, Heston in recent) due to this. More players to choose from the closer you are to the central belt. Though the clubs that are still around battle on with their small committees and get the facilities up to scratch as much as they can. I’m actually not too sure if any of our clubs are paying players this season, I know a few were last year but stopped. Yet who knows what happens in the future, and yes it is somehow likely that we will have to merge in some way unless we have a big influx of clubs. But that’s a few years away yet, so we will just have to enjoy the pyramid the way it is for a few more years
  21. I don’t remember Darvel “battering” St Cuthberts last year. Was a lot closer than what people in the juniors thought But I guess it’s just another one who has their west tinted glasses on and disregards the south… all because their champion isn’t licensed
  22. In other news, strong talk of no Caley braves (Edusport academy) playing in the south next year. They will play in lowland development league instead.
  23. Aww the west juniors won’t have a team in the promotion playoffs this year so turn on the south mind we were involved first while you dinosaurs didn’t want anything to do with the pyramid. Now you come over and want to dictate to everyone how it should be. At least some of our teams are showing ambition and are more prepared while others are just happy being in the west league and don’t want to progress.
  24. 2 more?! Mids and Lochar maybe? Though I thought Lochar may be a few years away when I spoke to someone associated with them. Nithsdale? Though I am not sure if they know if they are going west or staying.
