Re this Clattenburg appointment. It was being discussed on radio 5 earlier and the view from the journalist (didn't catch his name) was that although he's been described as an analyst he's currently more being used as a lobbyist and is in place to give more "credibility" to Forest complaints. The discussion was somewhat derailed by Micah Richards struggling to understand what the issues might be but I thought, despite that, it was interesting.

None of our centre backs fill me with any real confidence with Brydon the best of the bunch IMHO but a combination of Ambrose and McKay is scraping the bottom of a truly shite barrel. Frankly if Annan don’t win this game they’ll deserve to be in the play off spot. They’re due a win against us and I’ll be very surprised if they don’t get it.

I'm trying to find a positive here. We played 20+ minutes with a central defence of Ambrose and McKay (the McKaiser) and only conceded one goal. That has to be a plus. That said with Brydon and McClelland injured I suspect the above pair will be in central defence in our relegation 6 pointer at Annan. What could possibly go wrong. That assumes Efe turns up on time and that McKay has his socks looking just right.

It’s sadly all too believable. The fact that he is lies squarely at the feet of the current board. I keep seeing people (not you) asking why he doesn’t walk away but it’s ridiculous to expect someone to walk away from in excess of a year’s salary.

Very valuable point in our fight against the drop. We hear so often how important the first goal is. Presumably getting the next goal at 1-1 is just as key. We do both but still can’t win. We really are shite.
