  1. 100%. I think @Melanius Mullarkeywas also in full agreement. It has to be white shorts and red socks for me too, FIFA rulings can be ignored and should be on this one.
  2. My half Irish 18 month old daughter puked over her St Patrick's Day sleepsuit last night and clarted her "I love Ireland" top today in food before 9am. Meanwhile she has never done either to her Scotland stuff. I am more silently proud of her than I should be. Petty stuff I know but a small moral victory for me over my Irish wife and in laws.
  3. I'm not the most knowledgeable about rugby union but this is fantastic sport. Two teams going for it, tremendous for the neutral. The atmosphere is tremendous too, feels better than the Stade de France for French games.
  4. I'm with @Melanius Mullarkeyin terms of Scotland strips usually so blue top, white shorts and red socks. Being a fair bit younger, the anniversary kit is absolutely my favourite one. Controversially and going against my own rule above, I also liked the Fila effort from the Berti Vogts era, albeit it's not really a traditional Scotland strip, I'm a sucker for a collar and pinstripes. Obviously only has bad memories but I have the top and love it. Again a shite Scotland era but loved the McLeish era strip. Clean, simple, gorgeous.
  5. Do we have to? 2-0 Motherwell. Hopefully Leven's comments in midweek sink in with the players. This is a critical situation. They've shown in the odd flash this season that they are a capable group but they've only produced once in a blue moon. Hopefully they can do the business tomorrow.
  6. The board and players really have to take a hard look at themselves. The board for continually making an absolute mess of things. Absolutely squandered the relatively reasonable position McInnes left us in (let's not go over old ground, we were 4th and continually up the right end of the table). This season has been an absolute fucking shambles. The warning signs were there post split last season and the defeat to Hacken was a huge red flag. Persisted with Robson too long when it was obvious to all by the end of October that he wasn't the man. The Warnock appointment was a spectacular f**k up that has pushed us from a top six scrap to a genuine relegation playoff dogfight. Responsibility lies with Cormack, Burrows and "Gunner". Hid behind the club review as opposed to making a proper appointment post Robson. As for the players. Produce a good performance once in a blue moon then revert to half arsed nonsense. A group of players who take no pride in their work and now their confidence is shot to bits, are in a total spiral. A thoroughly dislikeable, mentally weak group who need massive surgery in the summer, again. Tl;Dr seething, raging and on the verge of tears stuff from someone who was always a critic of Cormack.
  7. The Technical Director is required because the DOF is out of his depth (always was going to be through no fault of his own, Cormack made a bad choice there). An excellent administrator but not as up to speed on the football side of the club.
  8. That's exactly right, comes from my watch (Garmin Forerunner 30) and it has sat consistently at that level throughout training. Doesn't bother me hugely, thankfully I've not keeled over so all good and I know my resting heart rate is low 50s despite being comfortably in the overweight category. People hate the phrase but I am your classic "fit fatty" when it comes to running.
  9. Did the Inverness Half Marathon today. My second half marathon, 12 years, 4 stones, a wife and an 18 month old daughter after the first half marathon. Definitely didn't set any speed records but I'm more proud of this sub 2 hour today than I was of the 1:31 I did in Glasgow when I was 20. Had some recent hereditary health issues kick in and have asthma now so this was harder but more worthwhile. Likely be my last, as 10k runs seem a comfortable distance for my body. But the event was well run and the people were just lovely to all runners. Added bonus of an empire biscuit at the end due to a medal f**k up. Good luck to all doing races this year.
  10. My wife was over on Friday (not deliberately to vote) and forgot to vote rushing to the airport to get back here. Turns out it would have made no difference as Kildare North returned thumping No votes to both. How much of it is social conservative views and how much of it is vagueness of the proposals from the government will be teased out in time in their media. But I think you are spot on that any vagueness gets punished. The AV referendum here was another example, the status quo won through easily. There has been a lot of talk recently about how progressive South Ireland is but I'm not sure that is hugely true. Maybe so in Dublin and Cork but more rural areas are much like rural Scotland.
  11. I don't know enough around the development side of the game but judging by the under 20s, we're going to have to import a shed load of players over the next decade?
  12. Obviously it's sickening that our club off the park has been a complete circus for the last few years. However the one silver lining of this absolute fiasco is that it's another Englishman who came up here thinking they'd stroll it sent back down battered and bruised. That's pleasing. As for the future, who knows with Cormack, Burrows and "Gunner". They have to get this one right as the club needs stability. Realistically the top half is probably gone so get the wins on the board to stay up, focus on the cup semi and let's get this shitshow of a season done.
  13. The SRU have been happy with 3 wins a year in the Six Nations with 1 of them being England each year. The fact is we've stagnated badly. Threw away the Championship in 2021 and we've thrown away the chance this year after the defeats against France and Italy. Likelihood is we end up with two wins from five. With such a talented team, it's a complete failure. After two mediocre World Cups and complete stagnation, its hard to argue for Townsend. I do accept that I come into it with a very critical and harsh lens based on my football style instincts. Perhaps folk who go to Murrayfield are satisfied with a few wins. But I certainly don't see it among passionate rugby fans on here. So why is there so little pressure on Townsend from the media and among the wider Scottish support?
  14. 2 wins from 5 from Townsend after a feeble World Cup. That he keeps his job is probably due to the media being obsessed by the Old Firm with no scrutiny on rugby.
  15. Do we have to? To steal @TheScarf's patter, 0-2.
  16. What a shame to see McBurnie in a side this shite. One of the reasons I hope Arsenal don't ease up, McBurnie.
  17. We might be shite but we are massive. 2-0 St Mirren.
  18. Somehow I'm straddling both just now. Fury mixed with stages of not caring.
  19. I'm going to rinse and repeat what I said in the match thread but updated for post match. I'm simultaneously apathetic and furious. We've spectacularly fucked this season and bar a fluke run by Robson this time last year, Cormack and the board have taken this club back to the dark days of the late 90s and early 10s by a series of shambolic decisions. Warnock being the latest one of those. Chucking the players under the bus is never a good approach as a manager no matter that I fully agree that they are gutless. I could not despise the club more just now. It's a series of games waiting for the inevitable concession and every so often we might fluke a draw. A set of players who have talent but no guts or determination to put things right. A squad so imbalanced as to make anything resembling width be impossible. No sign of things getting any better. Livingston are gone but a dreadful County are only 4 points behind and we're now in a battle to avoid the relegation playoff.
  20. Hiya pals. After a year's hiatus last year, we're back with a bang this year. And with Neil Warnock in charge, we'd be both the banter choice and the one almost everyone outside Aberdeen fans want to go down.
  21. I wish I could say the same about apathy. I have a bit of that but I have a lot more anger in me. At least there's some abject shite in the bottom two because we should be deeper in bother than we currently are.
  22. Incredible decision not to give that as a penalty. Stonewaller. The standard of officiating in this country is so poor. Can't see St Mirren being that bad again in the second half. Ross County have been poor also but took their chance well. Not great for the Dons but living in the Highlands, it would be great to see County survive.
  23. Dindee and Ibrix should be bad enough to be sacked.
  24. Agreed. Can I caveat by saying it is absolutely not an agenda to have a go at Kenny McIntyre for absolutely anything, even when it's not justified?
