  1. Nothing's happening here so here's a great misty pic of the toon taken by Sons fan Kenny McKenzie.
  2. Write out 100 times, I shall write the word less fewer times in future.
  3. I would find it curious if Faz did take the Stranraer job. They are in a much worse position than they were when he was offered the job last time. His and Aitken's stocks are fairly high at the moment so why not wait until their contracts are up at the end of the season. A zillion mile dull trip for every home game too. Good luck to him if he does go and maybe the financial incentive is good for him to move. There will though be plenty able deputies available, able and willing to do the job. If we're going for former Sons, then I wouldn't say no to someone like Allan Moore.
  4. If Findo is reading, can we transfer our player sponsorship to Danny Harvie please?
  5. Well done to Steve Aitken and Mark Docherty. Both highly deserved awards.
  6. It means we beat Falkirk at home without any assistance from Ryan Stevenson. The absence of whom your manager used as an excuse for a 4-1 defeat.
  7. On 17th December 2016, we beat Falkirk 2-1 at home. Ryan Stevenson came on as we tried to waste time in the 86th minute.......
  8. I'm sorry to hear of Ryan Stevenson's injury and wish him a speedy recovery. It sounded like a nasty one. However, on our way back from the Morton v Dumbarton match at Cappielow, on Radio Scotland, it sounded like both the pundit and Gary Locke were almost blaming Raith's defeat on Stevenson's exit (somewhere around the 20 minute mark?) Whilst I think Stevenson had an unjustified bad press amongst Sons fans, in his last four games for us, his earliest appearance as a sub was 74 minutes v Hibs at Easter Rd, when we were already 2-0 down. In the other games it was all after the 80th minute. To be fair, against Ayr he made an impact by scoring the equaliser. Also, in his last full game for Sons he scored the winner against QoS on 3rd December. If losing Ryan Stevenson is used in any way as an excuse for a turning point in a game then I'd suggest that smacks of desperation.
  9. The form table, compiled over eight games, makes interesting reading. The Bonnyrigg games were in the middle of that run and if you slice it in two, it goes two wins, one draw and one defeat both before and after. The defeats, against Morton and Hibs were versus the sides either side of us on that form table. If you add in the result one further back, a draw against Dunfermline, then that is the form for the last quarter against all teams in the division i.e. four wins, three draws and two defeats. Pretty good really and reinforcing evidence that the cup defeat was indeed a blip.
  10. I don't know if anyone has pointed out a rather obvious contradiction in Celtic's decision to loan Thomson to QoS. On 22nd of Dec prior to Celtic's game with Hamilton, Brendan Rodgers was pretty scathing in his dismissal of 3G surfaces. Does he know about Palmerston do you think?
  11. Just as well we know who the 'Celtic midfielder' is eh? http://www.dumbartonfootballclub.com/news/?mode=view&id=2806
  12. I'm pleased for Steve Aitken, seven points from nine in very difficult circumstances and when two of the three opponents are Falkirk and Dundee Utd is very impressive. Perhaps those who made all the fatalistic posts after the Bonnyrigg cup exit will now reflect on how taking a longer term view might be the wiser option than a knee jerk after one particularly bad and embarrassing result? Mark Docherty did richly deserve his man of the match award but really, what about Garry Fleming? I simply love the guy and his attitude to the game. There is literally no improvement possible in him - he gives 100% all the time, every game. He was all over the park today. Good luck to Joe Thomson who is an excellent young player and to Ryan Stevenson who I think was a target for some unfair criticism. However, would I rather have him or Nade? Nae contest! Orrabest fellow Sons fans!
  13. Out of the teams he's played for, maybe. However, in general he's a Sellick fan.
  14. I think he did play some games for Accies. I think latterly though he was with Beith Juniors.
  15. I did a blog post about him and the Carlisle move a few years ago clicky. Kenny was never a Stan Bowles but for us he was deadly in the 18 yard box. He went from Carlisle to York City and from there to Workington Town. I think he ended his career in the juniors.
  16. The programme editor was probably confused when the guy to KW's right shared his Christian name and to his left shared his surname.
  17. Kenny Jenkins is next to Ronnie Kidd and Kenny Wilson is next to Kenny Jenkins. It was Wilson who went to Carlisle.
  18. Just to see if it is only me that thinks this. Has anyone noticed the facial likeness of Ian Cathro to a regular contributor on Sons Sorrow?
