  1. The bigger question here is why you want to track this stuff down.
  2. "You've got your Rooneys, your Gerrards, your Lampards..." Roy fecking Hodgson.
  3. Deal or No Deal is still on. Still with Edmonds. STill gash but apparently they've added "box 23" to suck the drama out of the whole thing
  4. I was 10lb 1oz. WHen my wife was pregnant, my mum told her all the stories of my Uncle John who apparently was 15lb and made the papers in 1940. Had it been my dad talking I would have put it down as a wind up, but mum isn't like that. No idea if it was true or not. My boy was just 6lb 15oz. Tiddler.

    Hannibal

Good to see actual violence from Hannibal. His stuff is always hinted at rather than shown. I liked the first season better, I have to say, with the killer of the week. The second half of this season was too much Will and Hannibal talking to each other about each other with that awful music i the background.
  6. Indian Girl must be the only woman in the show not to have "must show boobs" in the contract.
  7. The summer doldrums - there is hee haw on TV at this time of year.
  8. We have neigbours who moved in next door last year. Now deep in to the summer and this guy treats his garden like a bin. Full of black bags, broken beds, toys, the lot. He has a pile of toys outside in his back garden and his kids go and fetch them out to play with them, climbing over other toys to get to them. My only response has been to garden like mad and keep my side looking tidy in the hopes it'll shame him in to cutting his grass at least.
  9. The jags are horrible. In theory they have 2 nurses doing both arms at once. I took Liv in and there was only 1 nurse to do both arms and a spray up the nose. After the first jag...wow. The screams, then having to turn her round for the second. She was hysterical by this point and the nurse handed me the nose spray. I managed it but for days afterwards she wouldn't take off a long sleeved jumper, not even for bed. And she eyed me suspiciously for weeks afterwards
  10. Dream woman. Touch choice though, as I always had a thing for the deputy.
  11. Well, I got my letter from the hospital back. My gargle test came beck negative for sperm. Great news, I was starting to worry that I'd have to go back in and get it done again. Now I'm all soup and no croutons.
  12. I'm fairly sure it'll end with white walkers vs dragons. The people will probably all die as the whole thing is a metaphor for climate change.
  13. Entering the final phase of the vasectomy story. Monday was the day to take in my sample, so I set the alarm early, got up and gathered the cup. Never have I done something with less enthusiasm. Once I managed to produce my feeble amount, I took it to the hospital. Should hear in 2-3 weeks if the samples is "clear". I joked with my wife that the test was actually a wee old woman who gargled the samples. She took it too far by saying "I'd do that job, but what if my dad handed in a sample?"
  14. Congratulations! A 2:1 is harder to get than some folk think.
  15. Season 2! Love this show. Could do with more violence and nudity, but aside from that it's cracking.

    Hannibal

Have you ever managed to watch Hannibal whilst eating a scotch pie? I haven't.
  17. Well...didn't your courses get marked as percentages? These can be translated to grades but each should have a number. Then it's the average of these. A second thought on determining the degree outcome. For here, to get a first you must average 70% and above on your courses and also get a minimum of 70% on your final year dissertation.
  18. "Put your hood up. I don't want your face to get frozen"
  19. So here's the problem. The best books have been adapted now. A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons were a bit sub-par compared to the ones we have seen. I hope the TV producers take complete liberties from now on.
  20. Depends on what courses the Uni counts as contributing to the classification. Usually this is 3rd and 4th year courses. Here, it's as simple as this: 70% + 1st class 60-69% 2:1 50-59% 2:2 40-49% 3rd class In the meetings however if a student is on the borderline (say, got 69.1%) then the lecturers discuss the student and if they feel it's right, they make the case for that student to be bumped up. This is why, in large part I say to all students on here - go to your lectures. Be engaged and talk to the lecturers. If you do that, and you make a good impression, they'll go to bat for you. If you do it all from home and don't go in, as many people on here have said they do, you won't get that. We had a student with 49.8% and nobody made the case for him to get a 2:2. He's getting a 3rd. That's because he didn't engage with the lecturers or the courses.
  21. This is a dreadful thing. My dad was a policeman for 30 years, and I remember in the 90s a woman went in to labour in the florist's shop on the high street. Dad was on hand and delivered the baby - which was stillborn. I've never known him to be so low and depressed. He was for months and months.
  22. Watched about 3 episodes and have given up. Just not for me. Shame, as a young boy I was hooked on Cell Block H.
