  1. I don't think that we can afford to let both Wright and McLennan to go out on loan.
  2. That's a meaningless post in the context of when football can start in Scotland. It's 1st August no matter what you think it should be.
  3. HAve you been following the news? There are lots of things that people in England can do that we cannot do up here. Why can’t you just admit that it would, in fact, have been impossible to complete the season and have teams in Europe in the coming season. That is a fact.
  4. Ok. With the government restrictions in place meaning that the first possible, but not definite, date that top league matches in Scotland can be played is 1st August, how would you suggest that the remaining matches could be played and Scotland’s European representatives be given to UEFA in time for the qualifying rounds of next season’s competitions? Edit: The qualifiers for Scottish clubs start on 27th August.
  5. He is an idiot. I remember him saying a month or so ago that the SPFL should have finished last season’s matches regardless, without realising that it was utterly impossible to do so.
  6. I’ve seen quite a few comments around “Scottish football is the laughing stock of Europe”. Quite telling that on yesterday’s Sportsound podcast, when Martin O’Neill was asked about his take on what has been going on in the last few months with Scottish football, he said that he knew nothing until he had asked Chick Young to fill him in with the details. We are not the laughing stock that some people imply, because very few people outside of Scotland can be bothered to find out what happens here. It isn’t even reported on in England.
  7. Of course you're right, but the bottom line is that the final decision was taken by the 12 clubs.
  8. The Dundee vote is a bit of a red herring. That particular vote didn't end the Premiership, it was an entirely separate vote weeks later by all of the Premiership clubs that ended our season, nothing whatsoever to do with Dundee.
  9. I'm certainly enjoying it. The amount of money I've spent going down to Tynecastle in the past ten seasons or so only to see us lose. I'm so bitter.
  10. The problem with Romeo on P&B, and also one of the things that make him entertaining, is that he continues to ask you to answer questions that he "sets". So you answer the question, but because he never agrees with any answer, you haven't actually answered it in his (blinkered) eyes. Good fun.
  11. I raised this very point a few days ago on the Celtic thread on P&B. The usual entitled suspects have been all over me ever since. Basically what business is it of an Aberdeen fan what Celtic want to do.
  12. Your plan for not calling the league early would have been what exactly, given that we cannot play any football in Scotland until 1st August at the earliest?
  13. Ask kingjoey, it made him lose the plot I don't have a plot to lose as I have my own garden.
  14. "Neil Lennon expects Taken out of context" That's almost poetic.
  15. I didn't want reconstruction in any form. But I would have said that the one option that was never explored was the 14, 10, 10, 10 for a maximum of 2 seasons. It's still shite, but from the point of view of the clubs that might have worked. Permanent reconstruction was never going to be accepted in a month of Sundays.
  16. Hmm, not so sure that’s what I said in full. Mind you, you have illustrated beautifully the art of taking something out of context, so well done for showing people how to do that. Masterful.
  17. Dinner is what you have at about 12.30, around 5 hours before your tea.
  18. Very disappointed with Tom English today, who before this crisis all kicked off I really liked, in that he was intent on trapping Donald Findlay into going back on things that he was saying. The only one who did actually get trapped was Levein after he said that he doubted that Hearts would ever loan another player to Cowdenbeath. The second that Findlay had a go at him about that, you could tell that he realised that he’d made an arse of himself with that one. Never, ever thought that I would find myself saying that the only person that came out of the discussion today with any credit was Donald Findlay. Again nobody acknowledging that the permanent reconstruction to a top league of 14 would have been a horror story, which is where all the arguments fell down.
