  1. It must be October soon, yes that month in which almost every year the Sons support call for the head of the incumbent manager. Sons are currently sit in 21st place in the SPFL, seven places behind Hibs, four places behind Dundee Utd and two places behind Dunfermline. Each of the clubs mentioned have full time staff and both budgets and attendances in several multiples of ours. If you want a more successful team, choose another team - don't call for the manager to go. He's doing his best.
  2. So lets figure this one out. We release Kirkpatrick and belittle his scoring record in league 1. However we sign Robert Thomson, based on......
  3. My typo, sorry 3-2. Radio Scotland said Kirkpatrick, Robertson and Taggart in their match report. On checking, yes I see it was Waters.
  4. Nice to see Jordan Kirkpatrick and Scott Taggart scoring for Alloa in their 3-1 victory over the holders in tonight's Betfred cup tie. As for signings, there's to be a major one on Tuesday. Not a player though.
  5. Far too early for Dumbarton supporters talking about sacking managers. That's usually October's topic
  6. Well.....he would have probably been the club contact with the bank. Bert was very persuasive and a good communicator. His no longer being there may have made a difference in the bank's overall view of things. Bert hadn't been a member of the board for quite some time. He was CEO, an employee of Brabco/DFC
  7. I understand though, that his development took place at Carlisle. Does anyone know if Annan had to pay Carlisle?
  8. I was under the impression that a player's value wasn't some arbitrary sum but rather was based on his earnings.
  9. I don't feel great about this situation. Annan were fantastic hosts to us when we won the Third Division Championship there. I was the chairman of Gordon Lennon's Benefit fund which raised in excess of £23,000 for Gordon's family. The Annan players had a pre-season tournament which they won. They pooled and donated their bonus money which amounted to £500. In an extremely generous gesture Henry McClelland and his board at Annan matched the players efforts and sent a cheque for £1,000. They are a good and generous club and I sincerely hope that everything is above board in relation to Josh Todd.
  10. Crowds weren't great last season but in the last days at Boghead we were down to around 3-400 for most games.
  11. Jamie Ewings is suffering with sciatica. Hope he recovers for the weekend.
  12. To be fair Seb plays in the 'second tier'. However, the news is taking a while to sink in that Sellick have been beaten by a Lincoln City tribute act!
  13. Sometimes, you just have to have a larf. https://m.facebook.com/ally.gee.75/videos/974736539268956/
  14. I liked Mr Findlay's announcement of the goal "Scorer for Dumbarton - Bryan Prunt - sorry Robert Thomson"
  15. Can we change the name of this forum from Sons' Sorrow to Southwest Sauce?
  16. Don't know if he is single but if he is, Cameron House is a club sponsor.
  17. We've discussed which one of us will have that quote as our signature 😀
  18. There is a particular Lanarkshire calendar. January, February, March! March! March!
  19. Maybe but it has an effect on the crowd.
  20. A ticket match with our limited capacity has an adverse effect on crowds. Season books are at the stadium available for collection. You should have been notified.
  21. Walk up will attract a bigger crowd on the day over all ticket in the majority of circumstances. Anything which makes it more difficult for a supporter to attend, means that the chances he/she will are lessened. Simples.
