  1. A 14 team league, if thought about logically and not with blinkers on, is obviously too many. The largest small league that is workable is what we have now, 12. If that is to be increased, the only acceptable number of teams would be 18, as both 14 and 16 are unworkable. But the problem with 18 is that we wouldn’t have a Sky deal as they wouldn’t accept only two Celtic v Rangers league matches per season. So we are stuck with the 12 team league. Anyone that can’t see that a 14 or 16 team league is unworkable belongs to the population in the country inhabited by the Emperor and his new clothes.
  2. This is not going to please a lot of other clubs fans that inhabit this thread. Lewis has been magnificent since he came into the team. He’s probably not quite, but it would be difficult to argue against him being Derek McInnes best signing in his time here.
  3. Ok, I’ll give you a 99% case. IF Hearts chances of remaining in the Premiership fall through, and IF Hearts can rustle up the cash to get their case into some court or other, 99% chance that the court will not even contemplate any disruption to the SPFL set up. The very best that Hearts can hope for IF the case is found in their favour will be some sort of compensation payment.
  4. Given their geography, I’m not convinced that Brora actually want into League 2. They’re probably crapping themselves in case reconstruction goes through.
  5. Hundreds and hundreds of hours of forensic study for me. But that could just be my bravado talking.
  6. But the perceived threat that you wrote isn’t a threat because it won’t happen.
  7. The “courts” will not determine that any decision in Scottish football needs to be undecided.
  8. Will it ever be done? I think that one of the clubs at the bottom end of the Premiership should bite the bullet and offer to swap their place in the Premiership with Hearts and end this farce once and for all. Any takers?
  9. Aberdeen are definitely against a permanent change. Only needs one other club in the Premiership to be against it, and it dies. Until the next vote.
  10. It’s definitely the best of a bad lot, by far. Still shite though. It has to be 12, 10, 10, 10, because that’s what it would have been without the crisis. I keep saying it, reconstruction simply to save Hearts is ridiculous.
  11. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.................
  12. I’ve certainly not written him off. I’ve given an honest opinion of how he has played at the three main clubs that he has played for so far. I didn’t realise that he had been in a serious car crash and that is of course awful. But that doesn’t change how he’s played. He may yet come good, but he certainly hasn’t so far.
  13. Surely unfair on the teams playing away from home in 1st leg If you check out the results, of the six ties played, 5 of the away teams would go through. The only problem would be the two ties that were postponed, but I suppose that these two could just be played as one off games.
  14. Not the best example that you could have used. Ralston was shite at Celtic, shite at Dundee United and shite at St Johnstone.
  15. One of the funniest posts for a while. (By the way, I love Somerset Park)
  16. Rumours going round that the last 16 round of the Europa League is to be settled from the results of the first legs.
  17. If it wasn't for the Sportscene Results programme I would agree with you!
  18. Like you I normally like Tom English and think that Chic talks mostly garbage. But today’s podcast turned things turtle. The thing about Tom English and Craig Levein’s argument today was that they were implying that there has to be reconstruction in some form. They were not pressed to indicate whether they felt that any form of reconstruction would be being discussed at the moment if life had continued as normal. The answer is quite clearly no, so why, apart from saving Hearts, is it felt that we have to have reconstruction just now.
  19. In the 14, 10, 10, 10 version of reconstruction, the team that gets relegated in 12th place in two years time instead of Hearts would be worse off.
  20. Not sure that you’ve grasped what I mean here. I’m not the one that’s using the “no team should be worse off” schpiel, it’s everyone else advocating reconstruction. There is no denying, in a rational mind, that Cove would be worse off in any reconstruction with three leagues. I’m advocating that we stay with 12, 10, 10, 10 which makes Hearts, Partick Thistle and Stranraer worse off, but tough, these teams should have been better up to the premature end to the season. When, without the Covid 19 crisis, there would have been zero talk of reconstruction, why are we wanting to turn our leagues upside down to keep Hearts in the top division. And you can dress it up any way you want, but that is the sole reason for anyone advocating reconstruction.
